Mayflower/Chipman Relocation was great. I scheduled a virtual inventory appointment and they did the rest. From the quote to delivery, very professional, friendly, and accomodating. I very good experience!

A full rip off! This is a company that barges into your home and gives you a rough estimate while assuring you that the month you chose gives you the even better month for the lowest rate! Only that what comes out after he goes back to his office is an incorrect estimate and then he harangues you over for not paying the full sum with the extra insurance coverage! That is you are his first day volunteer employed by the hour for him to do as he pleases and definitely NOT a paying customer! The company agrees on your date for the move (before you sign) and then changes you at the last minute (typewritten in the smallest font) while holding you responsible for not reading in between the lines. They send you a group of five men who comes in to ransack your entire house down being more concern about stuffing as few items as possible, one each packed into large sized boxes just to hike up the number of boxes you have to pay as well as multiplying the weight of the whole lot! The packers do an exceptional job in breaking down your closet by putting one side of shoe in one separate box! You get the hint. . . . (You get an email from the moving coordinator challenging you ahead of time not to prepack your own items by yourself as the rate is set standard regardless of how many boxes you intend to pack by yourself!) Once they have gotten your items, you can be sure not to hear from them again regardless of how many attempts you try to contact them with the new delivery address. One word of caution never to do is to call into their Main Headquarters in Missouri! Once you do that, you can be sure to receive an instant reply from the local moving coordinator just as a preemptive measure. The second group of movers are even less incline to send your items over confirming that the company was never planning to deliver your items in the first place. You can be certain that your new address was never taken into consideration by the company! Just to let you know, when they do send the items over they will pressure you to go through a long list of inventory on the spot just to free their own men from being watched. Free access into your new home to do as they please! You see most of the furniture are now in the garbage bin not even worth donating to charity while the large furniture came back block ruined with broken sides as well as damaged fronts as if being thrown from a high platform to the grounds while beds were recklessly wrecked so that the corners can no longer matched. Call it an expensive thrill just for them to enjoy a side crack of joke at your own expense!

Mayflower helped my family move from Orange county, CA to Savannah, GA and I would recommend them to anyone else looking to move across the country. After taking a quick tour of our house in California, our coordinator Dale was able to give us a quote right then and there. He was able to tell us how our stuff would get packed and shipped and when we would expect to receive our stuff when we moved to Georgia. The actual movers were great and very professional. There were also no hidden fees or "surprises" in our invoice. I highly recommend Mayflower to anyone looking to move!

We moved from Indianapolis to Boston using Mayflower. The local Mayflower representative who we spoke with to obtain a quote guaranteed that the movers would take great care with our furniture, pack it into the truck, drive cross-country, unload, and re-assemble our furniture. We checked several reviews online, and decided to go with Mayflower. 1 - The movers were 1 hour late to pack up the truck in Indianapolis. No big deal. 2 - They did not use any care. Several items ended up being broken, scratched, dented, and otherwise damaged. They refuse to work with us to compensate for the damages. 3 - When they were unloading our items in Boston, they absolutely refused to re-assemble any of our furniture. I was told by both Mayflower's corporate office, and their local office representatives, and our Mayflower booking agent, that re-assembly is standard. Yet, they refused to re-assemble any of our furniture, and their response was: "Sorry. That's unusual that the movers wouldn't re-assemble anything for you, but we can't make anyone do anything." Basically telling me that we were screwed. For the amount of money they charged, and level of service they claim, it has been absolutely disgusting service. They should be ashamed of themselves. Don't make the same mistake as me - book with a credible, reliable, moving company. Mayflower is horrible.

The move was CA to UT. After interviewing 3 major companies, our obvious choice was Mayflower due to the assurances and coverages offered. Once the sales call was done, we had several questions of the real coordinator, Christine Harper, who was invaluable throughout to delivery. Half of the packing was done by us, the remainder by the Mayflower team the day before loading & transport. Great crews both day. The driver is the person in charge; Sam Woodley was the BEST, cannot say enough good things about his professional demeanor and attention to detail. He inventoried items down to the rake, kept us informed of the process each day. Contacted us the day before delivery (on schedule) and pulled up to our door right on time again. No damage to anything, everything accounted for - Sam made certain. Many thanks!

Chipman Relocation/Mayflower provided a totally professional, on time, problem free relocation for us from San Francisco, CA to Portland, OR. High praise and thanks to them for their excellent service.

We selected Mayflower (they were the middle of 3 cost estimates) to move us from Las Vegas to Olympia WA. It was a big load (we moved from a 2,200-sq-foot house plus a cluttered 3-car garage) that took almost all of the trailer. Most of the stuff arrived fine (although we cringed at how they pack a trailer like a 3-D Tetris game). Our primary complaint: The Vegas crew disassembled a large, glass-topped patio table, and we were instructed to let them assemble it at the destination and to not dare try to handle the big piece of glass. Don't worry, they insisted, we'll re-assemble it. Fast-forward to the destination: A $250 record turntable ended up badly damaged, for which we were reimbursed. A shelf for a wall unit never showed up and we fear it was confused with the next customer's load. Mayflower refused to reimburse us even $10 to go out and buy another shelf. Thirdly, we ended up with the other customer's flat-screen TV. We notified Mayflower immediately because we didn't want to be responsible for it, yet it was weeks before someone from Mayflower fetched it out of our garage. Our biggest complaint: The crew never re-assembled the glass-topped patio table. As they walked out of the house and into the sunset, they announced that they couldn't find the nuts and bolts to reassemble it. They shrugged and said bye. Whoa, really? Obviously we had no idea where the parts were, either. We complained to Mayflower. For several weeks there was no response. Then one day, by sheer luck, we found the missing pieces -- in a Ziplock taped to the bottom of a wheel barrow!! Really? REALLY?!? So we let Mayflower know and asked that a handyman come out to reassemble the table. But they refused. Flat-ass totally refused. At the front end of the move they tell us to not touch the patio table because of the glass, and now they are refusing to deal with it and we're on our own. We listed the unassembled table on our claim (asking for a handyman be hired to come out and assemble it), and were blown off. In other words, you can't count on Mayflower to keep its word. Why they would risk their reputation in order to save hiring a handyman for $100 or so (and the trip was insured no less), totally escapes me. UPDATE: About a week or two after this review was posted, a driver was dispatched by Mayflower to our house, where he quickly, efficiently and cheerfully assembled the glass-topped patio table. Thank you, Chris!

