“You can always get some great deals at dollar tree, but the atmosphere of the store is always just... super depressing none of the employees ever seem happy to serve you.”
“One of the most organized dollar tree I've seen. The employees are super friendly. You can spend hours looking at everything. Amazing selection I found what I was looking for.”
“They finally updated their location about a year ago. This used to be one of my favorite DTs before the pandemic, but they started "Falling Off" years before the pandemic. The location started to feel "Low Budget" meaning, they barely had anything and the stock was always low. I actually stopped going to this one. But they are now back on track and the stock is always healthy.”
“The other day it was so busy and there was only one cashier named Diane. The line went all the way back to the fridge. Customers were very nasty and rude with her. She was very friendly and has great customer service given how other customers were treating her. They definitely need more assistance but there was no one else there.”
8AM - 10PM
785 W Golf Rd, Des Plaines“Love this Dollar Tree. Staff is great and the store manager Servando is awesome with excellent customer service he went out his way to make sure I found what I needed. Thank you.”
“This dollar tree is clean and well organized, with helpful associates. I found everything I was looking for - always a bonus. The best part, though, was the shopping carts. They didn't have the big poles attached to them that I've seen in other stores. That's the main reason I'll shop at this dollar tree.”
“My go to Dollar Tree. Even though the Dollar Tree on Golf Road in Des Plains is closer, I like this one much better.
Always seems to be clean and organized. Customer Service is always very good. Great parking too .”
“Love this dollar store. Has so many nicer quality and just more varitety of party favors, goodie bag items, decor, food, etc. Just really sad the prices went up. Doesn't feel like a dollar store anymore when you need 10-20 items+.”
“Great store , has a little of everything , very clean and the guy running the register was so nice and very helpful. Nothing bad to say about this store. Definitely recommend this store if your in this area.”
“I am giving 5 stars to the manager, tall cashier dude that's always present, and the older woman that typically closes because these workers bust their humps!
To the contrary I want to say to the owner, general manager, etc
I was in this evening around 6:48 pm. The cashier ( no name tag) wearing white jogging pants and a black top should be taught to not be holding a customer's money and texting... I wanted to scream from how unprofessional it was just standing there staring at her for what seemed like FOREVER to please put her phone down and finish my transaction. As soon as I walk up she's just texting completely ignoring me and my entire interaction was awkward. I look forward in seeing the manager whenever I walk in as she is incredibly helpful and pleasant and I could've right there and then called for her however she was busy putting the price tags on throughout the entire store trusting this young lady and this cashier should be written up. Next time if it happens again I will be certain to say something. If it were my job, I'd be out of a job, period. I did not appreciate spending $43.00 to give her $45.00 and wait forever to get my change that probably was about 3 minutes total just staring at her and she gave no care because obviously it's welcomed. I have seen the manager at this location train and she is stern, hard pressed while being gentle and extremely patient so I know it is not happening in her presence. We all have things going on at home, etc but that's what a break is for!!
As a professional, please do not respond with, " I'm sorry to hear this. Please email me or please understand.... ( Whatever reason is given it is not good enough)"
In my customer service career as a young cashier I had to learn the hard way by receiving a write up, having my phone confiscated by management until the end of my shift or being sent home without pay.
I do understand that this generation is pretty much... RELAXED to a certain degree but it is common sense, " the customer service is the first contact, is responsible for creating that warm and inviting impression to keep customers coming back vs to their competitors, are responsible for adhering to their employment hand book guidelines of what is acceptable and isn't and the customers wanting to come back purchasing inventory is what creates profit and raises"
Please, get it together. Give your Manager and the old lady a raise as they have been the consistent employees in that store since I moved to Wood Dale years ago. Stop hiring anyone and if you do ensure they have common knowledge of what is expected or train them properly so that these young folks understand.”
“Store has plenty of selection. Best grocery store with the freshest food around the area. Owner is a very nice lady. She provides fantastic ethnic groceries and a decent price.”
“Dollar General Villa Park is an awesome store. The staff is always very friendly making it a pleasure to shop there. The employees are always busy restocking shelves therefore it must be a very popular money making store. Great job General Dollar Villa Park!”

630 Wise Rd, Hanover Park“I stopped there the other day to get a phone mount for in the car. The first one I bought did not work right?
