If I could give Greenstate below 1 star I would...The employees are inept...to say the least.

Very racist at this credit union. If your skin is brown don’t waste your time. I bank with Navy Federal. They are Co-op with Navy Federal. They don’t speak, they don’t smile. Wouldn’t even take my money. Reminds me of the 1930’s like they never seen black people before. Very uncomfortable environment. I will never be back. Green State you need to do better

Worked with Greenstate to finance my first home and everyone I worked with was absolutely amazing, friendly and helpful throughout the whole process. Stacy Jones is the best! She answers any questions you have and is very responsive. I was never left in the dark about anything. I also worked with Amy F. and Leslie P. who were both extremely helpful. Couldn’t have done it without everyone’s help.

GreenState uses an online bill pay service that is inferior.I bank with two community banks, and 3 international banks - 1,2 and 15. If I make a multiple check deposit, I cannot see the deposit slip and the checks deposited online or download the activity for reporting. Initially, GS said I had to contact them (during banking hrs) to get file copies. The next person I communicated with through "chat" said that I was limited to 5 deposits in chat. After that, I would have to call (and sit on hold forever). After that, I was informed that I had to pay $2 per check. Since some of my tenants can only pay by check, that means I have to pay GS between $100 - $150 a month for an inferior service in this tech era. Also, their Zelle service does not allow scheduled payments as all of the other banks do.The positive, is that they have some great people in their customer service.

We worked with Stacy for our mortgage loan. Having her as our loan officer and Green State Credit Union as a local lender helped out tremendously. Stacy got things done fast. Highly recommend especially in this market! Also closing costs are so much less with a credit union instead of a bank.

Greenstate is terrible for mortgage, so happy i switched lenders. Eric Norman put us at low priority and was unresponsive to emails. Never received the actual pre approval letter and for some reason they did underwriting before we even put an offer on a house. If he didn’t want us as customers he should have assigned us to a person local to Rockford who had the time to communicate with us.

WORST experience of my life.Do NOT do business with this company, they are a bunch of SHADY loan sharks. They will double your payments and when you don't comply they will reposess your property.I made ALL my promised payments and they STILL took my vehicle because I refused to give them 1,500/month on my promised loan of 740/month.What a joke.

Stacy and Amy were very thorough and on point throughout our entire home purchase transaction. It was a pleasure doing business with them.

Margie Nowak was the person who I was trying to get a mortgage through! Margie is unprofessional as well as racist. Margie delayed me overtime and waisted my Realtor’s time and I almost lost my home because, she kept delaying me. Had the Seller upset as well as the listing agent! If you are an African American this is definitely a place you need to a avoid!

They did my mortgage on my current home. They did a great job. My realtor recommended them and said if they give you an approval your offer will be excepted. I was not the highest offer. I was putting 20% down and I did beat out several other offers on the strength of the approval by this bank. That says a lot about the bank. The person I dealt with that was overseeing the underwriting process was very professional and knowledgeable. Overall I feel the bank did a good job. I've been a real estate appraiser for over 30 years so when I say the bank is a good outfit I mean it.

Buying a home is a very stressful thing to do. Jason Naill is definitely the best person we have every used! I had so many questions and he was there for us every step of the way. Could not ask for a better experience! Highly recommended as Jason and Midwest Community Bank will not let you down!!The Appelgren family

Used to a big fan of this bank. They had exceptional locally minded bankers. Creative thinkers. Also a responsible lending institution. Got my mortgage here in 2004 -- the pre 2008 craze period. Their approach was more cautious, more thorough, more solid. They did not bundle and sell their loans/mortgages. Everything stayed local. Even so, they were willing to work with me in a unique situation. Greatly appreciated. More recently not as pleased. Less personal, more dismissive. Perhaps it is because my original banker has moved on and out-of-state. Truly personal banker who knew his clients and their idiosyncrasies. No one else has come close to taking his place. Unfortunately. You get the feeling people aren't trying, don't really care. Had a businessman friend from Germany visiting who wanted to open an account there. There was basically no way to do it. At least they couldn't figure one out. We could not understand. (He was flabbergasted. And angry. At home he's a VIP.) Just disappointing of late.

Stacy Jones and Stacy Como are absolutely amazing we just closed on our first home .I recommend them highly they are very strong and tough and will get things done because of them getting things done the underwriter didn't need much because they were on top of it!!
