I am a first time dog owner, they had been my Dog’s Dr since she was born , she’s currently about to be 9 years old, they had answered and help me with any questions I had over the years , they had been on top it , I recently had a little scared with my dog where I had to take her to urgent Vet so to them been close , and even they did a bunch of test of my dog they were unable to find the reason was my dog wasn’t feeling well , the next day I call Arlington park Veterinary Hospital her actually Vet , they told me to bring her in , I did and within hrs her Dr was able to come to a conclusion, put her in the right medication and within hrs my baby was back to jump and run around the house , i cnt be more grateful with them , they had been on top when it comes to Dog health I will highly recommend them

We have taken our dog to this vet for years, even did training in their basement with w/ a third party company - the point is - a steady customer... dog came down with an ear infection over the holiday weekend and is whimpering in pain... hey, can we get in today, any time, to get some help. sorry, no, we're booked for two weeks. we can't possibly squeeze in a dog suffering in pain to help you, we are just too busy. hey, here's an idea: "yes, get the dog here, we will figure out a way to work it in between other appointments, because, after all, we care that your dog isn't in pain. heck, we'll even stay 15 minutes late to help, because we care." nope... we're too busy. you lost this customer. nice job. now you'll be less busy.
Update - no response to my original post, but when my wife tried to buy over the counter heartworm meds using the standing prescription that we have been using for years, their response was that after my review (wife wasn't even aware I posted it) we should go somewhere else. Apparently, they are so busy that they don't need the recurring revenue of a point of purchase sale, nor apparently, do they care to even try to address the original criticism. Laughable. Just as well, I'd prefer to send my money elsewhere anyhow.

I highly recommend Arlington Park Veterinary Hospital! The vets, vet techs and office staff are all friendly, kind and knowledgeable. I have complete peace of mind about the health of my senior dog Jazzee, as I always had with previous dogs. I have referred friends to APVH and they have had the same very positive experience! I was nervous about seeing a new vet this time, but Dr. Bufton was great! I will definitely recommend her and ask for again.

Easy to get in and ask questions/education on what is best for our pet. Dr. B is amazing! She easily connected with our puppy and we could see he was at ease with her.

Very friendly staff, very caring and engaging Dr's. Reasonable fees for services. My dog seemed to be relaxed and comfortable with the clinic overall.

Dr. Mottonen is the best! My neighbor recommended I bring my very sick dog to see her after 4 other vets were unable to figure out what was wrong with him and she found the problem immediately.
She was also the kindest and most patient vet of them all. We are customers for life.

I wasn't surprised to see the negative reviews from this veterinary office. We adopted 2 dogs about 10 years ago and were looking for a convenient inexpensive place to take our new family members. Although I always found their office staff to be rude and unusual, we only really went for our annual appointment so it didn't really matter. Once they got a little older we had to start going more frequently especially for our puggle who had terrible teeth and arthritis. We had her teeth cleaned, but probably not frequently enough, they put her on meds for her arthritis. When she got a bad cough we tried to get her in and got the run around about them being too busy so we went back to our old veterinarian who took care of our chocolate lab.
We brought in the medications and she immediately said get her off that stuff it's causing other complications and she was in kidney failure. We started using other medications, supplements, giving her subcutaneous fluids, aqua therapy, and she was coming along. She then started having persistent sinus infections most probably from her teeth. After several rounds of antibiotics and upset tummy we were praying the liquid antibiotics would help.
Yesterday we woke up to find that she couldn't move her back legs. Couldn't stand and was very lethargic, probably a blood clot/stroke. Our vet was out of the country so we called Arlington Park Veterinary Hospital and told them the story. They said she was past due for her rabies vaccination by a couple of weeks. And that we could bring her in for her rabies shot and then wait a week and they'd put her down. Or we could drive by drop her off and they'd put her down, but we couldn't be with her. What a couple of unbelievable options. We explained that she was dying and the vet said why bother with another vaccine. I asked what the rationale was and was told to protect their staff. Excuse me, but you'd put her down without the shot, but we couldn't be there? Which is it? Long story long, we found a very compassionate vet who took us in right away to end her suffering. I honestly don't know why I bothered calling and arguing and getting mad, because they really couldn't care less. No compassion, I wouldn't take a toad from the backyard to this place.

Getting into them for an emergency during normal business hours is impossible. I called on a Thursday, my dog was limping bad, they couldn't get him in until the next Monday. I took the appointment but told Dani (front desk clerk) that if he got worse I take him to a pet ER and if he got better I'd cancel. My pup did get better on Sunday, I called first thing Monday morning to cancel, all good seemed good. Then I got a call back 2 minutes later from Dani who advised me because I cancelled less than 24 hours before the appointment they had to charge me for the cancellation. I told her the day before was a Sunday and they weren't open and she never told me when I made the appointment that I had to call more than 24 hours before, when I clearly told her there was a chance I would be cancelling. I have been a loyal customer for 17+ years, and never cancelled an appointment. I told her if they were charging me I'd take my dogs elsewhere she said she'd make a note in my file. I was shocked. She never once said I'm sorry, let me see if I can get it waived, we'd hate to lose you, nothing. She only said it's protocol and I'll mark your file that you'll be having your records transferred. I told her that they losing a loyal client and also not getting the money for the cancellation. My loyalty with them was with Dr Ciura, she was amazing with my prior senior dog when he was sick but I can no longer support a vets office who would rather lose a client than try and work with them.
