I came here with my partner and I had the jollof rice with chicken and he had the okra soup. If we lived closer we would definitely come back to try more food. While we waited we were able to shop at their market. The market was clean and well organized.

I ate here and was highly disappointed! After tasting meat and finding a bone in my food. I spoke to the owner and let him know that I did not eat meat he said come in on the weekend and that he would make my order with out meat. He was not there, so his wife told me that she would make my order for me with no meat. She told me to give her an hour. I then returned after two hours to pick up my order went to eating, and found meat and a bone in my food. I took my food back after already eating the stew in disbelief, cause I spoke to this lady face to face for a while and explained to her in a deep conversation how I did not eat meat. I then told her that I thought she would make it special. With no care at all she tells me I tried my best to remove all meat and meat substances out of your stew. She then went on saying I thought I told you that I would try my best to remove meat. I told her if you had told me that, I would have said no it's ok I don't want it. She know she never said that. She then went on to say well it must have been a misunderstanding. She had me so angry I had to hold my composure and stay professional. Also the fufu taste like mash potatoes. I had fufu in chicago before and it was delicious and they made my order without meat.

The food is great (although the portions are a bit smaller these days) and the grocery store is quite neat. The owner is a really friendly guy and makes everyone feel at home. Great selection of African groceries, snacks, and other random things. The items are fairly priced considering that they are mostly imported.

I ordered jollof rice is the worst jollof I ever eat, it’s don’t have a taste, I have eat African food in Chicago, calumet city, Schaumburg, even on vacation in Florida. They have good taste. I live in Chicago area for 40yrs and I eat out a lot. I have to throw away the jollof rice .

I’m new in the area and I love African/Nigerian food and I always get the first time I went there I tried the okra soup with the banku the soup was good but toooo Spicy I found a habanera pepper in my soup had my tongue on fireeeeeee and the second time I went I got the egusi stew and pounded yam the first thing I noticed was the portion it was so small and I didn’t have any meat in my stew and the third time I went I know I know yes I went back hoping my experience will be better and unfortunately it wasn’t the portions are so small and they give you more pounded yams more than stew they was nice people but I feel like they don’t make the food fresh each time I would hear the microwave heating up food and it make me wonder if the food is fresh if so why are your using the microwave and I never got hot food from them always Luke warm idk that’s my experience I feel like they would be a great place only if the food came hot and steaming when bought and the portions was a bit more and and take the peppers out of the food it’s to hot

The. place to be to have African food. They are also respectful and will help you to have everything you need. The only problem is that they did not everything I was looking for, however do not hesitate to go and visit them. You may be satisfied

There is also a restaurant and the food is amazing best egusi I’ve ever had! The market is great as well. Employees are patient, kind and very helpful. Food is cooked fresh so I recommend calling to place order before arriving. 10 out of 5 stars for me!

Business is doing well as a restaurant has been added! Here’s their menu. As of RIGHT NOW, their restaurant is OPEN on FRIDAY-SUNDAY. Regular business hours are the same. Food came fast and was excellent. I ordered the Waakye. Very delicious and I will be a regular.

Great meats and sales on truckload days. Good variety of bakery. Prices are moderate. They have an overall large amount frozen foods too.
