Always a pleasure to go to a vet that cares. It is obvious they take the time to read the chart BEFORE they walk in the room. They know the questions to ask and check up on past ailments. They explain any procedures needing done and always explain costs before doing anything. I’ve never been so happy at the vets.

This place is HORRIBLE! My daughter in law put her doggie to sleep that she’s had since she was a small child. So this was her fur baby. THE OWNER gave my family a horrible experience. They weren’t empathetic and rushed the process as if they were at a fast food restaurant. This is a hard and painful situation for them so why would you make this a difficult process is beyond me! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE especially if you’re trying to make an easy transition of letting a loved one go! Do better Cleveland Veterinary Clinic!

I’ve been taking my dogs here for several years and recommending them constantly. Unfortunately, it seems like the last year or two, things have really gone down hill. February of this year, my puppy was choking. I called them in a panic and the receptionist that answered the phone had zero compassion and the only suggestion she had was to take him to the nearest emergency vet. The nearest emergency vet is 30 minutes away. My dog would have been dead. No offer to walk me through giving him cpr and zero, I mean, zero concern for their client. I ended up calling the vet that I have now moved all of my dogs to, while frantically driving to the nearest vet, ready to just walk in with him, & they told me they would see him immediately. That was strike one with Cleveland — how is a vet that I have never been a client of, more concerned than a vet we’ve giving thousands of dollars and several years of loyalty to? Next, I was driving home from work and thought to myself that I think my middle dog was due for her rabies. I called to set up an appointment and clarified that it was for her RABIES shot — I was driving so I obviously did not have her records readily available to me. I also advised the receptionist that I wasn’t sure it was expired. We get to the appointment, get in the room, the tech then says “okay so we are here for the lepto vaccine today, correct?” I correct her and tell her it’s for her rabies & she leaves the room and comes back and tells me her rabies isn’t expired yet — something that could’ve been told to me when I made the appointment since that information is literally in front of their face and I had already told them I wasn’t sure it was expired. So now, I’m in a position where I’m already going to have to pay the exam fee, I might as well do her lepto vaccine so we didn’t come here and pay money for literally nothing. Finally, today was my last and final straw. The same dog I brought in for what I thought was supposed to be her rabies, started having signs of a uti. Even though I didn’t want to, I figured I would call Cleveland and handle this situation with them instead of my new vet since she is the only one out of my 3 dogs that has yet to be seen at the new vet and I figured since Cleveland has seen her, I could just drop off a urine sample. I called at 8:10 this morning. Explained to them what was going on and asked if I could just drop off a Urine sample or if I needed to make an appointment — seems like a question a receptionist can answer. Well, the receptionist told me that they would relay the information to the doctor that was coming in at 8:30 and they would call me back and let me know. 12:00 rolls around and I have yet to hear anything, so I call again. This time, I’m told that the doctor that she has seen before is who they’re keeping her with and that doctor doesn’t come in until 12:30 and they will call me. It is now 6:30 and I have not heard from them. So, about an hour ago, I called our new vet (Bowes animal hospital— if anyone’s looking for a new vet) and they immediately got me an appointment for tomorrow afternoon and also told me I could drop off a urine sample now so that they could get it sent out tonight and have the results in the morning. This type of care that we are getting at our new vet is the type of care that we USED to get at Cleveland.

Dr Maloney is the most caring , best veterinarian I know. I have been taking my dogs to Cleveland Veterinary Clinic since 2012. I live in Elburn which is a distance from the clinic . However, it is worth the drive. Dr Maloney is wonderful and her entire staff is great. The ladies at the desk are always Very accommodating.
Everyone working there really loves animals.
