“My husband and I came here for the first time. We’ve passed it several times and made an intentional decision to stop in. We bought the rib tips and the smoked chicken, and I’ll say we thoroughly enjoyed it. As bar b Que enthusiast ourselves, it met our standards. Better than anything in Chicago!!! Not smothered in sauce to hide the truth, just great smoked flavor. I also had the Parmesan kale Italian sausage soup. AMAZING! We will definitely be back! The customer service is great as well, the vendors in Chicago should come take a lesson or two on how to treat customers!! Amazing job, and we’ll definitely be back!”

There's so much they offer and everything is such great quality and the store is extremely clean and prices are pretty competitive to the big stores. “I have been coming to this location since being old enough to host Thanksgiving dinners, it's always the same, excellent! Those of us who know, understand to bundle up and have extra hats, hoodies, etc...in the car when picking up. Last year, the wait was pretty long due to social distancing but even before the pandemic there would be a wait that lingered to the sidewalk. Their food is just that good! I'd rather wait and know my food is good, than no wait and get home and be dissatisfied and trying to come up with something else! Keep up the great work!”
“This is a good corner store. I’m not from blue island nor do I live in it but whenever I go in, I always get treated respectfully. The owner has his mask on when I’m there and gets me in and out. I always buy their blunts and vapes for my gf. It’s always fresh and doesn’t taste old or expired like how some corner stores be. People wrote reviews complaining about food that they really should be getting at a GROCERY STORE, and not a corner store, but hey to each their own. Don’t give bad reviews based off of that. This place is actually one of the best corner stores in blue island.”
“I just discovered Alex's Butcher Shop and I LOVE IT!! The varieties of meat and cuts of meat are wide, varied and premium. I will make my stop into Alex's once a month to stock up on my meats and whenever I need something special like oxtails or rabbit, I will know I can find it at Alex's.”

“Great selection of meats at reasonable prices. I particularly liked their pork steaks; they're cut thick, and they aren't ragged like the ones you get at the supermarket. The staff were patient while I browsed, and helpful when I had questions. Also, they do accept EBT/Illinois Link, so I recommend checking out their bulk deals or their discount steaks.”
“Delivery drivers use the following route to get here:1) Take I-94 to Exit 71B/Sibley Blvd2) Go east on Sibley Blvd. Sibley Blvd and IL-83 split off at Torrence Ave. When you reach that split continue straight on Sibley Blvd3) Follow Sibley Blvd to Burnham Ave4) Left onto Burnham Ave5) Before you go over the first bridge take the ramp on your right to State St6) Take a right onto State St and follow to the customer on the left7) Best advice is to park on Plummer Ave behind the plant before checking in because they have "no truck parking" signs all up and down State St. The police are known to issue citations for trucks parked on State Street (even in commercial loading zones)Check in at the receiving office. They will call you with a door and call you when they're done unloading”
“Love this store, while the prices on regular pantry items seem to be a little expensive compared to other stores, the produce and meat prices here are great. I don't like buying the pre-packaged meat here. I only ever get taco meat. They're very friendly and the food is great here also.”

“I’ve never actually been to the store, instead I have always shopped online and just choose free local delivery. Our neighbor told us about this place, and we love it! Hands down some of the best meats I’ve ever had. The wife doesn’t like pork chops from anywhere but Whittingham!!! Another family favorite is the breakfast sausage! Yummmmm! Highly recommend this place for quality meats!”
