“I remember in the early 1960s my father took his pants here every week...parked out front and sent me and my brother in....they gave free lollipops... don't know if they do anymore....but a few years later my dad switched to the old Norge Village that used to be in Almar Plaza...no lollipops. There used to be a Gulf Oil station next to Charm Cleaners. I remember they had a big handwritten sign out front that said "white gas." Must have been there till at least 1965, because I could not read before then. I thought it meant that their gas was white. Did not realize till years later that it meant that they did not serve "coloreds". But Magnusson's Standard across the street did not discriminate. I think South Holland was still a "sundown town" back then.”
“I am always pleased with the mending I have done at CD One. I recently had my dress hem replaced. It was done very well and quickly. I've had zippers replaced and holes mended as well. Great work, great price and quick turnaround.”

“Best Cleaners in Homewood il did the alterations on my daughter's wedding dress and it turned out amazing! 3 times lower the cost than the wedding boutique she got the dress from. They made pillows to match the curtains I bought for my family room. I highly recommend them.”
“I dropped off my MK coat had cleaned due spilling sardine juice. They cleaned my coat it do not have a smell after receiving back.You can see a difference with it's color of coat it's been cleaned.”

“Great place laundromat, Clean place and great staff overall. My only problem is the machines. There is always more broken machines than working ones and this sucks especially when there is busy days. Other than that, this place is 9/10 at best.”
“I been coming here for roughly a year now and I would say I like coming here for the safe space and reasonable prices for the mechanics. Only thing is that there are no working bathrooms while we are washing clothes. During the winter time it’s no heatand during the summer there is no A/C.”
“Nice place - Clean BUT ALWAYS had a problem with my plates . Then when my plates changed I still had a problem with there plate reader. You can try it but once your plates dont get read it will continue to be that way. We cancelled our membership. They should just have a person sit out there letting ppl in with there badge. I will Recommend this place because staff were friend and never the problem.”

“Update: this is genuinely the best laundromat I have gone to! Through no fault of their own a water main broke on Commercial and while the city is working to repair it, I needed to do my laundry elsewhere. I can’t wait to be back! The staff working are always so sweet and helpful and the machines are always in good condition- they’ve added more and bigger machines which is so helpful!Very clean and liked that the machines accept card or coins. Staff was helpful.”

“I really like going here, on some days it's really busy and other days like today Tuesday at 630pm wasn't that busy and I lucked out with the washer I needed to get all my clothes done. And another cool thing about this laundry mat is that I know most of the women who work there, and for over a decade with a few.. All around clean, friendly, and affordable to boot! ? So a good place if you need to get an emergency load or a dozen of them done with no hassle. God is good ?”
“Robin and her team did an amazing job on my 150 pounds of Laundry ( No Exaggeration). I told her that I was allergic to Tide detergent and she created a special blend of soap for my laundry. My laundry looks and smells clean! Amazing pick-up and drop off service. The turnaround time was like 4 hrs. I recommend everyone to give this BLACK OWNED BUSINESS A TRY. You will not regret it.”

I called Lansing cleaners, and explained my situation, they called me the day before the meeting to tell me my garments were ready. Great customer service!!! Thank You!!!!”
“I have a favorite cold weather jacket that I have not been able to wear because of a missing slide on the zipper. After a few years with my jacket hanging in the garage, I actually considered tossing it. A friend suggested replacing the slide, not the whole zipper.
I took it in to Golden Needle Alterations, and Donna confirmed that it could be done. Thanks to my friend and Donna, I'm able to wear the jacket again.”
