They helped me pick out a treatment to seal and protect my piece, as well as completely disassembling my piece and re-assembling it to help me strengthen the piece. “In the book, Outliers, Malcolm Gladwell speaks about working 10,000 hours in one's craft, in order to be deemed an expert. Some folks are disputing this but think about it, do you want the pilot of your plane on your trans-Pacific flight with 100 hours of flight experience?? Or do you want the person with 10,000 hours?? Speaking of pilots, the pilot light in my gas fireplace kept going out and it kept going out when outside temperatures went below 25F. That's right, it went out when you needed it most. So after firing up the pilot light manually for seemingly over two Winters, I said to myself, this is insanity. So I used Yelp to conduct a comparative analysis and called four fireplace companies. Here were the outcomes of those calls: - one company does not fix gas fireplaces. - the second company made me leave a message and it took the guy like 3 days to call back and he had an attitude like he was disgruntled from the get-go (meaning from the onset). - the third company wanted to charge a service call for diagnosing the problem and couldn't comment on the overall costs. - the fourth company was Hearth & Home and Pat (who turned out to be the owner) was a straight shooter (meaning forthcoming with details). Pat asked the year, make, model, serial number of my gas fireplace. He listened to me about my fireplace's symptoms and gave me a likely diagnosis and projected costs of the part and service. I had a very good feeling about his Integrity and thought the cost was reasonable. The appointment was booked and weeks later, Mike came as scheduled. Mike has 10 years experience and although he huffed and puffed here and there while fixing it, I had no doubt that with his expertise (10,000 hours) we would be up and running in no time. And that's what happened, my fireplace got fixed, within budget and right in time for me to make it to the Yelpies event last week!! Thank you Pat, Mike and H&H for this professional experience. Otherwise I would have missed that great event by Kesha and Celeste!!”
“From the outside, you would not think that Charles Custom Dinettes would have what we were looking for to furnish a brand new modern kitchen/dining room remodel. I WAS SO WRONG!!Originally, we saw our furniture at a high end furniture store not too far from CCD. I was ready to order it when my husband suggested we check out CCD. Talked to Steve and he pointed us to what we were looking for. There were the counter stools and dining room table and chairs we wanted. They were the brand and models we saw at the other store. CCD actually had the finish and top samples in full size versus the swatch colors from the other place. (This was a life saver!! We almost selected from the small swatches something that was way too shiny and a color that would not have matched our decor!!)But wait, there's more!! Not only did we get to see, feel and touch the actual products, but the price Steve quoted us was $4,000 less than the other store. One more thing...this was Nov 11 and Steve said we will have it by Christmas while the chain store said it will take 16 weeks!! Steve delivered both figuratively and literally!!!Anyone looking for quality stools for a bar or counter, you must go to Charles Custom Dinettes! On our first visit to the store, the salesperson, Mark, climbed onto the arm of a sofa wearing hard-sole shoes and actually jumped up and down to demonstrate the structural strength of the product. While this abuse made us cringe, the sofa arm didn’t budge, and the fine leather covering sustained zero damage. More than convincing. Today, despite daily use, all three of our leather pieces look and feel like the day they were delivered. What a pleasure to have found furniture of such beautify and lasting quality.
