My boy, Knafa, has been at avenue animal hospital since he was a kitten 12 years ago. We’ve gone through many ups and downs with his health and it wasn’t until Dr Mottel came in and saved the day. He was able to diagnose his IBD immediately and get Knafa’s blood work looking good. Since moving away with my cats 2 years ago, the biggest thing they lost, especially my old man Knafa, was Dr Mottel as his vet. Nobody matches his love and care for animals. Dr Mottel, the cats and I miss you! You are an incredible vet.

I have been a customer with all my pets over 15 years. I recently missed an appointment due to a family emergency didn’t contact them in a timely manner to reschedule had been ankle high in water from a sub pump that went out and it was the last thing on my mind. When I did call to reschedule they informed me of a no show policy of 83.00 that I was unaware of and wasn’t stated on their web site at time of booking appointment ! I asked if they could wave it do to first time I have missed an appointment Or even pay half Since I have been a loyal customer for over 15 years?
They refused to compromise! So I said they would be loosing me as a customer . They offered to send my dogs record's to another veterinarian . “over a one time offense “ ! I feel like they couldn’t care less about life’s unexpected events and lack empathy towards a long standing customer.
I just have a bad taste in my mouth how they handled this entire situation. I will not be going back to avenue animal hospital again.

Dr. Mottel is the best vet in the state. Period. He treats my 12 year old beagle, Woody, like one of his own.

The vets at Avenue Animal hospital are kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable! So grateful to have them caring for our furry family members. They have gone above and beyond for us each and every time, and care deeply for their patients.
Excellent, courteous, and responsive customer service from the front desk staff.

Dad passed away and I came down from Wisconsin to pick up his dog and take him home with me. My thought was to take the dog to the vet he had been seeing for shots and a check up. I was 10 minutes late. I waited 15 minutes for them to tell me they refused to take us. It is their policy.
I explained I had driven three hours that morning and the dog's owner, my father, had just passed away. I was taking him home with me.
Her response was it was their policy and did I want to reschedule. Nothing can be done?Did I want to update his records ? No. I had told her three times I was taking him back to Wisconsin to live with me . Taking Sheldon to see his regular vet office no longer seemed important. I asked for his medical records and left. As we left she did say "Sorry about that." She did say the office tried to call but no one answered. With all that going on, I had failed to give my number when I made the appointment.
This had been his vet for years . My sister said she thought there had been a recent change of ownership . Here is to their new policy. After all those years Sheldon had this be his final visit.

The team at Avenue is awesome. They truly care about the animals they care for and their families. They always have very reasonable and flexible. Plan of care that’s tailored to the individual pet. They don’t just try to throw a bunch of expensive testing you. I’m so happy I found them. I have referred multiple people here, and everyone has felt the same way.

This is the finest veterinary clinic I’ve ever been to. My kitty has seen all the vets here, with Dr Snell being the latest. And she is WONDERFUL. The technicians are excellent as well. I love this practice and I HIGHLY recommend them.

I’m only giving this place a 1 star because the office manager was so kind. I took my Lana in because she had a cough I was told by the veterinarian Kelly Snell that my Lana had pancreatitis she only did blood work sent us home with some pain meds, This was on a Wednesday on Sunday Lana went into cardiac arrest! Her stomach had filled with blood something the Emergency vet told me we would have seen if The so called vet Kelly Snell had taken an X-ray to properly diagnose her, instead she passed 3 days later on Palm Sunday. When I went to speak with Kelly Snell she should no empathy at all and when I asked her why she didn’t take an X-ray she simply replied I don’t know! Please don’t take your pets to her ask to see anyone else but her. I would hate for anyone to lose there pet because Kelly Snell is either to lazy, lacks the experience or education that it takes to care for our pets. I wouldn’t trust her with a pet rock!

I visited this vets for a check-up and booster shot for my cat.
The veterinary team were professional and well informed. My cat wasn't the most cooperative, but they handled it professionally and offered great advice and care.
Base on my limited experience, I'd be happy to recommend them.

We are so happy with the love and care both of our dogs have received every time they come for their check ups. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming. I love that the waiting room is quiet and calm which makes things easier for our nervous pups.

The staff at AAH are always kind and helpful. The vets have always been really good at explaining my dog's disposition and needs. I feel good about bringing my fur baby to AAH every time and never worry about her treatment. I gave two other vet clinics a try in the past two years because they were 5 and 10 minutes away from my house, but neither experience gave me the same confidence as AAH.

Dr Mottel and staff are kind and compassionate! We have 2 dogs from Midwest Lab Rescue! Bailey Anne and Angus Beef, I personally believe that Dr Mottel saved our Angus. Poor boy was not on the best health when we adopted him, but Dr Mottel took such good care of him he is thriving today! Thank you Ave Animal Hospital for taking such good care of our pups!
