While on a cross country road trip, our car unexpectedly had an issue with our front bumper that left it undrivable. We pulled in without notice when the shop was closed and the manager offered to fix our car himself, securing our safety for the rest of our journey. He was so kind, generous and exceedingly knowledgeable. He refused payment, only wanting our safety and well being. Please frequent Mark’s Service Center!! They deserve your repeated business and respect for their business ethics.

My 20 year old car blew a head gasket, but I didn't know that because I'm not a mechanic, so I called this place for a tow to get it off the road and told the guy that it wouldn't start after overheating, I said I thought it was the radiator, but again, I'm not a mechanic. They go and replace the radiator before even getting it running to see what the problem is. Only after they get the new radiator in it, they attempt to start it, and because the actual problem was the head gasket, all the engine gaskets exploded, fluids everywhere, that's when they call and tell me my car is now toast and that I have to come in to make a decision about it. I bring the title and empty the car out only to be told that even if I hand over the title there was a bill for the labor/radiator they put into it. As nicely as I could I signed the title and handed it to the person behind the counter, and told him that we're square and walked out.
After they failed to test the car for typical issues related to the symptoms, they destroyed whatever value my vehicle may have had and had the gall to tell me I still owed them.
This is definitely the shop the car was towed to. BEWARE.

Had a repair done on my Toyota that ended up costing $300 more than the estimate I was given. I know estimates are just that, but $300 more... Really? I brought this up with management who put a free oil change on my account. A few weeks later I went in for my free oil change no problem. The work got done, but that estimate rubbed me the wrong way.

I found this auto shop online and I am glad that I did. I was a little nervous at dropping my car off at first because I am accustomed to bringing my car to an alternative auto shop in my hometown, but that wasn’t feasible for me. I dropped my car off for front and rear brake and rotor repair before they opened and the job was finished right before they closed. I paid the price I was told upon picking up my car. When I called to ask for updates on the work being done, I was informed promptly. My car drives great and I am back on the road with new brakes and rotors. Thank you guys so very much for your professional service. I will be back again.Services: Brakes

They have been doing work for me for at least 15 years. These guys are fast, inexpensive and honest. They are the only mechanics I trust.

My car broke down on the road out of town and had to be towed here. The next morning I received a call with an estimate. The car was repaired within one day. Thanks for getting the car back to me as I used it for work. I've taken my Subaru legacy to other shops and have always gotten poor service. This shop has always repaired my car correctly and for the most part promptly.

This morning my tire went out and wasn't holding any air at all. Thankfully I was right across the street and went over there hoping they could help. With in 15 minutes they repaired the hole in my tire and I was back on the road. They really saved me this morning for being in the right spot at the right time. Staff was professional and didn't charge me an arm and a leg for a repair. Thanks for saving my butt this morning!

Beware of Mark's Service Center. Under new ownership as of March 2020, and the quality of the work and customer service has gone downhill dramatically. The 5 star reviews from 2019 and earlier no longer apply. The old owner, Mark, cared about his business and customers. New owner came in, made his nephew the manager, and from what I can gather from my phone calls, the manager maybe gets there by noon and is out the door by 3pm on an average day, if he makes it in at all. When Mark owned this place, it was hard to find a parking place there because they were working on so many cars. Lately, it's been easy to find a parking spot. The Illinois State Police used to have their vehicles repaired there, but I don't see any ISP cars in their lot anymore. It doesn't surprise me. I have my own story about a them performing an incomplete brake line job in April 2020 (I didn't know Mark retired until after the work was done) and led to total brake failure and I had to crash the car to stop. (Totaled it). I hope everyone stays away from this place so they don't risk damage to their property or bodily harm.Service: Brakes

I would give no stars if I could because the service was deplorable and unacceptable. First of all it took forever to even get acknowledged by someone that works here. Then I was made to wait over 3 hours for a tire repair even though they weren't busy, unless they were working on invisible cars. Then they finally get to my tire, and supposedly repair it. Which they did not do correctly, because right after their supposed repair I had to go to a real car service center, where they told me that my tire was repaired with something that's only supposed to be used on lawn mower tires. And not the tire couldn't be repaired, it now had to be completely replaced. I will never return to this service center and will any and everyone I know not to give this place any business unless you want to have an even bigger expense in the near future.
