  Cool place and nice selection of everything but the $30 popcorn tin we bought has 2 out of the 3 flavors that are inedible. Butter popcorn is so salty it can’t be eaten and I love salt. The kettle is just burnt it’s not kettle at all.

  Not a single changing station in the men’s bathroom or even a family stall. Place has 100 gas pumps and can’t get a changing table for dads? Ridiculous

  While this is a generally nice, brand new Wally's, it's extremely frustrating that there are no changing tables in the men's restroom.

  Best bathrooms on I-55 period. Clean and stocked always. And I’ve been driving this road for 30+ years back and forth to visit family.
  
  Also the coke icee machine works 99% of the time and there’s fun gifts, camping supplies, and snacks, healthier options too. Do not miss.

  12/17/25 5pm. First time visiting. Store is clean. Guy in the bakery was very pleasant. I accidentally dropped a BBQ sauce and the guy making sandwiches looked at me like he could have killed me in the spot! It was a accident my guy! The girl at the register was extremely slow and kept pulling up her sleeves to show these cuts all over her arm as if shes a cutter. Another customer asked her what happened and she said o nothing. Not sure if management has seen this but if its a issue may e she needs someone to talk to. Dont ignore the obvious! Probably wont visit another Wallys as I felt it was a very strange place with the over the hills strangest people. Buccees is ok but the people are on point!

  Review written 12/12/2025. Watch the prices that ring up at the register or get an itemized receipt because almost every transaction here they ring up more than the price posted.
  
  For example a stuffed animal here rang up $11 but was tagged at $10 on the sticker
  
  And the bottles of Mello Yello are listed as 2 for $2.22 but they ring up as 2 for $3.00
  
  Also for marketing them as the cleanest bathrooms, there are more things to consider than cleanliness. Almost every toilet here that I’ve used has weak flushing pressure and can barely even flush a few pieces of toilet paper.
  
  Also the popcorn is hit or miss. I visited here several times lately on the way to and from Chicago, and one of the “fresh” popcorns I got was tasteless and stale and not of the usual quality.
  
  Also the Mello Yello on the fountain spout is almost all just syrup, and not much carbonation.
  
  Also there’s not many options in the grab and go fresh food area that don’t have meat in them. This really limits options for vegetarians. I wanted to get grapes and cheese yesterday but none was available (out of stock), they had plenty of sausage and cheese etc though but that limits options for vegetarians.
  
  Also the checkout process point of sale has on the screen to enter Loyalty ID but yet the cashiers tell me there’s not a loyalty program. So which is it??
  
  Hopefully management reads this review and makes updates accordingly
  
  However overall this is a cool location and very clean

  Such a great alternative to the southern Bucees. There is a huge assortment, including a bakery, Jerry, sandwiches and so many beverages and novelty items.

  Not great customer care. Slow lines. Got brisket sandwich that was purely fat for $8.20. Their bbq sauce tastes good though

  Stopped at Wally's on our way to Chicago. Plenty of shopping from clothing items, gifts, souvenirs, food, popcorn and so much more! Pretty good prices. Very friendly employees and very clean restrooms! This is named after the movie, National Lampoon's Vacation. A fun place to just browse around the store. Would definitely stop here again!

  I stopped at Wally’s yesterday while heading home from the Thanksgiving holiday, and the experience was extremely disappointing. When I first walked in, I bought a few items and paid for them about 20 minutes earlier with the first cashier I checked out with. I never walked out of the store between purchases — I stayed inside the whole time. I later returned to the counter because I wanted to buy more items.
  
  While I was checking out again, security falsely accused me of shoplifting, even though I had already paid for my first items — something they may have overheard me clearly telling the cashier. They only stopped accusing me after the cashier confirmed that I had already paid.
  
  Even after being proven wrong, the security guard showed no apology and no sympathy, and simply told me to “have a good day.”
  
  Being treated like a suspect for no reason is embarrassing and completely unacceptable. I hope management reviews how their security staff handles customers, because no one should have to experience this

  I always stop by here whenever I’m traveling to Southern Illinois. This isn’t your typical gas station or convenience store—they have hot food, cookies, coffee, and other miscellaneous items. The store is almost like a mini-target. The bathrooms are very clean and there are a lot of stalls so it’s not just one or two.

  Kids were so excited to stop by Wally’s / the Great American Road Trip place.
  
  There was no place to eat the food we bought at Wally. And the food was crazy expensive. A fish sandwich was $9 and the brisket burger was $7.50.
  
  Do NOT recommend.
