Only come here if you’re okay with “you’re paying 170$ just to walk in the door” and hearing the inflation babbleI WISH I READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE CHOOSING THIS PLACE!!Respectfully, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!! Nothing but money oriented it seems. Doctor spent less than 5 minuets in the exam room after waiting over an hour and a half. Didn’t examine my dog and instead told me he would give me a quote for diagnostic. After I declined the 900+$ diagnostic quote i never saw the doctor again. 170$ visit fee is crazy for the lack of care we received. My dog is extremely anxious and even with a muzzle, the doctor didn’t attempt to examine. My dogs eyes were extremely inflamed and blue and clearly discomforting my dog and the doctor didn’t prescribe an anti-inflammatory because they wanted to do blood work first. Wanting to do bloodwork first is understandable because they don’t know my dogs history. But If I can’t afford the 300$ sedation medication for a full exam then let’s find other solutions? But no they sent me away to my regular vet. I left with nothing but a headache from the disappointment and lack of ease during the whole visit. I expressed my concerns to the receptionist and she shows a sense of compassion and that was appreciated.PS.Do not remove my review, I will be continuing to post this.

We brought our high anxiety German Shepard for sedated blood work and x-rays. No one else wanted to take her. My 1st call, they said bring her in, we will figure it out. They did! Dr. Taylor and his crew were so kind and helpful and good with my dog. The women who answer the phones and are at the front desk are awesome! Thank you for taking care of our Izzy and us. Thank you for treating her, answering our many questions and phone calls and always being helpful and kind and not rushing us.

Waited 7 hours to be seen and gave up. Take your pets anywhere else. And for the response to this - another vet’s triage found basic warning signs that your triage missed, and they actually saved his life. The time you’re taking to patronize this Google reviewer about how a 24hr hospital works, everyone reading this should see that as more time being added to other patient’s visits, and showcase where this facility’s care lays (with their business and not the patients, not a good look!)No I will not call in to discuss this, as I see that’s your blanket reply to most other 1 Star reviews. I suggest you get rid of whoevers writing these replies and replace with another overnight staff. Or in general- just get off the computer and evaluate your processes.Thank you Animal Care Center of Plainfield, for forcing me to find a better vet! Couldn’t have done it without you.

We’ve been clients almost 12 years. Always treated with compassion, respect and love. Our most recent experience has been very heartbreaking but this entire team has gone above and beyond. Our pug was diagnosed with a severe case of pancreatitis. She ended up being hospitalized for a couple days. She’s been fortunate to have some of the very best doctors behind her care: Dr Erjavec diagnosing her as well as a follow up, Dr Arkush running tests and making treatment plans as well as following up on how my pug is doing, and Dr Michael being my pug’s hospital doctor. Each of these three doctors not only communicate fabulous with me, they do with each other so it’s one treatment plan combined. These three doctors are responsible that my pug girl is home. Dr Michael has been our primary for almost 12 years and has saved lives for me but all the doctors here are amazing. Front desk staff does an amazing job helping answer questions and showing compassion when I’ve shed tears. The techs are wonderful and even updated me while my pug was hospitalized. I also drive almost an hour one way to bring my pugs her and if you notice in the photos, look how happy my one pug is going here. That says it all.

If I could give them a 0 I would. They turned down my dog when her ear was bleeding. We were less than 10 minutes late for the appointment and the lady behind the counter smuggly said sorry we cannot take you. They offered us as a walk in and continued to say it was going to be more expensive. And we would have had to wait hours for a room when we just wanted a refill on our RX. I DO NOT recommend this place at all. They have horrible customer service the front desk people all have attitudes and are disrespectful. I called to talk to a manager or a doctor and they had all the excuses in the world to not transfer me. The amount of anger I have is beyond what I could have ever imagine. On top of that, our dog has a lot of anxiety and to get our dog out of the house was a lot and to be turned down? They sound absolutely stupid for turning us down. I will be calling everyday to ask for a manager. They said I was being disrespectful and loud over the phone. I told her she would know if I was yelling. So I whispered “is this better for you?” And she did not like that and said “I’m going to hang up in your now”. Horrible. Customer. Service. You have lost my service which I spent a LOT of money with you guys.

