I usually don’t leave reviews but as a female, I want to thank Mike’s Automotive again. I felt so comfortable and they took the time to explain to me the work they were doing and why. My Chevy Sonic has never ran better! Thank you again!!

I went to 3 other automotive shops and no one would work on my hummer h3 engine noise . I Went to Mike's as a last resort and not only did they figure it out the problem ( mechanics are wicked smart) but they went above and beyond to search the country for the parts I needed and got me on the road ASAP.
Mikes Automotive just got lifetime customers!!! THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH

BEWARE! DO NOT TRUST MIKE’S AUTO. THEY USE SILICONE FOR REPAIRS. READ THEIR RESPONSES TO REVIEWS THEY ARE VERY DEFENSIVE AND DO NOT CARE TO LISTEN TO THE CONCERNS. I asked for a quote to replace my daughter’s Chrysler 300’s engine. They quoted $5,700. I was very clear and explained that I would think about it and let them know since it was an old vehicle. They then called and told me they had the engine and I had to pay for it. The owner Matt pressured me and offered to give a discount. Ultimately, it was lowered to $5,500. ($200 was not going to break the bank) I did not want to ruin the work relationship and caved in. Matt assured me it would have a lifespan of 2-3 years.
3 months later my daughter is driving on the highway and noticed smoke. She pulled over without causing an accident as fast as she could. I did not trust to take it back. My father, a buddy and a mechanic took a quick peek at it and immediately noticed the hose right next to the one they replaced was not replaced. They all agreed a good mechanic would have replaced it even if it warranted a simple call to inform of an up charge. Then we noticed the silicone, cracked engine, old spark plugs, broken coil, oil in the old filter, etc. Demonstrating they did shoddy work when replacing the engine.
I called and Matt was extremely defensive. He also accused me of totaling this car. (I had a Jeep I totaled and asked for the receipt for insurance purposes. They sent me the email for the Jeep.) This attests to their poor listening skills. He continued to talk over me, distorting what I was explaining and ultimately hung up on me.
Finally, I showed up to try to reach an agreement. MATT STATED “I DON’T CARE, I AM DONE WITH THIS CAR” and walked away.
SAVE YOURSELF FROM PEOPLE WHO DO NOT ACTIVELY LISTEN TO YOUR CONCERNS. THIS IS TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

This has to be one of the most difficult things to do but it must be heard. I took my Chrysler 300 to get it repaired hoping and trusting that I’m taking it to a place where they could treat me fairly and have all honesty towards the car and situation. My engine had broken down and I took it to Mike’s auto cause I’ve heard plenty of great things when they fixed it they told me the engine was good I had to pay a good amount of money for it and they said it will last me for sure another 3 years I felt very comfortable and happy but not even a couple months later the engine breaks down and so I had it checked out by another shop and they told me they gave me a engine that has already shut down before and that they didn’t even replace the whole thing they used old parts that weren’t good and instead of gasket they used silicon? Mind you my car broke down in the middle of the highway I was with my little sister something really bad could have happened. So I decided to get evidence and show up to mikes auto and confront them about the situation and instead of apologizing and owning up to their mistakes they were extremely disrespectful and unprofessional they kept saying “I don’t care I’m done with this car” I’m very upset at the the work they have done to my car but not only that the service so if you need major car fixing don’t trust them cause they’ll just rip you off and not care . This doesn’t even deserve 1 star.

I have been taking my cars here for 31 years. I would not trust anyone else with my cars. Because of that, I have sent many friends and family there as well.

I drove 4 hours from St Louis to purchase a used car. But first, I took it to Mike's for a pre-purchase inspection and I'm extremely grateful I did!
After a short wait, Mike informed me of over a dozen mechanical issues, including oil and power steering fluid leakages and bent suspension components. He was blunt and said he personally wouldn't bother with a car in this condition unless it was basically free.
The rate he charged was super reasonable, and even though I didn't end up walking away with the car, it's still one of the best investments I've ever made! He saved me over $12k!!!
If you are thinking about purchasing a car in the Rockford area, I highly highly recommend getting it inspected by Mike beforehand. Mike will not sugarcoat any issues that the car has, and he just might save you hours of headache and thousands of dollars.

I had a problem with a 16 year old Mercedes Benz. I mistakenly diagnosed as a bad battery. I replaced the battery and had the same problem. I figured it had an electrical draw somewhere but couldn't find it. Called several shops and found that most shops don't want to do electrical work on old Benzs. Was walking by this shop that looked professionally run and talked to Jason. After explaining the situation he told me that they have a guy that hasn't been beaten by an electrical problem yet. Still undefeated. These guys are good.

Matt and the crew are unbelievably good at what they do! The attention to detail and the care they take of your vehicles is top notch! Would recommend to anyone! You want a place that cares about their customers and your vehicles, then this is the place for you!

I am very disappointed in the service at this establishment and will not be recommending their services to anyone else. They worked on my daughter’s truck and when she got it back it was still not fixed. When I spoke with jason in the phone he was very rude and actually hung the phone up on me. I can not believe how rude he was in was very unprofessional and disappointing. My daughter truck is still not fixed and she is devastated so I am trying to warn anyone else before something like this happens to someone else. I use to think highly of the place but not any longer

I stopped into Mike's on my way to work because my check engine light came on. I had a busy day, so I was unable to wait. The owner Matt made a point to come and do a visual diagnostic before I left the shop, which left an impression on me. I took my car back a few days later and they were able to replace my turbo very quickly. Not only is this one of the cleanest shops I have ever been in, but the quality of service was unparallel! I highly highly recommend Mike's Auto Service.

We are long-time customers of Mike’s Auto and we are just as pleased with the work and service from the new owners as we have always been. They have taken very good care of both of our vehicles, are prompt in calling us with quotes, honest with what needs to be done, and don’t perform any unnecessary work. They are professional and also are free to offer advice. And, all is done in a courteous way. It is also a pleasant experience to sit and relax in their very clean waiting room complete with a tv and free snacks. Overall thumbs up!