So when I went back in the manager was so awesome judy. She even came outside to try and help me with the second one that I bought. I have never had an employee, let alone A. Manager at a dollar general come out and try and assist me with a product that I bought.”
“I loved how it’s close to my house. I hope palatine keeps this store in business. They have good employees and the manager is so nice and awesome. I give this store 10 stars.”
9AM - 9PM
605 W North Ave, Villa Park“It’s the dollar tree, you literally get what you pay for, but that’s what makes the dollar tree great. You don’t expect the best but that what you look for at a dollar tree where literally everything is a dollar.”
“Their employees are friendly and the store is very well stocked, you can find almost everything you are looking for here except belts for men. I don't know about women. It's the only thing to point out.”
“Always a pleasant visit. Deals here, deals there. Not dolla no mo but buck n a quarter. Still worth the one hundred twenty five cents per item. All upcoming holidays items are stocked. Go there now”
“I have to call out and thank Julie!! I was looking for a Christmas decoration and our Dollar Tree was out. I called this location and Julie was so kind. She let me text her a photo and she found what I was looking for. She put it on the side for me and I picked it up the next morning. So helpful and kind and I just wanted to thank you for going above and beyond. A+++++”
“Great prices always…everything $1.00 boggles my mind all that you can purchase here and every holiday!Everyone who works there has always been really nice…been going there for years…moved 25 miles away and still come back to this location to shop!”
“Great little place. Mexican store with tons of little things used for ceremonial pieces and all sorts of stuff you would find on 26th street. We actually were looking for a knock-off of a San Marcos blanket (those super warm Mexican blankets). And found plenty here. Reminds me of growing up and walking the small markets on 26th street. Great people inside who were super friendly.”
“A ton of stuff, overflowing in some sections. Went in to get a paper tape measure, finally finding it with a lot of help from really nice staff. The price is $1.25 for unmarked items, with some marked items going up to $5.”
8AM - 10PM
77 W Rand Rd, Arlington Heights“Good products for a great price, very kind employees, and lots of good products. I highly recommend to go to the dollar tree instead of target or Walmart if your buying common items because at target dish soap is $3 while at the dollar tree it is only $1 for the same size and brand of dish soap. Be sure to visit the dollar tree on your next shopping trip.”
“As the first to review this place I find it very convenient affordable and very hospitality place I hope it gets better and better in the community I find a graceful that I can walk near it and is very close by.”
“I like this store, it is located in a convenient location. There is always a place where you can park your car. Large range of products at low prices. I always buy some kind of toy for my little daughter here. The goods are displayed well and neatly. The store staff is very polite and pleasant to talk to.”

8AM - 10PM
230 W Lake St, Addison“Customer service was awesome, clean store and organize. A customer behind me was a young gentleman had heard me say I have to put three things back which I did he offer his helpful grateful kind hands and paid for the breast thank you Jesus”
“It's nice. There has to be a better way to stock so you aren't crawling around things. They should stock after closing. With new prices... perhaps. Can't even get to a side of aisle.”
“I did not have a bad experience in here. I was expecting it to be terrible based on the reviews. Staff were friendly and greeted people. And I didn’t have to take the receipt myself. They have clothes here and rugs, which is different from other dollar stores.”
“Well, first let me say..that some of the customers are total slobs, ingurant and rude. You people that right bad things about this store have nothing better to do but complain ..don't come there then I'm sure they don't want your business. . May be the store wouldn't have to put notes around the store if people weren't SLOBS and put things back where they belong. The store is a mess because the customers don't want to pick up after themselves, or put things back on the hooks where the found them, instead just place it on the nearest shelf because they are to lazy to put it back and it's to their convince not thinking of the employee's that have to clean up after you. People let their kids trash the store, and the parents do not care the dt is a daycare for their kids. So don't shop there if it isn't up to your standard. Don't blame the store employee's.. blame yourself. Here's a thought.. go in fill out an application and show them how you can make it better instead of you running your mouths.”
“One stock kid who was wearing black shorts and a hat (he had bleached hair) today was saying how America was going down and why celebrate Memorial Day…I stepped in while passing him and said Memorial Day is for the troops that fought for this country. Because of them you have a job if you don’t like it here then get out. He smart Alecy said thanks for the insight.”
