went to try and get a membership and I couldn’t get over the fact that the pretty girl in the front desk was freezing bc it was so cold in there and I noticed she only had a little heater to keep her warm how can a place say they care about the customers if they can’t even care for their employees..

Don’t get a membership for anyone here I paid for one visit for a girlfriend and they keep changing me for like 8 months already refusing to take the card off saying I’m not the person on the account but it’s my credit card giving me some excuse for the past 4 months saying they’ll do it and never do.

Do not get a membership here! On multiple occassions, I've been tried to cancel my membership for MONTHS and have called and gone in person at least five times but they refuse to cancel my membership. They always tell me that a manager/regional manager will send me the paperwork but they never do. I follow up constantly but I'm told the "regional manager/manager" is never there and so they always say they'll let the manager know and I'll get the paperwork by the end of the day but I never do. Awful experience.

Stuff there was amazing! They made me totally comfortable. I had lost my gift card but they were able to find it through their records. Highly recommend this one!

I've been a member for years and always had the best service with massage and facial but today my facial was awful ? My face feels dry like nothing was done. She applied very little products in my face and then I just laid there, just waiting and I had to pay extra $25 for hydration? Waste of my time and money!

Surprised by some of these bad reviews - been going there for over a year consistently and never had a bad experience. Front desk is always pleasant and courteous, and Fitz is a magician with his massages. I greatly appreciate how he always makes sure to wash his hands before touching my face/hair (not leaving with an oily head!) and he’s so accommodating for your specific requests. Would highly recommend!

Andy gave me the best 1 hour full body massage. She was so good at her job and my neck and back felt so less tense and stiff. I'll definitely be going back to her

I have been a member and have used this location for over two years now. Unfortunately, this location has a revolving door in terms of management and CS staff. This review does not reflect the service I received from past management as well as my therapist and aesthetician, as they were wonderful, got me to sign up for membership and stay until now. This review reflects the poor CS of the current management, specifically the manager named Shawn. I have back problems and have been going to my massage therapist every two weeks with advance appts. When my therapist couldn’t be there for my appt, they never called me to reschedule, which means one would think they have a back up for me and my massage is still on which isn’t the case. Their protocol when you cancel short notice is they charge you, that’s why I was upset that they never called me to inform me that my therapist won’t be there and they had cancelled my appt. I asked for the manager to call, never did. I had rescheduled my appt to a week later to try a different therapist was still feeling uneasy with the manager’s dismissive actions so I called to speak to him again before my appt. When I spoke to him, he was very curt and dismissive, he then gave me excuses (which I found out was a lie) about why they never called instead of a simple apology. When I called him out on it, he started getting louder and had the audacity to just say “you know what, it seems you just want something for free.” I was shocked and just said are you serious?” Then he followed it with “I have a lot of things to do”. I then said you know what, cancel my appt, he then replied, “I can cancel your appt or your membership.” I was shocked at the disrespect and lack of common decency by this person. Because of him, I would never recommend this location anymore. He treats people awfully, I am still shocked. The one star actually is because of the other wonderful people who works there, otherwise, it would be zero.I keep telling myself that maybe he’s having a bad day but at the end of the day, your character is measured by how you handle situations on any given day, good or bad. Having a bad day, does not give one an excuse to treat people the way he treated me.I do want to add that the GM Katie who is in the crystal lake location handled the situation the way a manager should handle it. However, the damage has been done and I cannot get myself, my friends and family to go to that location again.

My wife took me there for my birthday relaxation give. The place was Clean and customer service was Great! The massage specialist talk to me to find out where my needs needed to be treated. And also gave us options to better treat our muscles.

DO NOT GIVE CREDIT CARD ON FILE. DO NOT TAKE MEMBERSHIP. PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW TO SAVE MONEY AND AVOID FRUSTRATION. When you are taking membership they will sell you as "You can take massage at any Hand and stone locations but when you have a problem they will say it's not our location. This location has been charging me subscription fee even though my membership is with Northbrook , IL location. I reached out to the branch manager and she kept saying there is nothing that She can see in my system. My membership is with other location. We are INDIVIDUALLY owned franchise. When I called Northbrook Location they told me the same story. I sent them screenshots of credit card Statments and still no response. It's not one or two times charge it's 7 TIMES. They charged me twice every month for 3 months. in one Month they charged me thrice. Now this story doesn't end here. I reached out to their so called Regional manager via email NO RESPONSE. I called their CORPORATE office left voicemail NO RESPONSE. I reached out to credit card company filed dispute for last 4 charges and they responded to that BUT never replied to my emails. I am sure this review is not going to get me my money back but I hope someone might get help and save money.

I canceled my membership in the month of february , and i'm still being charged 5 months later. Very pathetic service regarding this. The excuse they have given me was that after i submitted my cancelation, there was a new manager, so everything done previously was lost. I'm totally frustrated. Visited the spa today, as always, no manager so no one could help me!Without the manager, they cannot remove my card on file. This is pathetic.!

If you pride yourself for providing customer a great quality of service make sure to inform them about the pricing especially for non-member. Asked the desk for the price but never mention anything about non-membership price, was completely appalled when checking out. Felt deceived, deeply disappointed by this establishment and there's no excuse for not informing and for that reasons will never recommend to anyone and never coming back.
