A very rude female employee demanded customers only try shoes on "in the middle of the store" no signs were posted anywhere stating this, nor do other Famous Footwear locations (or any other shoe store for that matter) require this. Additionally there are mirrors hanging all over so you could see how you like the shoes on, not in the middle of the store. It's odd and makes no sense to have to keep going back and forth to try shoes on. The employee cared less when I informed her that was ridiculous and would just go elsewhere due to this idiotic policy, especially with her incredibly rude demeanor to customers. I called cooperate to ask if this is a Famous Footwear policy and they informed me that it absolutely is not. So do not feel obligated to go to center of this store to try shoes on, it is some weird thing they are pushing and cooperate said that is incorrect and is not a policy customers need to abide by.Edited to add: I received a call this morning from management and they were very concerned and genuinely apologetic. I appreciated the phone call. She clarified again that it is definitely not a policy to be forced to try shoes on in the middle of the store.

There was absolutely no other customers in the store. I decided to bring my autistic child in to pick his shoes out. The fact that the store was empty besides the one person who walked in after us which made it less strenuous on my son. We sat on the floor as he leaned against the shelf. I'm lucky to get him to stay still at this point. The young man working at that moment explained that we could not block the aisle. Understandable if there were actually other customers in the store. I was about to buy two pairs of shoes for my son but decided not to. I got up and apologized and explained that my son is autistic and I was unable to get him to the seat because he was already uneasy from being in the store. The response I got was " you good". We walked out. All I needed was those few minutes to sit with my son and allow him to try on the shoe and actually be calm but instead we went over to Dick's and was able to try on several shoes while sitting on the floor where my son was over stimulated. My point here is the store clerk was not aware of the situation, however when I apologized and explained , he was very uninterested. We would have bought the shoes but not from a store that can not accommodate a few minutes. The store was empty , we were not blocking anyone or putting anyone at risk of being hurt!!! Won't go back.

Was looking for water shoes to get me through the rest of summer. Found 2 pairs I liked but they didn't have in my size. The cashier was kind enough to call a couple of their local stores to see if they had them, and they did. Dr.scholl's Cancun style is so comfy. I checked the price at other merchants and this store had the best price. They also have a nice selection of men athletic shoes. The colors were eye catching.
