I appreciated having a coupon for completion of a multiple point checkup and fluid changes. It was completed in a very timely manner. The next day I was concerned because the engine light came on. After reviewing the explanation in the auto manual I called Shield’s and spoke with Scott.
He reassured me - explaining that it probably meant there was moisture in the gas line and I should call back if the light was flashing or remained on through the weekend. It disappeared after a couple of days. (It then occurred to me that after my check up had been completed, I had gone through a car wash. That might have been the source of the problem.)

It took a very long time to get the part but once it was in I was called with with an appointment date.

I dropped my truck off in the afternoon for service for the next day. I received a call 2 hours later, your vehicle is completed. They had time and they finished it early. I was pleasantly surprised

This appointment was for a regular oil change, tire rotation etc. The service was quick and efficient. Within 1 mile of leaving, the tire pressure light came on. I came back to Shields and was told a sensor was out. The sensors were all fine when I came for the appointment. I was quoted a price of $150 to replace the sensor. Since the sensor was fine when I came to the appointment, I don't feel that I am responsible for paying the $150. I do have an appointment to replace the sensor and to check out the engine clicking sound.

Poor customer service from management. Drove hours to deal with them on a very specific vehicle I had been looking for. They were woefully unfamiliar with out of state procedures. Charged incorrectly, took weeks to get reimbursed. Veh required service for a known issue, gm Rick refused to cover the cost and wanted me to drive all the way back for them to do it in house. Lesson learned.

Mr. Shields was very condescending, and they basically expect you to pay the sticker price...which no one is going to do. Lost a sale over a couple of thousand and his abrasive manner. Oh, well.

I could not have asked for a smoother more professional transaction. Ask for Tim McIntyre. Just One of the kindest guys ever, extremely professional, and even took me to Dunkin on a test drive. My daughter got ripped off by these clowns. Below is her post For anyone around Rantoul thinking of going to Shields in Rantoul, DON'T. We bought a Tahoe from there middle of June, called the end of June to tell the of issues and never could get through to the service center. A few days later I called and got though and the guy I spoke to came off as extremely arrogant and told me we were out of luck because we were past our two week warranty (when we could could get through we were within the two week). The guys told me he doesn't know what's wrong with it and it needs to be brought in. I wasn't driving 3 hours to bring it in and it not be under warranty. After taking it to the chevy dealership twice here to finally figure out the issue it needs a whole new transmission. I 100 percent belive they knew of the issue prior to selling it. Several people said how bad that place was and now we know first hand.

Thank you for getting my truck back on the road again after breaking down. We were driving down I-57 and the truck needed repairs after breaking down on the highway. Dale (service manager) and the master mechanic went above and beyond to help us get back up and running. You have a great attitude, beautiful new dealership and quality mechanic. Thank you again.
