“I was there picking up donations for the food pantry today with Jim, one of the employees @ Northwest Compass. The staff there were very friendly and helpful showing us what was to be donated. A big thanks to Aldi's for their contributions during this time of recession.”

“Okay, I get the hype. Jerry's has the best assortment of produce I've seen in the area, and the best prices on them by far. It's like walking through an indoor farmers market. Once you get beyond the array of fruits and veggies they are a big Asian market, European market, and big Mexican market all squished into a tiny space. It's crowded, it's noisy, it's chaotic. Service is hit or miss. Sometimes the staff is in your way more than the other shoppers, and the other shoppers will definitely be in your way. You'll also be in their way. So I give Jerry's five stars for prices and assortment and deduct a star for the staff, the tiny aisles, and the chaos. Others may enjoy the excitement, but I prefer a more sedate shopping experience. Next time I'll try it on a weekday morning, that may improve my rating.”

“Great selection of international foods. They have a Bakery, delicatessen, sushi and fresh meats. A huge selection of fruits and vegetables. Plenty of parking with handicaped as well. The only down side is the lack of general staples . But other then that they are great.”

“I had not been to an Aldi store in many years. During this visit I saw upgraded shopper experience.nnive selection of produce cheese and wine. The was helpful and I got my quarter back when I returned my shopping cart”

“Not a regular Aldi shopper, went with a friend. So if some observations are "standard Aldi" you'll know that. Newer store, very bright and clean. Wide aisles very nice for navigating the wide carts. I realized that they basically don't carry typical American brands, it's private label or something like that. My friend needed mostly produce, and the selection & quality were good. There was no stock out for a deep-discount item she came for. The seasonal aisle was unkempt but had an interesting variety. Stealth hit: Winking Owl wine...quaffable and dirt cheap. I was happy to learn that they accept credit cards (you still need a physical quarter if you want a cart!). But there were no pack-your-own boxes when we checked out, happily my friend had a lot. Overall pricing was sharp, and tho selection was limited, I didn't feel like I was shopping in a heavy-discount place.”

“Always busy, and have everything I need, once in awhile they do run out of products, but everyday I think a truck comes in the morning, so morning shopping is more reliable, to have your products, but it has only happened a hand full of times.A little slow at the cash register, lines can be long, at other Aldi's they have self serve, thos is so convenient. I hope they change this place to have both.”

“This store is now our preferred Aldi location. The Palatine Aldi location is too crowded. Nobody wears a mask and there's only one cashier and a ton of self check lanes all being run by that one cashier. The palatine location is severely understaffed. Spoiled vegetables were left on the shelf. At this location it's a day and night difference. This Aldi has staff members floating around the shelves monitoring products and assisting people. The other one did not. People also seem to wear masks at higher frequency in this location. There are no self checkout lanes which is a slight let down as having one or two machines would be nice. The store is for the most part clean and the lighting inside is bright enough to see all products. There are no dim spots and the ceiling is fully finished instead of being unfinished warehouse beam. There was only cashier but she was ringing customers extremely fast showing that she really knew her stuff and knew how to run a register in turbo mode. She also maintained a personable demeanor despite running everything at super high speed. Very happy with this Aldi compared to the other Aldi!”

“Love this location took me one hour to get here on bus from Skokie but was completely worth it. Only went for the food court on the second floor! I orders myself spicy pork, that was delicious got it with great side of fish cakes and kimchi. I did not know what the third side was but it was ok. The place is big and the staff was great! Also will not hurt your wallet like some Chicago location that charger like 20 dollars plus for spicy pork.”

“Tulsi Grocers is a great place to get the ingredients for my Biryani dish. The store is small, yet it is well organized, making it the ideal spot for convenient and efficient ingredient hunting.”

“Aldi has really changed. It's been a while since I stepped into an Aldi store. I decided to shop at the Schiller Park location. It feels like a high end store. A lot of fresh fruit, vegetables and meat. Great selection. I'll definitely be back.”

“For many years, Valli was our go-to-market for food. The variety of products carried is outstanding. They have an enormous selection of fresh fruits and vegetables. Since they get people of multiple ethnicities, they have a very good selection of cultural foods. And, up until a few years ago, their prices were much lower than other stores. When they raised their prices several years ago, we virtually stopped going to Valli on all but a few occasions. This time, we needed a variety of Latin/Mexican foods, so this was our first choice.First, their fresh salsas, guacamole, pico de gallo, and other freshly made items are second to none. They still have the widest variety and quality of fresh fruits and vegetables of other markets I go to. Their milk and dairy products and frozen foods are priced more than most other markets. They still have a great selection of cold cuts, which are a much better value than other deli counters. They have a good selection of fresh meat (and some seafood), including taco meat and fajitas to buy and cook at home. I have never tried their bakery, but everything looks delicious. And they among the the largest selection of fresh-frozen fish in our area.If you need it, they have it. Still, with some of their pricing matching or even higher than the supermarket chains, we limit our trips to Valli when we need something we know we can get at a specialty market or only there. And many of the Mexican and Asian grocers may carry a much smaller selection but have better prices. Still, there is something about Valli - maybe having everything in one place, the friendly and helpful employees, or something else. Valli still holds a place in my heart.”

“Just had a really positive experience at this Aldi. It was midday on a Saturday, so of course the place was packed. I figured it would take forever to get out of there. Lines were backing up and the register I was at wasn't ringing up any produce so we had to pay for that separately while people behind us grumbled. However, Braydon, an Aldi associate quickly jumped in and bounced from line to line with a smile and an apology and rang us up one after another. All the while, he was also answering questions and helping people get through the many self checkout lanes. Not once did he look stressed. He was polite, professional and made everything go smoothly. Will definitely be coming back here!”

“Optimal.I'm used to going to Aldi even in Europe.I found it here and it is always convenient for the prices and quality. You won't find all the products you need but you will find average quality at prices accessible to everyone. In this area I believe it is the best between price/quality”

“I like going shopping at Aldie. There’s always a wonderful selection of food and fruits are always fresh. However, this particular Aldie was a little bit messy in a complete disarray and some of their shelves. I realize I was most probably done by other customers.”

“One of the better selections of produce, international foods, baked goods, and deli products. If you cab think of it, I'm sure they have it. Also, it is a good place to grab a hot and ready meal”

“I went last year and loved it ! Brought my daughter and niece back and loved it once again . Only complaint I have is I bought two pumpkin decorating kits and then moved into the following room with all the little treats that are in containers & when I got to the register the cashier told me I didn’t pay for the decorating kits which I did. I told her to ring them up again because honestly I just wanted to leave on how uncomfortable she made me feel . She literally made me feel like I was stealing. Communication needs to be better with all cashiers on what they can and cannot ring up . Idk why they put the kits right next to the food area that makes anybody confused including their WORKERS ?”
