I love Die Hard Games! It's one of the best LGS's in central Illinois, in my opinion. John, the (young and very attentive) owner, makes every casual commander night a great experience for me and everyone else who joins. They host a wide variety of events, beyond MTG, including Lorcana, Pokémon, and Warhammer 40k. I'd highly recommend visiting and supporting this business to anyone interested in tabletop gaming. 5/5 stars, 20/20 side eye.

2/5 stars. Heard about this shop from a few people in town prior to seeing the shop for myself, they weren’t lying when they said that Die Hard Games isn’t exactly friendly toward newer faces. Only a small number of players show up to the shop for their routine commander sessions, a total of 2 tables with 4 players per pod were available. The elderly gentleman running the shop seemed nice at first, but kept giving me this weird side-eye focus for the duration of my stay. It made me feel pretty uncomfortable. The group I sat to play with were friendly enough during pre-game conversation, but it definitely seemed like they were focusing their aggression toward me and one other player who mentioned that he was new to playing Magic the Gathering. I don’t think I would recommend playing at this game shop, unless the other two in town were closed or otherwise unavailable for MTG commander format.

This is what an old school gaming store should be like. Huge selection of miniatures. Tons of dice. Plenty of games in an organic environment. Great playing space, too.

A really fun and inviting atmosphere and always seem to have all the products you could possibly want or need. My son and I have gone in quite a few times now after discovering the place and the staff is always awesome and very friendly. We went in last night for the new Yugioh Rarity Collection as a reward for my son's good grades and the owner, whom I wish I would have thought to ask his name by now, gave him a very positive interaction just as always.I really, really like both this store AND its personnel!

Love this place! They have a large selection of table top gaming and card game supplies. If they don't have what you are looking for they can get it!
The people working here know their stuff and can answer you questions easily.
They have Dungeons and Dragons, Pathfinder, Magic the Gathering and a lot more here. Dice, figurines, terrain. Whatever you gaming beast desires!
This place has gaming groups that meet weekly to play if you want to join. Check it out.

This company is taking full advantage of the new release of Lorcana. Local companies are suppose to be supporting the release of this TCG and instead are more than doubling the mark up on things like the booster packs. It’s despicable a local company would do this to gain a quick buck. I will not be returning to Die Hard Games and I hope that others with follow because these practices cheapen the very premise they’re suppose to be promoting. As of August 28th they are charging 25.99 for starter decks and 12 dollars for boosters which is double the MSRP.

Little tight on space, but they have a beautiful shop dog that is soooooo friendly. Great selection of stuff and an awesome staff.

Very friendly staff even though they were incredibly busy. Was really nice to see all the people in there having fun. It was also really nice to see that they were LGBTQ friendly as someone who is openingly trans, actually got treated like a normal person which was refreshing. Can't wait to come back in and maybe work up the courage to join one of the many events that were on the calendar.

Great local TTRPG, Magic the Gathering, Warhammer 40K and miniature battle, and board game headquarters. John was super friendly and helpful, and Linus was the loveliest dog ever! So sweet! Of all the game stores in Springfield, I chose this one because the photo of a gentleman (name left out here) wearing an amazing suit and tie sitting at a table gaming, screamed, "My People!" Go check them out and look for custom gaming mats made by the unnamed photo gentleman. Highly recommend!
