We had a wonderful experience boarding our dog here! Penny and Rick are amazing. Your dogs will be taken care of when you board here. Their prices are great as well. We had gotten back from our trip late and Rick was willing to go back after hours so we could pick up. They are very accommodating to you and your dogs needs. Definitely recommend and will use them again!

Very rude personnel. The employee treated me as I was dumb. I have had dogs all my life. I would never leave my dog there. I might as well leave them at home by themselves. They are only there for 4 to 5 hours with the dogs. Then the dogs are by themselves. A camera can not tell you if a dog is sick.

I’ve gone here before and last time wasn’t bad, but we brought our 7 month old german shepherd this time for a week while we went on vacation. When we got him, he was covered in his own feces, which I wouldn’t mind, but it seemed like it was caked on for several days. I wouldn’t expect a full on bathing/grooming service done, but at least a hose down. I’m kind of disappointed.

This is a bit delayed as I haven’t lived in Illinois for a few years BUT! When I did, we took our Remy to Rick and Penny for several years and never had a single problem. They were ALWAYS accommodating, kind, and amazing. Remy is a picky dog and doesn’t like just anyone. He LOVED them and I never felt bad about leaving him with them. He always had a great time. I wish we had a Rick and Penny here too. 10/10!

This was our first time boarding our 1.5 year old Husky who can be very difficult and temperamental. Rick and Penny and their staff were OUTSTANDING. They kept us updated when we called to check on him and even accommodated our early return for pickup. HIGHLY recommend them, especially if you have a finicky pup like we do. We will definitely be using them in the future!

We’ve been here couples of times, my dog really like it and enjoyed ober a month (maybe 1 1/2 months) we’re gone to California, Penny was polite and the price is really reasonable, we will be back for sure, thanks K9

Absolute garbage. Upon booking, staff stated they took pit bull mixes. Read a review 2 days before our reservation stating that they do not take any pit bulls or mixes. Called back and left a message, and when I finally received a call back, the lady rudely stated they do not take pit bulls or mixes. She then proceeded to ask if we “used our pit bulls for fighting or were they pets”.Do not go here.

Called to check about boarding - they do not accept any pitbulls whatsoever, so don't bother calling them.

Spoke to Rick on 3/30/22 inquiring about boarding our 98 lb pit bull mix rescue for 3 weeks in June 22. He was very nice, but hesitant about the size and breed our dog. I agreed to send him pictures of our dog so he could take a look. I sent 12 pictures, Rick promptly called back and said he looks like a good ole boy. April 18, 2022, called the facility to see if I could bring the dog out to visit as I had the day off. Penny answered the phone and invited us out at 3:30pm. When my daughters and I arrived we politely waited until Penny could step away and speak with us. She takes one look at our dog asked if he was a pit, I replied, “yes some kind of mix.” She replied, “we don’t do pits!” Imagine my shock! I told her I sent pictures to Rick, he thought the dog would be fine. All she had to offer was, “I’m sorry.” The bottom line is that it is fine if you don’t want to care for my dog because of his breed. On the other hand, I was relying on Rick’s word, he even put me on the books for 3 weeks in June. I’m so grateful I had wherewithal to visit the facility instead of taking Rick’s word. Very unprofessional.

Our boys love going to K-9 Dog Kennels. They are flexible & super easy to work with. Rick is wonderful with both of them which makes it a lot easier to leave them when we are out of town. They show a lot of compassion & respect towards the dogs. We would 100% recommend taking your dog(s) to them. We left out labradoodle, Buddy there for three days. They took really good care of him. It always smelled clean (which was something I was looking at) and he did well. Rick was very friendly and seemed to genuinely care about Buddy. He gave me a report on how he behaved. I will definitely use them again!!!
