Had the honor of being guests (albeit paying guests) at this remarkable inn.Welcomed as family. Small town vibes, close to Springfield and Decatur. Peaceful wraparound porch, most everything within walking or a 5 minute driving distance. Several large lakes not far, too.Proprietors Myrna & Joe were beyond accommodating, and very knowedgable on local history.Really looking forward to our next stay.

My wife and I were in the area visiting friends and were thrilled that we found the Market Street Inn! The Inn is so charming, the rooms are extremely comfortable, and the food is amazing. The host was also wonderful! We highly recommend staying here if life brings you to the Taylorville area!

It is said that the best things happen when you least expect them. Was visiting Taylorville and had the pleasure to spend the night in this quint and lovely B&B. The property was very well maintained and my room was very comfy and clean. Wifi works very well. Myrna and Joe are very friendly……. Instead of an “inn”, I actually felt that I am visiting their house.Breakfast was delicious – started with a fruit platter and was followed by a spinach quiche/sausage. When was the last time the owner of a hotel asked you if want a second serving haha? I was in Taylorville for business and Myrna actually set us up with a special table so we can have a little more privacy to discuss work during breakfast. Myrna also gave me a tour of the place and gave me a brief history of the house. Joe showed me photos of his grandkid…… Very different experience v.s the Hiltons and Westins.Fav moment? About 10 pm, dark sky…. opening and locking the front door of an old house (using an old school key) before walking up the stairs to my room. I don’t know………. something magical about that moment!

Myrna and Joe Hauser, proprietors of The Market Street Inn, are extremely gracious hosts in every way. The house is beautiful and has been authentically preserved. It is furnished with beautiful antiques, and has modern bathrooms in every room. Joe and Myrna are so welcoming and serve delicious home-cooked breakfasts in an elegant yet comfortable style. A stay at this B & B is balm for the soul!

This is one place that pictures from a website truly don't do it justice. We had a warm, wonderful stay and I was utterly charmed by the beautiful period pieces and rooms. We stayed in the rose room which was very to my taste and I would recommend it! Wonderful stop in an unexpected area.

This was a beautiful bed and breakfast. Joe and Myrna were the most wonderful hosts. I hadn’t stayed in a B&B before and wasn’t sure what to expect, but they made my family (husband, 4 yo, 1.4 yo and myself) feel right at home. The house is beautiful and has an amazing porch with rocking chairs with a view of the garden. Breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed watching the birds in the garden while we ate.We highly recommend!

An Outstanding Bed & Breakfast in a charming Victorian treasure. The house has been meticulously cared for and it makes a great Bed & Breakfast. The beds in the Rose and Lilac Rooms are Tempur-Pedic and make for a good sleep if you have a bad back. The little things go a long way here - the inn has cold bottled water constantly available and the proprietors strive to make the guests feel at home. We had an elderly relative along and he used Helen's Room which is the ADA room in the Carriage House - it was perfect for him and all went well. The breakfast is just fantastic. Buzz, our host, was a great host and made sure we were happy. There is nothing like breakfast in the dining room with the fireplace making warmth and enjoying freshly prepared breakfast. No conventional hotel can match this. Buzz also recommended some restaurants and we were most pleased with his recommendation. We really enjoyed Market Street Inn and will return in the future. If you are looking for a great Bed & Breakfast, look no further - this is it. It is worth a special trip if you are traveling on the interstates and looking for the feel of home while on the road. This exceeds anything offered by most hotels on the highway. It is a destination place to stay. I highly recommend Market Street Inn.

We love Joe and Myrna they are very nice. They are also very gracious host always checking to see what time you want to eat breakfast. Myrna makes a very good eggs Benedict and also very good French toast. Another great aspect of the bed and breakfast is the porch everytime we come we sit out on the porch and talk for hours.
