Alex, the manager reached out to me and completely resolved and addressed the issues we had. To me, no one is immune from issues, bad days or bad experiences - they happen. The true measure of a well run place is how those issues, days, and experiences are addressed and Erik's stands out to me now. Not only did I get that second bike, but I know that I can confidently go back here for service knowing we'll be well taken care of.

Went in to buy a bike for my son after his bike was stolen, and first, we were there for at least 10 min without a single person even saying hello. I told my son to get someone to help us and the person who did, it was like he couldn't be bothered. I asked him to tell my son about the different types of bikes to help him decide what he wanted and he just asked what kind of bike do you want? I asked what size he needs, he tells us we need a medium, then brings out large and said don't worry it's fine. AND he really pushed another bike that I said multiple times, was out of my range for a 13yo boy, to the point where he brought it down to the checkout, leaving us alone to find the right bike on our own and was surprised that we didn't want the one he brought down and I said no to.
I ended up buying a bike because my son found one he loved, not because of Erik's.
All in all, I just expected a little more engagement - not doting, but I expected to be asked questions to help us find the right bike, tells us about features, and things like: How do you ride?, where do you ride?, what styles do you like? Instead, it was like we were a burden by being the only customers in the store at the time.
I was excited for my son to have an "experience" in choosing a new, nice, bike that wasn't from target, and would last and what I got was a target experience at a Bloomingdales price.
My biggest disappointment, though, was the fact that they didn't even offer fit the bike for him - adjust the seat, things like that. We were handed a receipt and shown the door. This is what they do at Dick's at least...
Coincidentally, I had my bike to trade in in the back of my Jeep because I wanted a new one, too. I didn't even end up telling him about that and even though I saw one I really liked, I was disappointed in self serve "experience" for a dedicated bike shop and I'll probably go somewhere else.
They do have a nice selection, though. I'll give them that. I just hate feeling like I was such a bother to them by dropping $700 in their store.

Customer service is amazing! Anything you need they will be able to help you with. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and quick to solve any requests you have. I recommend this place to anyone looking for the best bikes in the market, you won’t regret it.

Had my Aventon Soltera.2 outfitted with front suspension fork! I’m mostly riding in the city and it eases the rough roads and potholes significantly. Erik’s did a great job, put on a quality (RockShox) product and I rode it yesterday and it was awesome! Kudos to Erik’s service staff in Skokie!

I had a great first experience buying my first ever Aventon Aventure.2 e-bike.
I recently had the pleasure of working with Alex May, the assistant manager at Erik’s Bike Board Ski in Skokie Illinois.
His exceptional knowledge, customer service, and professionalism were truly impressive.
From the moment I walked into the store, Alex greeted me with a warm smile and a genuine interest in helping me find the perfect bike.
He patiently listened to my needs and preferences, taking the time to understand my cycling goals. I ended up ordering the bike!
Upon the e-bike arrival, Alex’s expertise was evident as he guided me through the various options, explaining the many functions and offered some great tips.
Alex's attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction were unparalleled. He went above and beyond to ensure that I had a positive experience. His ability to break down technical information into easy-to-understand terms made the decision-making process effortless.
I highly recommend Alex May and Erik’s Bike Board Ski to anyone in need of a top-notch bike shopping experience. His dedication to providing excellent service is truly commendable.
I only wish they had a closer location in the northwest suburbs.

I brought my bike here for the first time and the service was very timely, as promised. The mechanic/technician I spoke with was professional and attentive and explained all the services that they recommended. They seemed well versed in bikes and genuinely love to work on bikes. I rode out of there with a bike that practically felt brand new! I’m really grateful for an attentive mechanic, decent price point, and quick service.

Recently visited Erick’s for my bike tire replacement and gear shifting issue, and after receiving the bike I rode about 20 miles. Mechanics did very thorough job, now my bike runs smooth. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Highly recommend Erick’s for bikes. Pricing also reasonable.