I cannot recommend this practice enough. We had an emergency visit with our pittie in nov 2022 and unfortunately had to euthanize our baby. with such a hard decision to make, the staff was incredibly compassionate and allowed us all the time and space to grieve our loss. i genuinely cannot thank the staff enough for the love they provided my animal in his last moments.as much as it was a decision we were not ready to make, your practice made the process as smooth as possible while always keeping us informed through each step, allowing the guilt of choosing euthanasia to be way less of a weight to carry knowing we made the most compassionate, informed choice for our pet.I decided to transfer all of my other pets to the practice after our experience in November. In doing so, this practice uncovered health concerns in my other dog that were otherwise put off by my former vet when we went in for visits. Theresa was one of the friendliest faces when we came in for our most recent appointment! She came over (as did other staff) to greet my dog and give him some love.Again, i cannot recommend this practice enough. if you want compassion, informed visits and all around amazing staff, this is your spot!

I am normally not one to leave reviews but after the two TOTALLY different experiences I had here, I felt like others should know what they are getting themselves into before they come here.I brought my cat Milo into this vet on Wed. 1/24/2024 for a UTI. I got there at 6:30 and was told it was going to be a 3 hr. wait. I agreed to this wait because I knew my cat needed to be seen and treated asap. The staff that night was very nice and sympathetic which is why I probably did not mind waiting over 6 hours to be seen. Once I was seen the staff was very nice and told me they needed to keep Milo over night to get a urine sample. So I paid my $700 bill, left, and picked Milo up the next morning. After I picked Milo up he was a totally different cat. Which I did kind of expect the first day since he was put under anesthesia the following night. So I let him rest all day Thursday and waited to see how he was on Friday.Friday is when I became very worried about Milo. He wasn't talkative anymore, he did not get up to eat, and he did not go to the bathroom at all. I called the vet and told them what was going on. They said I needed to bring him in right away because it sounded like Milo had a blockage. Sure enough I bring him in and he does in fact have a blockage. The nurse then writes me up a estimate for the surgery which was $3,800-$5,200!!! And proceeds to tell me that they need the $3800 deposit right now before they can proceed. There was no sympathy what so ever towards me and my situation. Just more of a concern of do I have the money or not. I loved my cat to death but I am only 25 years old, I was by MYSELF, and did not have $4000 just laying around for this kind of surgery. So I told the nurse I could not afford this at all. She then offers me different loan options and asks if I have any other family members or friends that could help out with the cost. I tell her no, and she said she will inform the doctor. When she comes back she tells me my only other option is to euthanize Milo.I agreed to the euthanatizing because I couldn't stand to see my little guy in pain any more. So the nurse goes back and gets Milo and hands me a button and told me to press the button once I was ready for the doctor to come in and proceed. With out me EVER pressing the button the doctor just walks in and says "So are we ready to do this?" I looked at him completely lost and said "I didn't press my button" he apologized and left the room. That was my breaking point with this place because not only did they have no sympathy towards what I was going through, I now felt like a complete burden to them and like they wanted me out of there asap. With that being said please please PLEASE take your animals any where else but here if you can! This places only cares about money and not the well being of their animals.

Update: My little baby Sadie was so lucky to have Animal Medical Center in the last few months of her life. I am grateful that Dr. Marlatt and staff working on 1/24/2024 brought my Sadie back to life after her heart momentarily stopped. We then put our Sadie to sleep to go to Rainbow Bridge so that she would no longer suffer from her heart disease. Dr. Marlatt and the staff (I am sorry I do not remember the names though I wish I did) showed so much compassion, empathy, and sympathy throughout every step of the way during the entire very very difficult process. I wish I could hug you all. My Sadie was able to say goodbye to us with dignity because of your help and her strength combined. Thank you. I know we are in good hands once Sadie sends her new brother/sister to us… ❤️ My whole family works in (human) healthcare, including me. I know how difficult it can be… Please know you have a very grateful client with a very grateful little baby Sadie. (If you see my review below you will see that Animal Medical Center actually had given us TWO chances at prolonging Sadie’s higher quality of life… They are all angels.)I'm blessed and grateful that the 24-hour ACC (now AMC) has moved closer to my home in case of an emergency... I was a wreck when Sadie, my 12 year old papillon with heart murmur, began to present signs of heart failure. I was extremely nervous to bring in my dog as I had no idea what to expect in terms of the diagnosis/prognosis and price. However, the entire staff was friendly and professional. Emphasis on professional. I felt relieved just walking in. The facility has a beautiful and calming aura (yes, I do think it makes a bit of a difference). Truly a graceful team that I met today -- the front desk, the nurse, the veterinarian. I was a nervous wreck with a hazy mind when checking in, but the front desk receptionist was very patient with me; the nurse was sweet and gentle when taking Sadie's history/chief complaints; and Dr. John Michael was calm, thorough, and adept when explaining her diagnosis/prognosis.Perhaps one of the biggest concerns when taking a pet to the vet is the cost. However, I felt relieved having read the reviews that they are transparent with costs prior to service. This was proven to be true during my visit today.Thank you thank you for not only remedying Sadie but also her owner's anxiety... I am grateful for your services!

