“Nestled at the back of a quaint Mexican grocery store in Sterling, IL, La Laguna Mexican restaurant is a hidden gem that truly encapsulates the essence of authentic Mexican cuisine. From the moment you step in, the warm welcome of chips and hot sauce sets the tone for a culinary adventure that's both engaging and delightful. The steak tacos, a perennial favorite, are a testament to the kitchen's commitment to flavor and quality. Each bite is a harmonious blend of tender, perfectly seasoned meat, fresh toppings, and soft tortillas. However, the real game-changer for me has been their Gorditas. On my latest visit, I decided to venture beyond my usual order, and I'm thrilled to say the Gorditas have stolen my heart. Stuffed with an abundance of savory fillings, these Gorditas boast a perfect texture and depth of flavor that elevates them to "new favorite" status. The hot sauce lineup is not for the faint-hearted, ranging from the eye-watering kick of habanero to the nuanced heat of red chili, the tangy zest of tomatillo, and the creamy richness of avocado. Each sauce offers a distinct flavor profile, allowing diners to customize their dishes to their desired level of spice.La Laguna's ability to offer such authentic Mexican fare at reasonable prices is indeed commendable. The culinary experience here rivals that of the offerings found on the border towns of Texas and Mexico, which is no small feat. The charm of La Laguna lies not just in its food but in the overall experience - from the unassuming location within a grocery store to the genuine hospitality and the vibrant flavors that await within. For anyone craving genuine Mexican cuisine without the need for a passport, La Laguna in Sterling, IL, is a must-visit. It's a testament to the rich culinary traditions of Mexico, served up with a side of charm and warmth that's as inviting as the food is delicious. Whether you're a seasoned aficionado of Mexican cuisine or a curious newcomer, La Laguna promises an unforgettable dining experience that's bound to leave you planning your next visit.”
“Nice little store with authentic Mexican groceries. A small counter at the back of the store that has some prepared food items on the weekend. Prices are reasonable and the store is clean and tidy.”
“I love this store. I try to shop here wherever I'm in town. It is a nice size - small enough to be easy to navigate but large enough to have what I need 99% of the time.”
“I was very pleased with my shopping experience at this Walmart as the staff were always so pleasant. “Though I've never had big problem finding help in the store I always look my items up on line before going. I find their web site very user-friendly. I find what quantity they have in stock and location in the store. Very useful and time saving.”

“My experiences at Walmart have always been good. It is usually in and out with occasional waiting. Had a great experience in the phone department 2 weeks ago with some awesome helpful information about my phone.”
“Had trouble with insurance going thru. It was going to cost $1380.00 for 2 weeks supply. They tried to no avail. Pharmacist called doctor and in 15 minutes i had alternate medicine, and it cost $4.80 and $11.00 TOTAL for each. Instead of $800 and $580 for each!!! Every Two weeks!
Whats funny is I didnt change back , because these are less then my $20 co-pay. And I dont need a fancy name on it. Check, your meds may cost less then copay! Just pay cash. Thanks Walmart for teaching me this trick. Always check generic price and compare to co-pay, it may be FAR less! Save$$$”
“Produce is always fresh. However, if a scant amount of fruit and vegetables are left, then they tend to be moldy and not removed from shelves.
Wide variety of meats, pop, cheese, juice, and other products.
The store is always very clean in comparison to other Aldi Stores.
The bathrooms are clean and stocked with plenty of toilet paper!?
Workers are helpful with shoppers with disabilities and will get a stool to sit on while disabled people need this to pack their own bags.
The one suggestion for all stores I have is to add 4 power wheelchair ♿️ crates to each store, like the ones at Wal-Mart. These chairs would not ever have to go outside if, when checking out from the store, the paid for items would be placed into a normal cart. Very nice people working there.”
