Being completely honest, but I'm disappointed in Dogtopia and would NOT recommend this place to anyone who actually loves their dog. I brought my rescue dog, Oliver, here because he loves playing with other dogs, and gets very excited for the dog park!Oliver is extremely very gentle and loving. A bit too much. He is a lover, not a fighter. I thought this place would be prefect for him. Oliver has been there twice within a month, and both times he returned with visible injuries. First visit, a large gash on his back, and a bunch of little scratches on his body.I dropped Oliver off the first time.... When my husband picked Oliver up, and the girl realized the dog he was there for.... She said to my husband, "We didn't have any fights or anything like that today", immediately after she paged the back to bring Oliver out to go home. My husband said that is a very weird statement to make when he didn't ask or say anything to her, besides bringing Oliver out to go home.I have seen him play with dogs of all sizes and tempers for hours, and he has never had scratches like this, see pictures I attached!! The gash on his back was so deep that it left a permanent scar. Just a bad reminder of Dogtopia.I spoke to the manager, Dave, to figure out what happened and how we can prevent this moving forward. What a waste of time. He told me what I already know, and didn't even offer a refund or any resolution of any sort... He just told me, "Well, that's how dogs play and we do have staff that would break up any aggressive fighting". Then he went on to said they have cameras you can always check your dog.Yes, I know, I always check the cameras. They're poor quality, and constantly freeze. Maybe you should review the footage, since it's your job??When the cameras did work, Oliver was sitting by the door wanting to leave, or he was following a worker with his tail and head down. I know my dog and how he plays. Oliver would rather go to the Vet than Dogtopia. The second time I dropped him off, he didn't want to get out of the car, which definitely was out of fear. When he returned with more wounds, I called the manager.SEE ATTACHED PICTURES!!!!! Picture with the red circle is from today... over a month later.... His first visit was on October 22, 2023.According to Anderson Human in South Elgin, our dog was abused and thrown in the dumpster, all before we adopted him at 6 months old.He is 2 years old now, and improved so much..... but places like Dogtopia make it a priority to erase the progress, then deny any involvement to make a dollar. There is a reason they cost $40 per day.GO SOMEWHERE ELSE AND PAY MORE TO AVOID THESE PEOPLE!

I can confidently say every time I drop my dog off I know he is going to be well taken care of. He truly enjoys getting to play with other dogs but more so, all the attention he receives from each staff member. Every time I check the cameras he is getting tons of love. Not to mention, all the cute crafts he gets to participate in and bring home. Thank you for being such a trustworthy facility that both Milo & I can count on!

We have absolutely loved our Dogtopia experience. Our dog has separation anxiety which makes it difficult for friends and family to watch him for an extended period of time. Our relatives bring their dog to Dogtopia everyday for daycare and we knew this would be a great solution combined with them watching him each night.Pippin went to Dogtopia for two weeks straight while we were out of the country and loved it. We had so much fun watching him on the webcam everyday and getting updates from the team via "report cards" and photos. The team was super understanding of our situation and were extremely responsive via email as well as with working with our family member in lieu of us during the two week period. While he was there we had him get a bath, nail trimming and paw shave and the team did such a great job! We live in Chicago so unfortunately cannot go to Dogtopia on a regular basis, but would absolutely recommend them to anyone in the South Elgin area! We look forward to the next time we are out in the suburbs and can drop Pippin off for another fun day with his Dogtopia friends :)

Rosie loves the staff! She rolls onto her back for a belly rub regularly when I drop her off. They all seem to love her, too. I feel good about leaving her with people who really seem to care about all of the doggies.