I wanted to express to anybody who goes to this Animal Care Center please BEWARE!I was trying to get my dog medicine for her seizures and the manager Britney declined the medicine, my dog ended up dying the next day, please do not take your dog here. They also prescribed a medication that was incorrect on how to administer it on the label on the medicine and the pharmacist at Jewel warned me on this and I called the manager again on this at Animal Care Center and she called me a liar and said the label was incorrect from the jewel pharmacy. I expressed that pharmacists can not change direction on medication from a doctor…The worst uncompassionate people I have ever came across!PLEASE USE CAUTION IF CHOOSING THIS CARE FOR YOUR LOVED ONE!*original post was deleted*

If you want to keep your pet alive; stay away from here. All they want is to run tests and more test, rack up the bill, then tell you your pet is doing fine, and two weeks later your pet dies on your armsAfter doing investigation on my own, my pet had starting showing signs of kidney problems and a severe respiratory infection, but they said there was nothing out of the ordinaryAnd guess what, we got a second opinion after the passing of my pup from 2 other vet on the blood work and x-rays this guys did, and both clearly saw that it was cancer

I enrolled my dog as a patient here when I moved to the area 6 years ago and the care was great- no complaints. The last few years (when I needed more than just maintenance care) things went significantly downhill. I was given the wrong medication- it was for somebody else's pet! Thankfully I noticed before I even left the parking lot. I had gone in multiple times suspecting something was wrong and was told it was just a UTI multiple times. I finally went in for this gut feeling again and they did an ultrasound and told me "It is either cancer or a UTI." They told me it was a UTI. 2 months later we got a cancer diagnosis from a different vet, where they shared it was not a new development and that it had been brewing for months.... We continued to use this place as our primary (to do basic bloodwork, urine tests, meds etc.) because they were cheaper than the specialty oncology vet (but all direction was coming from specialty vet.) Plainfield regularly took almost an entire week to get results for a urine test, provided me with incorrect results (as confirmed by specialty vet- they were appalled), and had VERY POOR communication with specialty vet (couldn't follow directions/return phone calls/emails timely/ etc.). Overall just very poor care, management, and communication. Mistakes are happening that are absolutely unacceptable (they could have killed my dog multiple times had I not caught the mistakes when I did..) It's nearly impossible to get an appt for something and not have it scheduled at minimum a month out. It's pretty much just ER walk ins. Be prepared to wait when you're there too- usually hours of wait times. For maintenance care they were fine, but when I actually needed special attention/went there for a reason everything fell apart. I will say the staff is very kind and welcoming! I was easily recognized by going in so often and they were willing to help me in the ways they could. The new facility looks very nice inside and out. We did get a card from them when our angel crossed the rainbow bridge. It just seems like there are so many moving parts and they aren't working well together when you need more than routine maintenance. Seriously- shout out to your front desk staff. They are the only reason I gave a 2 instead of a 1 star review.

Don't go. They try to get you in and out just like a McDonald's. My cat didn't get proper care so I had to take to aurora instead.

Title: Frustrating Christmas Eve Experience at Veterinary Clinic I recently visited this veterinary clinic on Christmas Eve with my dog and had a rather frustrating experience. Despite calling ahead to schedule an appointment and being told to arrive at 7:30 AM, it took an hour before anyone attended to my pet's needs. Upon my arrival, I promptly checked in and was placed in a room by 7:50 AM, where I witnessed other pet owners and their animals being promptly attended to. However, despite the apparent availability of staff, my dog continued to suffer in pain without receiving any attention. I observed two cases where dogs with different issues were seen and promptly taken care of, but my concerns were seemingly overlooked. When I finally alerted the receptionists about my hour-long wait, it took an additional 10 minutes before a doctor attended to my pet. To make matters worse, I was informed of an additional fee for holiday visits, which felt unjust considering the delay and lack of attention. When I inquired about the possibility of skipping unnecessary procedures to reduce costs, I was told that this was not an option. The excuse given for the oversight was that they had only one doctor on duty, but it was perplexing since no other clients seemed to be present, and their parking lot was virtually empty. In summary, while the veterinary clinic eventually addressed my concerns, the prolonged wait, lack of flexibility in pricing, and seemingly empty facility raised questions about the fairness and efficiency of their services, especially during the holiday season.
