Since 1996, have taken clothing to this dry cleaner and more recently, utilized seamstress service. Couple of pants altered without complaint --cost or quality. Staff are always very friendly and helpful. As with everything, it's not perfect. In those couple of instances, it was inconvenient but the issues were resolved to satisfaction @no additional cost. Today, my children are customers.

I went in for alterations and as we were discussing pricing, I was asked to wait for her to help someone who walked in. Even the person looked puzzled by the request, but they proceeded to step up to be serviced after I was directed to step to the side. If I could’ve left immediately I would have but the person had my item. After the customer left, I watched while the person took their time and sorted their cleaning, bagged it and stored it away. There was never an apology or even recognition of the amount of time I waited. Needless to say, I opted to spend my money some place where I’m treated like any other paying customer.Services: Clothing alterations & repairs

There's a serious issue at this location. My review is related to mistreatment and overpriced services. This is a review involves service from the alteration person. I called in to inquire about timing to have a dress taken in at the waist and was asked if I could drive over, so I did. After having the person pin the sides and confirm it could be done in short order, she proceeded to input my information in the system. After doing so, she told me it would be $100, to which I responded, no thank you. At this point, another person entered. The alterations person, removes my dress from the counter and shooed me and said "step to the side" so she could help the person who had just entered before removing the safety pins that she placed in my waistline of my dress. After waiting a little more than 7 minutes for her to assist this person (couldn't find them in the system quickly), sort the clothing, bag them and put them in bins, she stated she'd remove the pins once more and give me my dress. She then asked if I was "sure" I didn't want to proceed before she takes the pins out as if she didn't just cast me to the side to service someone who had just stepped in the door. I nodded and she said again "are you sure because..." as if the price could be negotiated. I stopped her and pointed out I was insulted that she thought she could recover a potential sale after treating me the way she did. And as it turned out, another place less than a mile away did the same work for $30 (versus her $100 quote)!

I had a pair of pants altered by a wonderful seamstress. She did such a great job that the pants took on a whole new look. She is also very accommodating which I really appreciate. I highly recommend her.Service: Alterations

The dry cleaning is fine! The low score is for alterations. My husband has taken his shirts there to have buttons replaced. They use buttons that aren’t even close in color to the original, and they often fall off soon after. I went there to have the back of a dress hemmed (a simple single piece of fabric) that was long though. I was alarmed as the woman there did not measure it, only placed one pin, and then put two more in after my insisting. She kept saying she would cut the front the same, which was not what I was asking for. She kept pointing out minor flaws in the dress (which was brand new), so that “I wouldn’t get mad at her when I picked it up.” This alarmed me too as though people have complained in the past. She then said it would be $100 because the fabric was long! For shortening half of a sheet dress! I promptly took it to a Salamanca seamstress in Berwyn, and without asking she took out a measuring tape, put in about 40 pins, said it would $25, and that the alterations would be ready in 3 days. Don’t get alterations here!

I went here to have to have my dress hemmed and to have the neckline altered, and cufflinks tightened. I was surprised when after the consultation I was told it would cost me $120. I'm new to the area and have never paid this much for alterations but since we had already finished the consultation I paid the price. When I picked up my dress a different associate was working the register and didn't know I had prepaid. She quoted me $80 for the dress instead of $120. I let it go and informed her I had already paid. Then I got home and tried the dress on and saw that my neckline was stitched uneven and laid bumpy. I ended up having to pull all the stitching the seamstress had added to the neckline out. I'm disappointed that I was overcharged for work that wasn't even done correctly. I can't wear this dress to my event now because there's no time to get the neckline fixed. I won't be coming here again.Service: Alterations
