Well lets talk about Thomas trucking a little. First let me say hands down Jake is the best Trainer he will treat you right and go out of his way to help you. But with the company there was a little lack of understanding. I didn't have a problem doing anything except moving steel coils. I don't care what anyone tells u there not safe but they didn't want to hear that so time to me on.

I joined thompson otr crew fresh after my cdl. Been helpful through my learning curve and have aiding me with my schedule. Solid company to drive for.

Driving for Thompson was a wonderful experience. Very good people to work with. I chose them due to all the horror stories I heard in CDL school about drivers being taken advantage of. That does not happen at Thompson. Ask for Jake to be your trainer (two weeks). That guy is super down to earth, will give you the shirt off his back, while graciously showing you the ropes. Your dispatcher Chris is a rockstar and very aware of the circumstances you will face from load to load. Become her friend and do everything you can to make her life easier as she will go to bat for you, daily. Your safety guy Rick is always going above and beyond for his drivers and makes it known that you are not to hesitate with questions, ever. Ross, the lead mechanic keeping your truck in order, stellar. Embrace them all. This is the work environment you’re looking for. Good luck!

Thompson is a well-managed family owned flatbed trucking company. I was there for a short time after I got my CDL. Personal circumstances at that time caused me to leave before I was finished training. If you are looking at flatbed, look no further than Thompson, Inc.
