Sweet handmade chocolates and a lovely candy display may be found in this adorable chocolate business. In addition to being friendly and always offering a free sample, the box and wrapping were prepared for gift-giving. Excellent location to pick up a hostess or thank-you present. I was in heaven when I tasted the dark chocolate with raspberry filling.

Went to purchase birthday gift for my husband
Woman working did not know what chocolates were made in the store (gave two different answers), did not know what company made other candy (in case), touched chocolates with her bare hands? I said don’t you use gloves? She said I just washed my hands but I can put one on.
I am going to go back when owner is there and ask for a refund. So, so disappointing (and gross)

This is by far the best Chocolate around. You can go there and get one piece of candy or 100 lol but I’m sure you’re gonna walk out with more than one. They also have very unique chocolate candies. There they cater to whatever your need is regarding schools special emblems on the chocolates, etc. and in the summertime they make their own hand dipped ice cream bars, which are absolutely amazing vanilla I believe Oreo not sure of the other one, but absolutely love the place I just took my nieces there for the first time they loved it just like I knew they would gotta come see Riverforest chocolates !
Parking: Located on Lake street right in front of the store.
Kid-friendliness: It’s a Chocolate store.. what could be more kid friendly need i say more ?

Just found this gem a couple days ago and went in to pick up my online order. Donna is the best. This place made me feel like I was in Willy Wonkas Chocolate factory, the feeling, the smell, the atmosphere was just amazing. The only thing better is the flavor. Will for sure be shopping here for my go-to treats.

Wish I had a better experience a couple weeks ago. I went in on my way home after work. I'm Asian. I went in and the lady greeted me and walked away. Then as I'm in there for a few minutes I ask about the truffles in their case, she answers and walks away; she didn't ask if I was interested or if I had any other questions. I walk around in the store a little more. Then another lady walks in and she is white, asks for a recommendations for a box of chocolates for a family party. The employee was more attentive to the other white lady and customizes a box of chocolates and truffles. I ask a couple more questions and she answers them and walks away again; she doesn't ask if I was interested in other things or anything. Goes back to the other customer, and helps them more then me. I forgot I walk in with a North Face winter coat and the other lady comes in raggedy Ugg like boots and workout clothing. As that happens I feel that the atmosphere is a little off. Does anyone think this? The employee helps the white customer more then an Asian customer. She also gave a very uncomfortable stare too!

Absolutely fantastic gem in River Forest, the chocolates are spectacular and truly luxurious. A highlight of Christmas is finding a box from River Forest Chocolates in my stocking. Packaging is great for gifting and high end. Wonderful service as well

Awesome. I bought a variety of truffles, but a shout out to the chocolate salted caramel truffle! The caramel was creamy and delicious, like real caramel should be! It reminded me of this phenomenal caramel shop in New York... I was sad that I don't remember what store that was... It was really small... But now I don't need to! Homemade salted caramel in river forest! Wow. If like me all you've ever had is store bought caramel in the plastic wrapper... Go and try real caramel. My God it's good. This store is well stocked with treats of all varieties. You won't be disappointed in the flavors or the selection! This is truly a gem tucked away on a quiet boulevard in river forest. Needless to say, it is now my go to confectionery. I'm so glad I found it.
