I booked a color service with Paris at Luxe Salon and trusted her professional judgment after she kept reassuring me about the “health of my hair.” During the process, she did a test strand that clearly showed damage — my roots stayed curly while the rest was visibly flattened. Despite that warning sign, she went ahead and bleached my entire head without asking about my bleach history until she was already rinsing the color out.
Afterward, when I reached out about how brittle and damaged my hair felt, instead of taking accountability, she became rude and unprofessional, outright accused me of lying about my hair history, and placed the blame on me. Her only suggestion was that I buy more products to try and “get my hair back,” as if the results were somehow my fault.
Though I was given a partial refund, that does not undo the damage to my hair or the unprofessional way I was treated when I raised my concerns. Weeks later I’m still trying to repair the damage and move forward. Clients deserve honesty, accountability, and care — and unfortunately that was not my experience here.

If you care about the health of your hair I wouldn’t recommend booking with Paris. My friend spent over 9 hours getting her hair bleached, and the end result was extremely damaging. Her hair is now so fried that she is considering cutting it into a pixie just to fix it. The color also came out uneven, with multiple tones that didn’t look professional at all. I’m not trying to bash anyone, but based on this experience, I’d say it’s best to avoid booking with Paris as the lack of technique and professionalism has been a horrific experience.

I called asking about if anyone there could do a short pixie, with or without a perm because I’m currently natural. I was told no one else did short hair except Tamara and a Tiffany I did send a text message to Tiffany but NEVER hear back from her 😑 which in my opinion is very unprofessional. Tamara did explain that she was trying to get away from doing short hair styles, which was ok I just feel it could have been more professional. It’s already hard to find professional black hair salons in Illinois!

I came across this salon in need of help. I called but I didn’t get no answer. A few hours later I get a text message saying this is Tamara from the lux studio how can I help. I explained my situation to her through text message saying how I wanted to cut off my locs and have my hair cut into shape so that I can style it. I described my hair as having 4c hair, I know 4c is not easy to work with but if you offering services to different demographics and you say you are a hairstylist, the hair texture shouldn’t matter . I never received a reply back from the mobile number i followed up with.
The following morning I texted the mobile number to see if she could be accommodating and no answer I even sent a video from YouTube of the exact same process that should happen with cutting my locs as also known as “The Big Chop” , no reply. I advise if you are African American, black don’t even bother because I didn’t even receive service but from the lack of communication it says it all. Don’t go here my sisters they will ruin your crown. If needed I would say look towards more areas that have more of a black demographic that’s knows black peoples hair. I give no stars!!!

The stylist name is Paris but she gives SKID ROW SERVICE!!!!!First and last time I will ever visit this salon.I booked via styleseat and this is the second time I had a bad experience with a stylist booked through said styleseat.I booked a flat twist updo for a 4:20pm time slot.The service was $96 dollars.I was contacted by Paris at 1pm asking if I wanted to come at 3pm due to a last minute cancellation.When I arrived I was told I had to pay extra for a “primary or busy time slot charge”? Styleseat didn’t mention this charge during booking but I really needed my hair done so I agreed .I arrived at 3pm ish and left the salon at 7pm.Paris cannot do flat twist !!!!even though she has pictures on Styleseat that says otherwise.She gave me a blow out which was weird because I always get a flat twist updo and I’ve never gotten a blow out before twisting.I asked for a trim because I just took my braids out.I should’ve known the twist wasn’t going to look good when she started blow drying my hair before I asked for the trim.She didn’t add any products to aid in my hair being dry so the twist can look neat .She had those long Praying mantis nails that made it impossible for her to tightly grip my hair.I asked to look at the back of my hair and it looked half way decent but the front twist was sloppy.It really looked like my 16 year old niece asked to practice flat twist in my hair. I told her I didn’t like the style .She asked what I wanted to do and I told her I’ll take the style down in front of her and I’ll just pay for the blow dry and trim.She still managed to charge me $96 for a style I didn’t receive.$72 for a blow out and $24 for a trim.Girl really???!!!God don’t like ugly and he ain’t too fond of pretty!!!!Whether you believe in him or not please believe what goes around comes back around!!!!!!You get back what you put out ..Simple

My 12 year old daughter cut her hair short in different places and it was a mess. Tamara cut it and styled it perfectly so you can’t even notice anymore! We were in & out & everyone was pleasant. Definitely making another appointment soon! Thanks Tamara!!Services: Hairstyling

This place used to be amazing. Prices have gone way up but quality has gone down. Whenever I call during the day to place an order whoever is running the phones ALWAYS hangs up on me and says "you go online, no call, no call"Even the miso soup isn't as good as it used to be. I ordered like $38 worth of food and delivery driver had no change so the mediocre food cost me $50. I definitely won't be coming back. It's a shame because I used to LOVE this place.
