First time here. Extremely unfriendly employees. Produce is not good at all, no maintaining of bad fruit or vegetables. Pretty gross. Will not return

This location gave my mother a COVID booster instead of the FLU vaccine she signed up for... literal criminals. DO NOT trust them with your health.

After shopping at this store since it opened, I now feel compelled to appeal to the management to hire employees with POSITIVE attitudes and CHEERFUL dispositions, INSTEAD of moody, middle-aged monsters, and unmannered juveniles with ZERO social skills! Much too frequently I have encountered women 'of a certain age' (both cashiers and (especially) customer service desk employees) who seem to have NO patience with customers (in addition to being impatient, these more 'senior' employees are also haughty, sarcastic, patronizing, condescending, and absolutely RUDE); as well as young employees who have seemingly not been taught the following words: "hello", "please", and "thank you" (nor do they possess the ability/social skills to freely chat with customers while they are scanning their purchases; the 'kids' talk to each other (cashiers and baggers), while ignoring the customers completely; and, from my experience, RARELY do they ever "thank" the customer at the end of the purchase!). It seems to me that ALL of these people were aware--when they applied and were hired-- that they would be working with the PUBLIC! If that is a 'challenge' for them, then perhaps a factory job (wearing ear plugs, and working only with a machine and a conveyor belt) would be a better fit???!!!A current example: I recently encountered a young male employee who was stocking one of the liquor aisles-- he had boxes stacked on a wide cart that was blocking the aisle from one side to the other. So I POLITELY (with a SMILE on my face!) asked if I could "squeeze" past him, in order to access the items for which I was shopping. There was absolutely NO verbal response from him, whatsoever-- no apology for COMPLETELY BLOCKING the aisle-- he just STARED at me, with a look on his face that indicated that he was completely ANNOYED by my request, and he quite obviously felt that he was MORE 'entitled' to the use of the aisle than any of the customers! So I am left wondering what kind of training- if any- the employees receive??? While I realize that the employees have a job to do, they wouldn't have that job if it were not for the customers who shop in the store; so the employees should be told that BLOCKING an aisle in order to stock it is NOT acceptable! Also, years ago, when the self-service kiosks were added, I stopped going to the regular checkout lanes, altogether; I would rather scan and bag my own groceries, than be subjected to cranky middle-aged women, and gum-chomping high school kids without manners! In addition, I ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS check the expiration dates on EVERYTHING in this store (food items as well as general merchandise), since it seems that the stock is not PROPERLY rotated. Unfortunately, over the years that this store has been open, I have found MANY, MANY expired items that were not pulled from the shelves! SO. EXTREMELY. GROSS!!! Therefore, it actually saddens me to write this negative review, since I was initially thrilled when this store opened! However, not much at this location has changed and/or improved over the years; and now (in 2023), it seems WORSE than ever! Sorry, not sorry-- just being honest! (And hoping that customers will see improvement SOON!) Note to Manager: PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE train ALL of the employees to SMILE, SPEAK NICELY, and SHOW RESPECT and APPRECIATION to the customers! Many thanks if you can make that happen!!! :-)

The Sugar Grove Jewel-Osco location is always clean and tidy. The staff are recognizable and kind. Carts feel clean and don't squeak. The layout of this store though? Elite. Everything feels like it's where it should be, I'm not circling 3 different cooler areas and end caps searching endlessly for sour cream. Another reason I love this store is how quick the deli is. Never more than a few minute wait, whereas I've taken a number and waited half an hour (yes half an hour) at 3pm on a Tuesday at other locations (*cough* Batavia).Now... the bagging... let's work on that guys. If I wanted nachos, I wouldn't be buying tostadas. I'd also prefer to get my bread home without a Gatorade indentation in the side. Not worth deducting a star since it's not always the case, but many of them could use some improvement.

Ron, the pharmacist is on top of his game! Ron and Kristen ALWAYS take great caution and care of my family. Knows each of us on a first name basis. A true local pharmacy! We put our trust in them.

I’d like to personally thank the pharmacy staff, Kristen Kroening in particular, who has always gone out of her way to assist me with my prescriptions. They all deserve a lot of credit, for doing their absolute best to serve the community through these difficult times, and often through difficult people.

At times this Jewel is out of the product I want, so I go up Rt 47 to the Jewel if I am in dire need of the product. Since I have been shopping at the Elburn Jewel, I cannot help but notice how friendly and helpful the employees are, especially the customer service department.

If anyone sees the 1 star reviews, please read them. They're ridiculous. Posted by self-entitled individuals who think they deserve multiple apologies because they though something was floating in their bottled water. Do you think the stock people inspect every bottle of sealed water in a case? Where do these people come from? I'm at this jewel nearly every day. The check out people are courteous, the customer service is courteous but overworked. The deli is slow but again...courteous. The quality is the EXACT SAME you find in any other Jewel, if not better. Karen's and Kyles have nothing better to do than slam grocery store employees for not "apologizing". Give me a break. Grow up. I can bring anything back without a hassle, even without a receipt. They're very amenable to your issues, especially if they know your face. The firewood sucks though. It doesn't burn without a starter log. Literally won't burn. Everything else is exactly what you'd expect. People need to quit whining over stupid crap.

The pharmacist, Kristin Kroening, was absolutely awful to me. She refused to fill my prescription because she wanted to close early! She was rude and told me she didn't want to unlock the time-lock safe, to put my script through, even though there was 30 minutes left before close. If I were you I wouldn't get your prescriptions filled here! Go right across the street to Walgreens where they won't be so rude to you

This jewel is out of everything all the time. Has been like that since they opened. Never have the ad items or inventory on regular items. This is not a recent thing with this store it is been like that for years. We call it the rain check Jewel...
