I took my car to this place due to the good reviews I saw online, and I wanted to hear about a different perspective since I have always taken my car to the same place with little car knowledge. I had my power steering pump replaced about a month and a half ago. Everything seemed fine for about two weeks, but then my steering started stuttering and was making squeaky noises.
I took my car to my usual mechanic again, because ONE: they failed to communicate to me that they didn't even have the proper tools to align the steering wheel so I had to drive with a bad wheel for a few days. TWO: I heard a few times from them that they only had like 1-2 mechanics and that they would often call off.. of course I felt skeptical to come back...
My usual AAA mechanic found that the fluid had become aerated and the o-ring was split, which pointed to an improper installation. They had to flush the system and fix the problem to prevent further damage.
When I called this place again, the first two men were nice and tried to reassure me they were going to relay the message to their boss, but nothing got back to me so I called a third time on the 3rd day. The woman that answered kept cutting me off instead of trying to listen first, and was questioning me why I even took it to their shop, if I already had a mechanic, victim blaming me instead of wondering what their own mechanic did. I'm sorry I wanted to give this place a shot instead of my usual! I guess you don't want to gain new customers.
For now I am waiting for their boss to get back to me, if they ever do. They keep saying they will tell their boss but nothing has happened so far.

Based on previous reviews of this place and how long they've been in business, I figured they would be easy to work with. While Reuben was very nice, the communication from this place was ultimately abysmal. I brought my car in first thing on a Saturday for a window that wouldn't go up. They said later that day that they hadn't had time to fix it, but they got the window back up and disconnected the power and to bring it back another day. No problem. I brought it back the following Friday first thing in the morning. I didn't get an update call, so I reached out around 4pm asking if there was an update. I was told that Reuben had been working for 13 days straight and hadn't started on it yet and I would get an update when they "had stuff to tell" me. I heard nothing else, so I called them back at 8pm when they were closing since I needed my car back and i never told them they could keep it overnight. I was told again that Reuben was working for 13 days straight and I could leave it over the weekend and he'd work on it on Monday. Otherwise, I had to pick it up in 30 minutes before they close up. Would they have called me to tell me to pick it up? I doubt it. When I got there within 5 minutes, it was in the shop itself and had to be moved back outside. So, essentially, they were going to kidnap my car until Monday without telling me. Oh, and even better, they reconnected the window that is still broken without telling me, so it gets stuck down again. I've worked in customer service so I understand things can get busy and things happen, but you have to communicate! I'm sure they knew 3 hours before that they couldn't get to it and yet they didn't tell me to pick up my car.

. YESTERDAY I WENT TO MARATHON TO GET AN OIL CHANGE AND HAVE THE MECHANIC CHECK THE FLUIDS. THE MECHANIC CAME BACK IN THE LOBBY APPROXIMATELY 2-3 MIN LATER SAYING. YOUR CAR WONT START AT ALL! MY VEHICLE RUNS EVERY DAY FROM SITE TO SITE ALL THROUGHOUT THE CHICAGO LAND! HE SAYS HE CLEARED SOME LIGHTS.RESET THE COMPUTER. AND NOW THE CAR WOULD NOT STAY RUNNING .THE CAR KEPT SHUTTING OFF! THEN HE SAID SOMETHING ABOUT THE THROTTLE, HE WIPED IT WITH A DIRTY RAG. IT STARTED RUNNING BUT NOW IT SHUTS OFF AT EVERY STOP LIGHT! WHAT DID THIS MECHANIC JAY DO TO MY VEHICLE?? THEN HE SAID HE WILL LOOK TO FIND THE PROBLEM FOR $ 145 THEN ADDITIONAL PRICE FOR WHATEVER HE FINDS....A TOTAL RIP OFF! FYI.... LARRY AND DAN ARE NO LONGER THE OWNERS. FROM THE RECENT PRICE INCREASES TO THE BAD SERVICE SOMETHING HAS CHANGED IF I WERE THE PREVIOUS OWNERS I WOULD REMOVE MY NAME ! FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENTS!

This has been my second time stopping by this Marathon. First time was for a tire I got patched about a year or so ago. Super helpful over the phone and with the service. I stopped by today to fill my tires with air, and appreciate the help since I was having issues. I was in and out and got a few pointers and questions answered as well. These people are the best. I entrust them with any problems I have. I don't even live in the area anymore, but that has never stopped me from using them. I live 45 minutes away. Jay is my guy and he's awesome. They are very fair and honest. I never feel cheated here. You'd do well to get your car worked on here.

Good service for a good price. Car needed new brakes and an oil change. It's first come first serve, so I waited in the library from 10:30 to 4:30 until my car was fixed. Been coming here a few times and service is always great.

I have always found great service ata fair price. I get my oil changed here , recently had my brakes repaired. I was informed of price beforehand and that didn’t change. It was finished on time and my brakes are great now. They are honest and go well above and beyond. I will continue to do business with them and would recommend to anyone.
