My family and I look forward to our week here every year! It's a beautiful place to get away without being out in the middle of nowhere!

I had a fantastic experience at Shabbona Lake and Campground in Illinois. The lake is absolutely beautiful, and the picnic areas are perfect for a relaxing day out. The surrounding trees add to the natural charm of the place. A great spot for enjoying nature and spending quality time outdoors.?? Playground: Well maintained playground area.Restrooms: Clean restrooms ? ?.Dog-friendliness: Dog friendly ?.Picnic area: Stunning picnic area.

We took a drive through Shabbona this Friday morning. We had not been there before & wanted to check out boating regulations, boat ramps, lake depth, etc. We went into the Bait Shop & the men were great answering our questions. I was surprised they sold live bait & also did boat rentals. He confirmed the HP limit was lifted in lieu of a slow wake regardless of your boat motor hp. Good to know! Also good to know is that they sell alcohol & other drinks as well. Overall the park/lake was beautiful & we definitely would come back to fish.

We enjoyed our stay! Would recommend campsite #99. This campsite is right next to the shower house so you have access to running toilets! The rest of the bathrooms on site are out houses. A nice lake for fishing, boating, and kayaking but this is not a swimming lake. Each campsite does have electric as well.

Nice campground with weird reservation policy. Can't use open camps on the day of arrival by the lake. We were told they had to be booked 3 days ahead. Makes no sense. Nice store.

Big lake with 2 boat launches. Caught fish everytime ive been here! No wake lake. Nice, clean, and quit camp grounds. No alcohol allowed in the park. Nice playground for the kiddos. Dog friendly. you just have to keep them on a leash. The restrooms in the fcfs area smelled pretty bad but clean for what it is. The restrooms in the shower house way better. Good showers. I heard they put in a great 4th of july show!Playground: Decent size playground. I believe they clean daily.Restrooms: Some are cleaner than others. Recommend using the ones at the shower houseDog-friendliness: Dog friendly. I really didn't see a good spot for my dog to play (she loves chasing the ball). Must keep them on a leash.Picnic area: Picnic tables at the site were nice and sturdy. Also handicap accessible.

Beautiful, healthy lake. Atmosphere here is very relaxed and fun. There were a lot more fishing boats on the water than I expected for a Thursday afternoon. Can't wait to go back.

We've been to Shabonna Lake several times, but in basing this review on the camping experience. The site we had was very nice, with lots of grass. Many sites are not this way, having only gravel. So if you're tent camping, be aware of this. All sites have electric. The bathrooms don't have flushing toilets and are really unpleasant. Bring a bucket for nighttime, as there are no lights in the bathroom. We had some loud campers several sites over, many kids yelling until 2am. Then there was a couple arguing at around 5am. I was surprised no one was coming around to check sites, noise, etc.All in all we had a great time. There's a kids fishing pond and other activities for kids. People in the area are generally polite. We'll be back.Restrooms: Non flushingNo lightingSmelly

Pokanoka's restaurant is an absolute gem for me and my motorcycle group. As a family-owned establishment, they consistently deliver delicious food and boast a friendly staff who go the extra mile to bring your meal right to your table outside. Whenever my friends and I embark on our Shabanam lake rides, we never miss the opportunity to indulge in a delightful lunch at this fantastic restaurant.

The past weekend was my second time camping here and I enjoy camping here. It’s a nice place to hike, lots of elevation. We camped at the youth campground with the Boy Scouts and it takes almost 6 miles to hike to the fishing dock and back. I totally recommend coming here to camp.

Even in the winter, the lake is very pretty. The tent campsites are also well maintained.

They have a volleyball net and small playground but nothing else for kids to do. I say it's more of an adult campsite. It is beautiful park.
