I wouldn't trust them, I would not donate to them, and I would maybe look this organization up before donating to them.There is a shortage of Veterans Service Officers so you don't really have a choice on who you use at this time from any organization, but if you are a veteran you deserve better than what will happen if you attempt to use this organizations services.I found this process to be demeaning, and demoralizing. Kieth back around August September stated that they would assign someone to assist me with my supplemental claim. Got a call and a promise of paperwork that never happened.After that my messages to the veteran service officer were never returned nor was my text message. Three months later after a call to kieth.I get a call back as I am starting to get ready to drive, agent says he will call back the next day, and asks me if I can call someone else.Week later I call keith, agent calls back, asks me why he is ccalling me. Is dismissive, rude and describes his job as sending me the form and just mailing it to the VA. Makes it very clear he does not give a flying fig about the veterans he is supposed to help.I called back to kieth and I have to say as a veteran I have never fealt more like someone was trying to cut off your Cajones, than during that conversation with the threat of no service hanging over everything.Your choice whether you go here or not, if you are reading this you probably don't have a choice. I have friends in Washington, Oregon, Oklahoma, and Idaho who swear by AmVets, however this is Illinois.If you are reading this however that means you have doubts, If you have doubts you are most likely screwed because you are looking for other veterans to assist you and I fear what you have found is a lobbyist, with a small staff of VSOs who are trying to put in enough years to get a secondary retirement.For you, I just have to say I'll pray for you, and god help you. You do not need a veterans service officer with passion or compassion, it would however be nice to have access to professionalism.Week later
