Pete was very helpful and knowledgeable on CVT trans in my Altima. Thank you Pete for the great and prompt service! I will definitely be coming back for any work my car needs! Transmission shops usually have a bad rep, but S-O-S is very truthful and take care of the problem the first time!Thank you!

Transmission rebuild. 2002 volvo s80. Better than stock. Shifts incredibly well. Expensive but worth the money if that's what you want. I am very happy with the outcome. Better shifting than the stock setup. I have to be more cautious about speed limits. I made a good choice when I went here for a transmission job.Service: Transmission

Very nice guy. He took the time to bring me the transmission pan while I was sitting in the waiting area.

DO NOT COME HERE!!! Terrible service! I recently took my car to rebuild transfer case paid $3000 and had to bring back within couple days ,car was leaking fluid all over and shifting odd within a week, After dropping it off it stayed in the Parkin lot for a month , not one call or anything, I had to keep going in for updates and when I would go in he wouldn’t even recognize me??mechanic would say he would call me back after I would call multiple times and not a single call did I ever get ! AVOID at ALL costs!!!! I am now seeking additional damages to transmission and lost out on 3000$ from this place , took it to another specialist and within ten min they were able to see car was leaking fluid and mechanic used silicone all over to try n stop leak! Terrible service ,terrible business I hope to save people from coming here, I am never one to write reviews but this place is completely ridiculous and embarrassing establishment.Service: Transmission

S-O-S Transmissions is one of the most well-known transmission shops in the Stone Park area. They recently worked on my SUV and fixed a transmission leak in my 05 Trailblazer very quickly. Been weeks now and no leak or drip. The guy Pete who owns the place knows transmissions and has been in the business for many years and has helped me in the past besides this. Was happy with the work! Thanks!

I consider myself lucky, because I discovered SOS Transmission almost a year ago. I was in need of some transmission work on my 2006. I knew from the first call with Pete (owner), that I was talking with someone who lived and breathed transmissions. We agreed that I would bring the car in so he could take a closer inspection. I was impressed with how much time he took to explain the condition of my car; answering all my questions and he actually recommended we try some more cost effective solutions to curve the problem. When I did have to make the repair he explained everything in detail. What mechanic do you know who would asked you sincerely whether you will have transportation to get around while your car is being repaired? I was shocked and deeply appreciative that he even asked me. He repaired the car and it drives like new, AND THE REPAIR COST WAS FAIR! One week later, I received a thank you note from Pete - thanking me for using his business. When is the last time you got a thank you note from your mechanic? Now one more thing you need to know about SOS Transmission is this - once you been a customer you can look forward to picking up a copy of the monthly SOS newsletter; which has everything from car care tips to delicious recipes. Bottom line - if you are looking a transmission expert that charges fairly for work - YOU NEED TO HEAD DIRECTLY TO SOS TRANSMISSION!

A good, trustworthy mechanic is worth their weight in gold. I've been taking all my vehicle repairs (at least the many I couldn't do myself) to S.O.S. Transmissions in Stone Park for 20 years... three AMC's, one Buick, one Dodge, a Ford, and two Toyotas. I never once got burned or had a faulty repair. And many times, they went out of their way to do the job right and treat me fair. Pete truly earns his ASE Master Mechanic certification every single day. And Bob is top-notch too! The best-kept secret is that while transmission repair & rebuilding is their specialty, they are more than capable of all sorts of automotive repairs (except maybe wheel alignments) on all makes and models.. even large trucks and vans. I've even had an engine rebuild done there as well as brake service, routine oil changes, electrical issues and other miscellaneous repairs. And yes, they handle hybrid and EV repairs as well, with a great staff and all the current tools and computer diagnostics. No... I don't work for S.O.S, nor do I own any part of the company, nor am I related to anyone who works there. I'm simply appreciative of having a competent shop I can turn to that won't rip me off or do crappy repairs. S.O.S. is the real deal.
