Should be 4.5 stars other then we were charged for peoples Dinners/drinks who we did not even know. We paid cashed, and had our receipt for proof yet card had an extra $90.00 at same time frame. Too loud to communicate was the culprit. Would not even talk to us about issue and we had been here about 40 times over 5 years. Yes we love the Broken oar and will be back.

Fun place, great atmosphere. The food used to better. But if you are looking for fun, music and volleyball on the Fox River, then this is the perfect place.

Great spot and server. Been here many times. Foods usually good. Wings were overdone and very dry but sauce was good. Ruben inedible. More fat, like uncooked bacon, than meat. Wasn't asking or wanting a credit, and none offered other than making a new one. Fine.

What a horrible experience. Went there for their Shamrock Day festivities. Because I invited a group of 25 people I told them that I would have a balloon so they could find us in this hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of people crowd that they were expecting. So I speak with the manager I guess an older lady who was quite pissy and she said no balloons. I asked why. She said because people can't see. I said how about if I have the balloons up until the event starts and she said no. What the heck. Then some of my people that were coming we're going to buy tickets there. One of them was told that there are no more tickets available and he said the rest of his group is in there waiting for him so this woman told him well I guess I can get you a ticket but just so you know I'm doing you a big favor. Oh my gosh. Give me a freaking break. Does this woman believe that she's just the be all and end all of all goodness in the world? I would not leave a review this biting. But this woman is just absolutely horrible. So beyond that we came early not only to be able to set up for our spot but to eat. We sent back 80% of what we ordered. The chicken strips were hard and compact and I am very sure that they are just frozen chicken tenders. I've seen him before. The salad was horrible. Salad dressing was warm. My friend said that chicken was not even a quality that she would feed an animal. I tasted it it was kind of weird. The cheese curds were decent. Not the best but decent it was one of the few things we ate. The Mexican corn was not only overpriced. $14 for what would have been a half an ear of corn. But it was also pretty yucky. It was thick and weird in a bad way. After we sent the food back we still needed to eat so I asked our very kind server if there was anything that he could recommend that was fresh and the only thing that he could come up with was the cheese and tomato sandwich. Didn't order that because we were so freaked out. Some of us actually left and sought out food elsewhere.

Nice venue on a nice day since it's next to the river. You can pull up in your boat or anchor in the river. Food is ok, nothing special. Their special buffets on holidays are terrible. Don't waste your money. Bathroom situation is sketchy when they have bands playing there in the summer. Parking is not fun either on the weekends over the summer. Staff complains about management, working hours, and pay. They just added on a barn and new stage outside the bar itself. They have a special parking area for Classic cars and parking area for motorcycles as it is a favored biker bar. Lots of cool bikers. All in all, it's a bar and people just go there to drink and party and have a good time. Check it out if your in the area and decide for yourself!

3/13/24..I came out yesterday on my bike to check out the new pavilion, it is very nice. I went upstairs to the bar to get a cocktail. The bartender asked me if I want to order something to eat....I ordered the Bang bang Cauliflower. When it finally came I was very upset that the plate had like 7 small nuggets on it for $15. Are u freaking kidding me! A head of cauliflower might cost at most $4. In my calculations you are making $100 on one head of the vegetable!!!! I have been a customer of your establishment for 25 years. Gouging your loyal customers on a Tuesday evening is absolutely ridiculous!!! I will not recommend ordering food at the Broken Oar!!
