When it came time to let or 18 year old dog go, we took him to Gateway Vet Clinic. The experience was horrible. Some of the doctors comments, that I guess were supposed to be comforting, we're completely out of touch. The doctors inability to get a needle in his leg made an already scared dog even worse. The bill included a $59 charge for a "quality of life" check. I'd have to say that this place knows how take a difficult situation and make it worse and capitalize on it too.

Cannot say enough about the wonderful, caring staff and doctors at Gateway! VERY dedicated to helping your pet like it's their own. Old fashioned respect for you and your pets, very good communication and follow through whenever you need anything. They have really gone above and beyond for my sweet boy, currently a cancer patient. Many calls to my home after hours by his vet, the practice owner, working tirelessly to make sure we had the best plan of action - and many hours of research and communication with other specialists on my pets behalf. You will feel like your dog or other pet is the only one they see. Amazing front desk staff as well , just really good people who care.

Poor experience my mom had to go through with Gateway, as she is old school and made an appointment by phone, writing down her appointment date and time. When the the time came, she called ahead to be certain Gateway was expecting us, and it turned out someone had moved the appointment to an earlier slot. When my mom tried to change it, the staff was not sympathetic at all, and even admitted to the mistake. They apologized but did not wish to honor an additional 15 minutes of grace period, as we were already on the way eventually missing the appointment. Due to the poor attitude of this scenario, we shall be seeking care for our pets elsewhere.

If I could give them 10 stars I would! I don't know what I would do without them. Best bet I could find for my two little cats. I have try so many vets NOTHING like this clinic. Thanks so much.

This is the best vet clinic I have been to. I have lived in Oregon, washington, Colorado, Texas and Illinois. No other vet has been as caring, friendly and helpful as they are here at Gateway. They really care and are not money grabbers like most. They are more concerned with getting your pet the best of care.

Dr. Klepitsch was recommended by a coworker of mine. My wife and I just got our first dog. She's a rescue, and we wanted to take her to a veterinarian to see how healthy she was. Dr K took an hour to answer all our questions. He gave our dog a full exam and explained what he would recommend to keep her healthy. We talked to him about what food she should eat, what vaccines she needs and whether or not pet insurance was worth the cost. He took the time to answer all our questions and explain things to us. We're first time dog owners, so it really helped to get a veterinarian's opinion on all our questions. The staff was really kind. Caitlin was the technician who assisted Dr. K. She really helped our nervous dog. We're so glad to have found such a great veterinarian.

This practice came recommended to me after I had a horrible experience with the practice I was seeing. It was like night and day. From the first phone call to the completion of the appointment I could not have been happier with the service and care that was received. Highly recommend!

I have had experience with many of the doctors here. All are excellent and really care about my pet. The staff is wonderful as well!

I've been using Gateway for many many years. Even when I moved out of st.Charles I still make the drive back. They are very friendly, kind and always treat my babies the best. They are genuine and honest. If you are looking for a great long term Vet I highly recommend them. They are honest and I will continue to use them for many more years to come.

Thank you Gateway Vet Clinic!! Your staff are amazing, responsive, patient, and kind! Dr. Vlakancic is such a wonderful doctor, caring, through, amazing clinical skills, with the capacity to explain complex medical issues with non medical clients. Truly appreciate all they have done for all our animals over the years!!! The protocals they have put in place during the pandemic have been excellent with sound medical backing. With much appreciation!
