I'm blown away.The birthday cake we ordered for Christmas was by far the least expensive, less than half the price quoted by another 1st rate bakery well known in Elgin.It far exceeded our expectations in every way. And the customer service was so OMG. HelpfulWhy go anywhere else?

Second Christmas I made a pre-order from their bakery and they couldn’t even find it. Almost handed me someone else’s order to take. Update your ordering system away from hand written order forms that clearly get easily lost. Ridiculous. Definitely ordering from somewhere else next year.

Absolute worse experience here ! Tried to order a dessert assortment for a holiday party today 12-19-23. Lady taking order at bakery was soooo rude and unfriendly. Literally said "what do you want, I don't have time" We really needed it but decided to walk away. Obvious she didn't want to be bothered. I understand it's close to Xmas but it wasn't busy and there is no reason to be so nasty to customers.

Very good produce. You can find a great variety of specialty items too. And like most grocery stores they have like 12 checkout lanes and only 2-4 are ever used.

Regularly I make delivery orders and Issac is wonderful he fills the orders and delivers always communicates if there’s an outage and I make another choice. He definitely is a treasured employee at south Elgin Caputos Susan ruffolo

Nice place to shop. You'll find anything you need. Prices are not so low. But most items are of good quality. A very comfortable place.

Great selection. They have a lot of Italian choices here; cheese, pasta, sauces, and more. They have sushi, great breads, and amazing produce.My only issue is that their prices are high.

I can find anything I need here for different recipes I want to cook. The meat is fresh, which I appreciate. I won’t say names but there is another grocery store in the area whose meat seems old, nasty, not fresh. I can’t shop there anymore because I don’t want salmonella or food poisoning, you know those types of things.

Horrible Experience. I Bought A Small Basil Flower And I Went To Return It Because I Found It Half The Price At Trader Joe’s. The Manager Refused To Take It Back, Even Though He Knows That I Am A Regular Shopper Their. The Prices Are Skyrocketing, It’s Not What It Used To Be Years Ago Anymore.

We placed a catering order through La Bella Caputos and it was amazing. Not only was the food delivered exactly at the time requested, it was hot, fresh and delicious! Will definitely use them again for our catering needs. Thanks Caputos!

I have been shaping at Caputo's for a long time. I like the store, their produce is good and it's close to home. I understand that prices are double what they were two years ago and there really isn't anything we can do about it right now; however, when it comes to customer service I expect the best. I am not a "Karen" and very rarely complain but I was livid when I walked out of the store today. I bring my own bags when I grocery shop and put them on the belt before I place my items. The checker took the bags and tossed them to the other end of the counter and started to ring my items up. When I asked if we could please use my bags first she picked them up and tossed them back to where my groceries were being rung up. She was very busy talking to, I assume was a manager, about her days off and what days she would be working that next weekend. She just kept piling my groceries to the other end and pushing them so I went and started to bag my own groceries. I had three of my own bags and needed one more bag for the eggs and a bag of chips. She continued to "chat" with the other woman and handed me my receipt and said thank you leaving the eggs and chips on the counter. I finally pulled a plastic bag and put the two items in it. She said mam, I'm sorry; at which the other woman said "don't be sorry". I spent almost $90 on three bags of groceries and no meat to be treated that way. I understand things are more expensive everywhere but that being said customer service has gone down the tubes. I don't think I'll be shopping at Caputo's any more.

I'm tired of purchasing poor quality meats past their prime. Smelly chicken a week before the sell by date. Today, I mistakenly purchased refrigerated beef sticks that had expired 6 weeks ago. I should have checked before eating a slimey piece. I wish Caputo's was a fresh market. Time to go elsewhere.

Guiliana in the bakery needs some food safety training. She was sweeping the floor with gloves on. I was getting a pound of cookies, and she didn't change her gloves before she started picking the cookies. Then she had extreme attitude when I asked her to change the gloves because that is very unsanitary. I also find it very off-putting that I had to wait 3 minutes while she finished sweeping her little section before she even looked at me or acknowledged me and there were no other customers at the counter.
