DO NOT BANK HERE!!! My black wife deposited an $18,000 cashiers check from Wells Fargo here and the manager, Joan, put almost a 20 day hold on it for no reason other than it was her “discretion” because of recent fraud and she told our regular bank manager that she was refusing to release the hold. Joan even had us calling our regular bank saying they were the only ones who could release the hold, then she said it was the bank who wrote that check that put a hold on it then we called Carvana just to find out that it’s actually a cashiers check and is already paid out. Do not bank here if you are black. You will be deemed suspicious of fraud.

Super easy to open a account, interest pays on the 1st every month as expected. Everyone at the bank was nice and made opening the account easy. Their app is really easy to use and mobile deposit I haven’t had any issues. Overall a really good experience for about 3-4 months now.

Since the merger this place has been an absolute mess. The people that work in this branch are nice but there is no organization and they have no idea what they are doing. Every time I have a problem they have to call someone else and we all have to wait on hold for “Sorry, there’s nothing we can do.” The mobile app is a joke, if you’ve been overdrawn once and deposit a check on the app they will hold it for weeks and tell you there’s nothing they can do. I preferred first Midwest so I stayed. Save yourself time and headaches, find a different bank.

I have been a customer for over 20 years now. And the ONB personal banker refuses to speak to me via phone. Amazing(?) customer service. Will be closing all my accounts soon. Personal and Business.

Went to Schaumburg branch to close out two accounts after my sister's passing. Had all the proper documents. I spent over 2 hours there waiting for them to process the request. They had no idea what they were doing. Her estate is in probate and asked for documents, as it wasn't. Luckily I do not personally bank there. What a great way to waste a chunk of my day off.Later that day I went to the Buffalo Grove location, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Kelly knew exactly how to process the transaction. Maybe they should call there and ask for a lot of training.Avoid Schaumburg like the plague!

Zero stars if I could. I used to bank with First Midwest. I understand the call demands are very high right now. My Zelle got locked and I sat on hold for 2 1/2 hours for two days in a row to finally get a response on day two, gave all my credentials and they said “I need to place you on a brief hold” and hung up on me.

The people are nice. Very friendly. I have had the account almost two months now. The problem is the online banking app, it has rejected many of my checks(the deadline is 6 pm). This forces me to go to the bank to cash my checks, since I get out of work after the bank closes I have to wait until Monday for money. So i must now go elsewhere to bank.

This bank cleaned out my daughter's account with automatic tuition payments after she had a nervous breakdown. They wouldn't let her close her account until there was only a few dollars left.
