I brought my 2009 Buick enclave for a transmission rebuild and paid over $5000. I live a half a mile from the shop and my wife gave me the weirdest look as I pulled into the driveway. Literally my car sounded like a bubble machine and they let me pull out of their parking lot with a car sounding like that? They came and picked up the car, brought it back to the shop and headed back to my house in a couple hours with the problem solved. Fast forward eight months later and I had to bring the vehicle back to Thompson transmission for them to tell me that the reason my transmission is being sluggish is because of an internal computer that they did not change when rebuilding the whole transmission. Their excuse obviously is it wasn’t part of the rebuild. Please tell me why you would rebuild a transmission and not check all components of the transmission? I did bring the transmission in because it was having problems. Why would you just trade out some parts and not check everything when someone is spending that kind of money and if there was something else wrong then why wasn’t it brought to my attention when the transmissions out of the car? To me that sounds like an upsell and you maybe could have made more money and it would’ve kept me from coming back to your shop later just for you to tell me that one component is almost $3000 to repair. Never will I bring my car back to this place nor will I ever refer anybody to that shop. Their business has been open for 10+ years and it amazes me that after 10 years they still can’t get their crap together.

Great shop there honest. They advised me it was cheaper to replace my transmission for my ranger then rebuild it due to the age of it and cost

Thompson just lost a loyal customer. We have taking a few of our vehicles there before. This time was the worst we were quoted 2,600 dollars to rebuild my transmission. Had that saved in cash so I wouldn’t get charged more money from them. Then Thompson a decided that the transmission was actually going to be 2,700. Because of a part he had to fix. No one called and made sure we wanted to still proceed. Then they took it for a test drive it a blew my break line. I ended up having to pay a credit card fee because Thompson quoted us the wrong price. So total was 3,185 plus a 60 dollar credit card fee. Then after they screwed us with out us getting any enjoyment. They used all my gas and left me on empty. The man who also took care of us came off cold and like he didn’t want to be there. Long story short DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. Unless you want to pay more money then what your told.

just found out thompsons has been scamming me. I went through two transmissions with them only to find out that I have a trans fluid leak that they never told me about and just shoved a hose over my leaking line. I lost a lot of money from this. do not go here

This is the worst place I can think of to work on your car. They lied and charged me $1500 more than the quote. It took 10 days longer than they said it would. And at the end of all that they would not give me any warranty whatsoever. I would run not walk away from this guy. Worst service and customer service I have ever experienced. Wish I could give them negative stars.

This is the worst experience I’ve ever had with a mechanic. They misrepresented what they were capable of doing and charged me more that $1,000 more than quoted. Instead of taking a week it took nearly three. Seriously, they have no idea what they are doing. They charged me $3,500 and explained after the work was done that they would not warranty the parts or labor. I wish I could give them Negative stars. Save your time snd money and RUN AWAY from these people.

I had these guys replace a work truck transmission and personal vehicle. The truck went on to live a happy life! My car unfortunately had an issue around 7k miles post rebuild. I called these fellas up and with no questions asked they had me bring it back in. I just picked it back up and they did need to repair a few things. All of this was covered by their in house warranty. Despite having an issue, I'd do business with any company that stands behind their work. Highly recommend!

My mother brought the vehicle here with out checking its reviews bad choice Do not go here I had my transmission replaced here 3 months later it acted up making same noise as before it was still under warranty so i took it back the gentlemen claimed they forgot to do something I also then was charged a towing fee because they couldn't do the work there (how are you an transmission shop but cannot do the job and how do you forget something ? sounds like rushing to me ) well 1 year 3 months later same noise came back my mechanic told me its the transmission so I brought car back to thompsons my warranty was up and they charged me $180 for inspection even though their website states free inspections. Main point how can a transmission go bad that fast. Please look and find another place to go so you don't get ripped off

We had a transmission in one of our work trucks go out, and they had us back on the road in a week or so. That truck was back pulling a 14ft dump trailer the day after we picked it up.

This place is a joke they have pictures of 9 second cars cant even build a solid 4t65e with out it braking. There excuse that my tires are bald and I've been hot roding my tires are in good shape hella tred. They also charged me for the parts they didnt replace the first time the transmission broke so when it broke for the 3rd time they said it wasnt there doing they are scams and cant build a solid 4t65e will see how this one they just fixed works lol also took my warranty away so they probably did mess it up. Will not be recommending or ever going to this place again