I had used Mayflower/Sandhills NC before for a local move for my father. They did an incredible job -- moved everything without so much as a scratch, so when I needed to move from NC to Florida, of course I called Mayflower/Sandhills. I wish I could say I received the same wonderful service, but I didn't. I had Mayflower/Sandhills pack my items as well as move them. My desk, my dresser, and my chest of drawers all had scratches (deep scratches) that weren't there before. This is frustrating because the dresser and chest are vintage furniture. One of the glass shelves for my curio cabinet wasn't with the rest and we still can't find it -- so there is a big empty spot where the shelf goes. I don't know what happened to it. Some of the curio cabinet contents were in one box. I've never been able to find the rest of it. Eighty percent of my bone china was packed nicely in one box. The other 20% we still haven't found. I'm afraid they were in a box and got delivered someplace else. Things in two boxes were packed very poorly, with fragile things on the bottom and heavy, bulky items on top of the fragile glass items. I had a broken glass, coffee cup, and coaster set with edges chipped off. They were wrapped in layers of packing paper, but heavy things were put on top of them, which made them crack and break. A floor lamp was broken during unloading (the bottom fell out of it and the weight crumbled when it fell to the concrete), and was "stashed" in the garage. No one mentioned that it broke to me, the homeowner and the person who paid for the move -- they just left the pieces in the garage. I found it as they were leaving and asked about it and was told "that often happens to cheap floor lamps." and that I could fix it myself with duct tape and a brick. I did not feel that was the appropriate response. I don't think I want a floor lamp held together with duct tape and a brick in my living room. I was very disappointed with this move. I had very high expectations based on my past experience, and unfortunately, they were not met.

Horrible. I requested a quote for a long distance move for my things in storage. I filled out the volumes of information requested for a quote. They call and want to set up an appointment to see what's in the storage unit. It's a storage unit, and I don't live in the area anymore. Why on earth would you need an appointment to see a 10x10 storage unit? I've used movers in the past, they show up, they do the work necessary, you pay. It's pretty simple.

We were planning our move to Florida and I contacted the three major movers for a quote. Two out of the 3 companies sent an estimator and one wanted to do the inspection via FaceTime. Molloy Bros. / Mayflower sent their estimator Jack. His review of our move was professional and to the point. When our move was delayed a month due to a health issue Molloy had no issues rescheduling our move. Once we were ready Jack came back and re-estimated our move. Molloy also gave us the best deal and a binding estimate. On moving day Dennis and his crew arrived on time and got right to work. The crew took great care of our possessions. Eight days later the contents of our apartment arrived in Florida. The crew in Florida was just as professional as the NY crew. They even placed all the boxes in the appropriate rooms. Upon inspection of our things nothing was broken or amiss. I hope I never have to move again but if I do I'll be sure to contact Molloy Brothers / Mayflower. Highly recommended!

I am sorry I ever used you and Mr. Molloy wanted it to go away! There is zero respect for people's property. Wonder how Mr. Molloy would feel if his property was smashed, broken, etc. THESE WORDS MEAN NOTHING! NO ONE CARES.

WOW I wish I had read these reviews. I trusted Mayflower because my employer recommended them and I trust their judgement. I would NEVER recommend them to others. Also went with the advice of others who said "even though it's more expensive than others, you pay for what you get with movers." WRONG! Myth debunked. At the end of the day, if you want something done right, do it yourself with some trusted friends. Broken 55" TV that they aren't covering, scratches all over the dining room table, damaged couch, poor customer service.

Broke several pieces of our furniture in ways that I would expect a professional mover to not do. For example, they did not remove the legs from a children's table ($400 at pottery Barn) and they snapped at the joint. We placed a request for repair or compensation. It's been 2 weeks of emailing them and calling to even get them to look at the request... which they are supposed to do with in 48 hours. I am so unimpressed by customer service. We have been living with large broken furniture for 2 weeks and unable to fully move in.

Terrible company. If you are reading this and looking for a moving company, I cannot say it enough DO NOT USE THEM!!!! My wife and I hired them to move us from California to Louisiana. We purchased full coverage insurance as part of the package. Mayflower picked out stuff up, took it to a warehouse where it sat for two weeks in the heat. They couldn't find a truck driver to bring it to us! On arrival they ruined close to $15,000 worth of items, including a $4,000 mattress. When I filed a claim they came back to me with a settlement of $600???? And now have proceeded to continue arguing with me. It is not worth the hassle! Please DO NOT use them
