Grossly negligent. Killed my dog Do not come here. Let my dog sit there all day with injuries. Never followed up with us. When they finally did it was too late to save the dog. They have no clue what they are doing. They showed.me on an xray that my dogs ribs were not broken and later when the dog died on their table, they said the whole rib cage was crushed. I saw with my own eyes the ribs were not broken.

I have to keep this short before I start bawling again but wanted to give a huge recommendation for this place as an ER because a few days ago my husband and I had that nightmare, the one every single person reading this dreads, when one of our beloved cats died very suddenly, as in one minute the cat who had not been sick at all was playing and fine and the next he'd frozen up into some kind of siezure and stopped breathing in a matter of seconds. Terrified and in shock I googled ER vet near me and thank God I got this place, calling them while running to the car with our cat. We lost him, yes, to an apparent heart attack, but the kindness and care and steadfast feeling this clinic gave us when we needed it most has won them our loyalty and I'm grateful to everyone on staff that night for taking care of us, and of Captain Larry.

I will start off with a positive note, everyone who works there is nice and Doctor Amy is very friendly and clearly loves being around animals. But ultimately, the competency to address medical concerns for dog care is EXTREMELY poor. My dog has a condition that is called Cushing's. At the time I was going to St. Charles Veterinary Clinic, my dog had been going there since he was 4 months old (now 9 years old) and we never found out he had Cushing's. He began having joint pain, excessive drinking and eating, skin rashes and skin tags. All the concerns that persisted during our time there. After two years of bring in my dog for this, all the clinic could offer each time was over the counter shampoos or creams for the rash or try their vitamin for joints. However, my dog did not improve. This was not the first time we had to try multiple treatment due to poor medical advice. My dog has many skin tags, we did a freeze treatment. That failed. We went back and had to do an operation and put him under. Over a 1000$ wasted. (we now know that freeze treatment was never going to work due to the size of the skin tag after being told by my new vet) Long story short, once I realize they are simply not quality veterinary professionals and I was moving out of state so I went elsewhere who, upon the first apointment, had said my dogs condition was clearly all linked and any vet should do bloodwork to find out what is going on. Within a week we had a diagnosis and a good treatment plan because he had a fairly common condition. My dog is much better and thriving now that I am not in the care of St. Charles Veterinary Clinic.

I visited the St. Charles Veterinary Clinic for the first time about two months ago. I took my cat in to get her yearly vaccinations, and get checked out because she had been having some blood in her stool. All of the staff were helpful and friendly. I forget the name of the veterinarian that treated my cat, but he was incredibly kind and the medication he prescribed healed my cat promptly! I also thought everything was quite affordable and fairly priced. You can tell they truly care about your pets! My cat and I will be coming here from now on!

My cat had an emergency surgery here and the recovery was awesome, the surgery was great and they were very very comprehensive with me and my emotions. They let me come and visit him after the surgery and keep me post as I requested . It was on a Sunday to the emergency line and everything I will recommend this clinic for an emergency no doubt

I loved coming here for Dr Todd! He was nice, good with my "difficult" dog, and didn't push extra vaccines or medications. Unfortunately Dr Todd retired. I spent quite a bit of time telling the front desk staff that I needed a vet who was patient with my dog. Who do they book me with? Someone who appeared to be straight out of vet school. After telling the vet that my dog was defensive and that he needed a muzzle she was afraid to even pet him (he's actually pretty friendly most of the time with tail wagging, no growling). Its so insulting to spend ten minutes on the phone asking for an experienced vet and then getting the exact opposite. And yes, I probably should have looked the vet up on their website, but I actually trusted them. If I can't trust them with a simple request, how can I trust them with my dogs health? I have since moved both my dogs to another vet and I'm in the process of getting my mom and my aunt to move all of their animals as well. Obviously I would have stayed as a customer if the vet was even semi-good with my dog- which is disappointing all around because Dr Todd was so kind and accommodating. To be honest, I would have stayed if they had actually honored my request! But this was too ridiculous to even bear coming back.

As my dog stretches her legs I decided to should come to write a good review for the ACL surgery she had here (Gracie Gonzales) 5 years ago. The recovery was hard but WOW we haven't had any issues with her leg over the last 5 years. She tore her ACL as an injury, so the other leg compensated the weight well during recovery, it wasn't degenerated with age or anything. She's 16 years old now and the surgery 5 years ago was well worth it.

