Wish I could write a zero star review. If I was literally dying I would rather go anywhere but here. The emergency room was under construction with absolutely no direction on where to go instead. Then the emergency room nurses were absolutely awful. I dont know how they got licensed. The whole experience was an absolute nightmare and I never ever want to go back.

Wait times are HORRIBLE !! Understaffed, there’s only one PA so your wait time is increasing to another 1-2 hours! & to add on there was a woman screaming in agony and pain that she needed help, her chest was tightening and she felt like she was about to die and they literally were walking pass ignoring her! Treating her as if she was “OVERREACTING” It brought me chills seeing and hearing her cry for help like that just to be ignored !! This is horrible, I won’t be back.

One of the worst hospitals I’ve been to. Service was terrible. Nurses were VERY rude! I had went in with a terrible fever and chills and headache and dizziness. Only to find out my Heart rate was high. Due to me being stressed. Therefore, these people do whatever they could to get more money from me by giving me so many different uneccesary tests. We then proceeded into the lobby where my wife and I waited almost 4 hours growing insanely impaitent and anxious. I then asked how much longer it would be and the nurse said “I don’t know.” I then got furious and said “well my wife and I have been waiting for almost 4 hours and I just wanted to know about the Covid and flu test results and we wanna leave.” She then said “well you can leave and your results will be on MyChart.” After all this time she could’ve just told me to go on mychart for my test results. Thanks for taking my money you scammers! Don’t let these people run uneccessary tests on you if you just want a Covid test. I recommend going to the Belleville hospital.

Liz the charge nurse at Memorial Hospital Shiloh. Liz was very passionate about providing outstanding patient care. Liz went above and beyond for my daughter Tyronda in labor and delivery. I could not be happier with her service. She deserves to be recognized ?

The ER staff tried to kill me giving me medicine on my allergies list. I have dementia and they would not let my care giver with me because they wanted no witnesses to my murder. Most hateful unprofessional people on earth. No waiting. No line. The word is getting out. Record everything and don't let your family alone in the ER. Doctor death is passing out poison pills at Memorial East.

I recently developed serious health symptoms that required treatment in an emergency department. I chose Memorial East because of my insurance coverage, the reputation of other BJC hospitals, and its proximity to my home. What a terrible mistake!! This hospital was NOTHING like the other BJC hospitals where I have received healthcare!!! The employees at this facility were curt, unprofessional, and combative!! Furthermore, the two physicians I saw weren’t direct hospital employees. Instead, they were rent-a-doctors from an outside third party.Sadly this community hospital is to be avoided!! It is an embarrassment and disgrace to the BJC Health System!!PS When i described my ordeal to friends, several of them echoed similar experiences and also vowed to avoid this hospital at all costs!

I never leave reviews, but the ER in this hospital doesn’t understand the concept of the word “emergency” as I have sat in the waiting room for over 5 hours in horrible pain. Gateway is a better choice over this.

I want to thank each and every person that I came in contact while I was in the hospital from June 1st to the June 6th. I was on the 5th floor and I've never had The quality of care that I received on that floor! That stuff was extraordinary kind considerate caring I don't have all the words to describe how good it was to be taken care of by that staff I want to thank each and every one of them for everything that they did for me and I mean that from the bottom of my heart! I also want to add any of the support staff that I was dealing with were just as kind and considerate. It had to be the best stay that I've ever had in a hospital if you can say that! Thank you very much for all that you did for me and getting me back to myself and helping me to recover it was such a pleasure to meet each and every one of you and I hope that we see each other someday in life along the way outside of a hospital much love to all of you thank you!

awful, waited four hours in the ER, only to be rushed & ignored. the doctor obviously wanted to just go home. they even x rayed the wrong area of where i mentioned my pain was. & when i asked the doctor if she could see the area in the xray, she gave me the runaround, saying the area i was describing was “too large”. she gave me a pill for the pain, which i didn’t want to take even though the pain felt as if i was being choked in the neck only because i felt i was being ignored. i took it anyway and it did absolutely nothing, probably because the nurse cut it in half beforehand. the nurse threw my blood pressure reader on the floor & left it there as i was leaving, pretty unsanitary. there was a hair on my bed before i even touched it.they basically said since i wasn’t “emergent” i should go to my primary physician.the nurses at check in was the only good experience of this all. sweet ladies. the free wifi and charging station are the reason for the one star.even the bathroom looked dirty.never coming back, will not recommend to anyone. do not come here if you want to heal, they obviously don’t care about the patients

We had such a positive experience with all the labor and delivery staff. Everyone went above and beyond with their quality of care. I wish we could thank them enough.

Place runs a scam!!! Brought my son there for stomach pains and come to fined out it wasn’t nothing serious . We were there for 2 hrs and they literally did nothing for an hr just monitored him. Seen the doctor once the whole time we were there. Get a bill for 300$ from the hospital. ok find and dandy my co-pay is 300$ for a ER visit nothing unusual, but then get a 2000$ bill for physician cost!!! Thought to myself some error happened and I’ll call since they are in Network. NOPE Come to find out they said the doctors are billed separately!! They said they have a contract between the doctors and the hospital and my insurance won’t cover it. Wife asked shouldn’t we have been notified when we gave you our insurance card before we made it to the waiting box well it’s probably on the wall somewhere. The last thing we are looking for when we are taking our child to the ER. Place is a joke should have just took him to urgent car and saved my self 1970$ with better care!

My husband had an MRI today. The staff members, Da'Nisea & Murtada, were cheerful & professional at 0630. He even had his choice of music. Two thumbs up.

I have read the reviews on this hospital. I thought about it twice not going to lie, before coming here because of the reviews but, I took a my chances because of the severely pain, that I had and let me tell you this hospital here and the staff, nurses and the doctors all have taken fantastic care of me from start to finish. I was speechless and extremely satisfied and super happy I did. It started off a little slow but after three hours of them getting all my lab works, the speed and the accuracy that it took them to take care of me was flawless, so please everyone that’s left bad reviews I understand. But take your chance give them a chance they have been great. I fully recommend this hospital.
