My father was a local minister who officiated many funerals for Staab Funeral Homes. He always spoke highly of the family and the services they provided to others. When Dad passed away last month, Paul and the entire Staab family enveloped our family, grieved with us, and cared for us beyond our expectations. We experienced firsthand the excellent care, compassion, and support that Dad had witnessed over several decades. The Staab family will always hold a special place in our hearts.

My mom’s wishes were to be cremated, but she did not want any services. Paul Staab and the rest of the staff were amazing. Paul was so caring and handled the cremation, obituary, and prayer cards for us. I would highly recommend Staab Funeral Home.

Absolutely the best people at the worst time in your life. I cannot say enough good about them. A family owned business, you become like family. You can’t get this level of service just anywhere. Jenny was amazing. Very highly recommend.

I'm writing to you today to express my sincere gratitude for the outstanding care and support that you and your team provided to our family during the recent loss of our son, Mark Phillip Gleason. From the moment I called your office on the afternoon of November 16, 2023, you and your staff were there for us every step of the way. You helped us navigate the complex and difficult process of planning a funeral, and you provided us with the emotional support we needed to cope with our grief. We are especially grateful for the way you handled Mark's funeral service. You perfectly captured his personality and spirit, and you created a beautiful and meaningful ceremony that will be cherished by our family forever. We know that no words can truly express our appreciation for all that you have done for us. However, we want you to know that we are truly grateful for your compassion, understanding, and support. The Gleason Family.

Staab family was extremely sensitive and professional when we lost our mom suddenly. Paul was our direct contact and he did everything to make our moms arrangements seamless. He took care of everything. After a few weeks they reached out to us personally to check in on us. Highly recommend them as they are family owend and have not lost touch with the personal side of death.

I would recommend Staab Funeral Homes for your and your loved ones/families funeral needs. My husband is from the Springfield, IL area. I am not. We do not live in Springfield. However, my mother in law did; and her request was for Staab to make the arrangements. It is my understanding Staab is a family owned/ran business. Our interaction was very helpful and professional when making arrangements for my mother in law. The members of the Staab team were very kind and patient when answering our questions. They were very helpful in explaining the process of my mother in laws wishes, the cost, and the expected time line for completion. Since we live out of state, it was greatly appreciated that Staab arranged for my Mother in Law's ashes to be mailed to us. Two reasons for a 4 star rating as opposed to a 5 star rating: 1. Remembering that funerals are a business. I was a bit taken back when handed a brochure/magazine with different kinds of memorabilia that could be made from ashes ie: bracelets, keychains, paperweights, fingerprints, etc. I feel in the moment of a loved one passing away this is A LOT of information to absorb. Just the sheer sticker shock of a cremation in this case, made us say an immediate "no" However; I DO feel like this is a great idea and a great service to offer loved ones/family. Now that some time has passed and we have been able to process HER passing, looking back; a keep sake would have been nice. I wonder depending on timelines, if a follow up call could be made in 2-3 days after funeral plans have been arranged to make sure no keepsakes are wanted. This just allows a little more time for people to process the information. 2. The other reason for a 4 star rating is: We had it arranged that my Mother in Law was to be cremated. During our meeting we were asked if we wanted the ashes divided up. We decided to have the majority of her ashes in one large container, and then some of her ashes in 3 separate small containers. This was written on the receipt, and paid for in full. Unfortunately, when my mother in law arrived in the mail, there was only one large container and no ashes divided up in 3 smaller containers. With that said, we are very appreciative of the quick response in setting up a meeting with us to make arrangements so quickly since we are out of state. It was also very appreciative to have phone calls and updates provided to us via phone call on the timeline of cremation and ashes arrival. Overall I would recommend Staab Funeral Homes.

Our loved one passed away living in a different state than us. We had no idea about funeral homes in the area. We were referred by family and they were spot on. This was the most warm, caring, helpful funeral home I have ever worked with. I felt comfortable the moment I walked in. I would recommend Staab Funeral Home to anyone that unfortunately needs their services. They will take wonderful care of your loved one and you!

Paul helped us through process of laying my Dad to rest as we were family. He didn't pressure you to buy anything you did not want/need. Everything went smoothly. Very attentive to your needs. I'm glad they were able to lead us thru the services and the procession to the cemetery. Staab is respectful and compassionate in what they do. I recommend Staab wholeheartedly. Thank you.

The Staab family provided our family with the greatest care and comfort when we lost our mom. From the respectful care of our mom to her arrangements and through the service, they made sure we were always taken care of. They are kind and compassionate. We were able to take our time and say goodbye to our mom without stress or worries. Thank you, especially to Paul and Parker, for your professionalism and respectful care and time you spent with our family through the whole process. God Bless you.
