This place is overpriced compared to Jewel and Aldi. During the pandemic they PRICE GOUGED the meats by double the price! I walked in the other day and the cashier (older lady) said, “You won’t shop here because the bags are .05 cents????” Literally paid $5 for a French loaf labeled in Spanish and everywhere else it’s $2.50 fresh. Save your money and go to Jerry’s fruit market! They had eggplant for $1.50 and jewel was .50 cents a lb. Anyways cashiers are always rude and WE WILL NEVER FORGET the price gouging. These guys charge for meat and deli like their Jewel Osco. Meat spoils quick too.

Fresh fruit and veggies all the time. Very organized and clean. The prices are reasonable. I go there 2 times a month because I live 45 minutes away. I wish I can give them 10 stars!

Update: it isn't even Chicago and they are charging for frigging bags now! Don't go here, go to Jerry's !!!!!!I don't go here as much anymore because they don't take back return items very well -- you have to put up a long argumentative fight with a manager for any returns and he will give you some long lecture, before considering you a refund, if he even does. In this day and age, as a loyal customer, you don't need that kind of a return policy - a mom and pop shop policy from the 1970s?? Pshhhh, naw.. that's outdated((((Previous reviews)))I've been spending $150 per week here since last September. I go here because there is very little slimy & slippery silicone contamination here on all the items (germ-x sanitizer, CeraVe lotion). Today there was a cashier who put slippery slimy CeraVe residue all over my items and bags. I had to wipe all that slippery crap off with alcohol. It only takes one person to contaminate the whole store with slimy silicone oil by using CeraVe lotions. If this slippery slime propagates, I'm going to stop patronizing this store because it is a major hassle to deal with--- my 5 star review before ---Great selection of meats -- chicken and beef here, very fresh and high quality. I always snag the meats when the expiration date reads 8 to 11 days ahead, and that is the freshest. The seasoning sauces, spices, ? canned tomatoes, etc all are brands that have been tried and true , that is, tasty brands only, so they really know their stuff. Also they should let the ? service dog person back in the store if she's been coming here no problem for 2+ years in the past. Nobody minds service animals, so just chill out and let the ? dog back in... Friendly experienced and helpful cashiersAldi is conveniently next door, so I always go to both places while price shopping ??️

I work across the street, it's convenient to walk over and get groceries. A small market with a good butcher and surprising variety. Lots of foreign snacks and deserts. I often find good deals on chicken and fresh fruit.

Folks were chucking corn husks on the floor when the manager decided to make an example by yelling at a couple of senior citizens. He yelled at them and even after they apologized he continued to harass them and he even kicked them out! I guess it made him feel like a man to pick on the elderly and not someone his age or size.Thank you Marketplace on Oakton...