We live in Nashville and brought our 6.5 year old Yellow Lab, Nash (our fifth Labrador), to Dr Miles for surgery and it was the BEST decision! After being told, incorrectly, it appeared Nash had hip dysplasia from our regular vet in Nashville and once Nash was correctly diagnosed with a ruptured ACL/CCL and Meniscus tear it was strongly recommended he have TPLO surgery. We've been through both surgeries in the past: a Lateral Suture Technique/Extracapsular Repair-with our First Labrador and Double TPLO with our Second Labrador. We had a big decision to make and are lucky enough to be able to afford any procedure. The internet pushes TPLO and makes you think if you can 'afford' TPLO surgery... this is the way to go. What we considered was the experience and knowledge of Dr Miles and knowing him from having lived in St Charles in the past. He studied at one of, if not THE Best, DVM Universities in the country. No one is more passionate and caring. Do your homework, ask your questions, don't get sucked in to the 'popular trend' on the internet and with 'newer' Veterinarians. We are so happy we consulted with Dr. Miles, made our decision, and 5 weeks after surgery Nash is getting back to his old self! It is amazing to see the progress and weight bearing return to his back right leg. He is excited for walks again and we started just a little bit of ball playing!! If only Dr. Miles was closer! Our gratitude is beyond measure and this Thanksgiving many, many, Thanks will be for Doc Miles

We had to wait in the parking lot for 2 hours after we called, my little sister's cat needed surgery. After they did end up getting us in, the staff was very friendly and had no problem explaining different vocabulary and procedures to a worried teenage girl. You should have no problems going here, just not necessarily if you're in a hurry

I can’t even honestly put into words how much I love & appreciate St. Charles vet clinic. Dr.Amy is truly the best hands down. She was so kind and caring for our little man Buster, we unfortunately had to put him down on Monday, but while she cared for him, for the last 4 months of his life was anything short of amazing. Answered every single concern we had, and didn’t make you feel rushed like I’ve experienced at other vet offices. Today we even received and wonderful long handwritten card from her. I truly can’t recommend them enough! If you want over the top care for your fur baby, I’d highly suggest to bring them to St. Charles vet clinic!!!

I first left this practice when I brought my dog in, told the vet I didn't want her to get a kennel cough vaccination because she isn't around other dogs, he immediately tickled her neck so she coughed, then he told me she had kennel cough and charged me for kennel cough meds. He was going to get that money out of me one way or another. Fast forward about 8 years, I thought my dog had a tick so I called to see if I could bring her in right away, since my regular vet was across town. I got a whole bunch of pushback from the receptionist: you haven't been in some time, where do you take her now, etc., instead of: sure, how can we help? So I ended up taking her across town anyway. No need to come here; Animal House and MillBrook are far better

I had to downgrade my review because they STILL aren't allowing humans to accompany their pets inside the clinic. Personally, that seems ridiculous to me at this point. Other vets are fully open in the area and have been for some time. I'm sure not dealing with people is easier on them (only reason I can think of) but it's frustrating to me. It's not the same to have the vet give you a call after or have the vet tech explain while your sitting in your car. I've been a long time customer with multiple pets but I'm seriously considering leaving unless this policy is changed like ASAP. Can't imagine I'm the only one frustrated...

So I bring my puppy here today to the emergency vet because she ate some mushrooms in the backyard and was vomiting, drooling diarrhea the whole gambit. I arrived at 5:20 and called the number on the door to let us in. The woman on the phone told me the emergency vet doesn't open until 6. Ok. Fine. Can you see her and get the process started and when they arrive just transfer me over to them? She asked if I was a client. I told her I am not. She told me they wouldn't see my dog since I wasn't a client and to go to aurora or wait until 6. Are you kidding me??? I just offered to pay YOU to see my puppy on an emergency basis AND to pay YOU for any tests that may be needed before the ER people arrived. And I was told no. Aren't you in the business of making money besides the business of taking care of animals? Funny though.... I have 3 pets. It's a shame that they just brushed me off. They could have had 3 new patients. Not anymore. I knew they were useless if you weren't a client and had a pet in the ER because your dog could literally have two paws on the rainbow bridge with IVs in the arm and they would tell you to come get it out of there in the morning. I should have known better. Lesson learned. They obviously don't need any new patients and clientele.

We have been using St Charles Veterinary clinic for over 40 years. I cant say enough positive things about how they care for your beloved pets. We love all of the veterinarians there and use Dr. Vogel as our regular vet. She is an amazing vet and very caring about your 4 legged or 2 legged family members.❤