Dear Dogtopia Team,I wanted to express my deepest gratitude for the exceptional care and support you've provided to my beloved dog, Mr. Axel. Your dedication to accepting him and helping him overcome his behavior challenges has been truly remarkable.Mr. Axel had a difficult start in life, having been attacked as a puppy. This traumatic experience left him with certain socialization difficulties. However, thanks to your expertise and patience, he's now on a path to proper socialization. He's not an aggressive dog, but he tends to get overly excited during playtime.I appreciate how Dogtopia has consistently gone above and beyond to ensure the safety and well-being of all the dogs in your care, including Mr. Axel. You've managed to handle his excitement with skill and professionalism, making every visit a positive experience for him.As a somewhat cautious dog parent, I can't thank you enough for the peace of mind you provide. You've not only helped Mr. Axel, but you've also reassured me that he's in capable hands. Your team's dedication to creating a safe and nurturing environment is truly commendable.Once again, thank you for your incredible work in helping my dog thrive and for making every visit to Dogtopia a joyful experience. I look forward to many more happy moments at your facility.Warm regards,AnnaMarie

100% agree that this place is focused solely on money and I would not recommend. I have taken my dog there occasionally since it's opened - not frequently as I don't need boarding or care regularly. I take care of my dog. Care needs SHOULD be more rare than frequent in my opinion. My dog has been there for play as well as boarding once. I requested a boarding stay today and within minutes received a call from someone who told me "since HE (my dog is a female) hasn't been here since January 2023, you'll need to have 3 play visits before boarding can be approved" to which my response was "but the boarding request is for next week...? " I was puzzled that they thought it was reasonable to bring my dog in THREE times for daycare before her stay one week away when she's played and boarded at their location previously and to my knowledge has never had any issue. She said yeah one day could be her first day of boarding.... interesting, what if on that 3rd day I am long gone out of state and you for whatever reason don't "pass her" for boarding?? seems that this isn't really about the wellbeing of the dog or other dogs. It does say on their website that 3 days is required before a boarding stay. I met that requirement and she has boarded there before. I have never heard of having to renew a mere 8 months later - to me that sounds like money motivation and nothing else. I said thanks you can cancel the request and she said Ok and hung up. Very odd and lackluster customer service.

Sarah the groomer does a great job taking care of our miniature poodle! The poodle's coat is very fine and tends to get matted. Other groomers would insist the only choice was shaving her to the skin, which left her with several cuts and lots of razor burn. Sarah always gets our dog cut nicely and without butchering her. The price is reasonable too.

dogs are cared for and loved by management and coaches only. the boss doesn't care about anything but MONEY. he made us wash the dogs in freezing cold water because he hadn't paid the water bill since october of last year. the ac was off and the spa was over 90 degrees and he didn't shut it down, dogs were so hot in there, the workers were hot. the dogs were not drying because it was so humid and hot and he didn't shut it down. he makes dogs injuries look like little accidents even though he knows exactly what happened and how your dog was severely hurt and he won't pay for the vet bill even though it happened under his care. kennel cough was spreading around the small dog room which is VERY over populated and unsafe. when said kennel cough was spreading he didn't close down to deep clean or anything he just left the dogs in there to contaminate the other dogs. unless management or a coach took them out because the cough had gotten so bad. don't take your dog to this ignorant man who only cares about money.

Used to go here and was very happy with it. Then I went through a divorce and I, the primary account holder, was removed from the account at my Ex’s request. When I requested to be put back on the account I was told they were not allowed to do that with my Ex’s permission, even though I owned our dog. I told them that was not something I wanted to do as it was not a good situation, and they refused to do anything to work with my situation. Will not go back as I do not trust that they will make sure my information stays private.

I never worry about my girls when they are here. The team is so friendly and caring. I take my girls 2-3 a week for years never a problem. Plus they are really good about screening dogs before they are allowed in.

Everyone is so friendly! We bring Belle, our 1 year old goldendoodle, to daycare and grooming, and she is always sad to leave. It seems like staff members really try to get to know the dogs they care for. Belle enjoys all of the fun activities scheduled on the daycare calendar each month, and I love that I can check in on her anytime through the cameras in the app. It really gives me peace of mind that I know she is safe and having a great time! I also enjoy taking advantage of the grooming packages, especially when they include fun bandanas, bows, and take home pictures like ornaments and magnets. It's also nice to know that if we ever need to board her, she's already comfortable at Dogtopia.
