“We were staying at a 4-star hotel for a week in TN, not only was it expensive, the cleaning crews told us they were too tired to clean all of the hotel daily as they were supposed to, so our room never got serviced until we called. The staff were distant and not readily accessible nor friendly. The indoor pool was cold, the hot tub too hot, and they did not want to adjust it. The breakfast was alright, but apparently they served dinner M-W, but we did not know that until we happened upon dinner on Wednesday. Not my favorite type of experience from what I thought would be a quality hotel.
Traveling home, we stayed at America’s Best Value Inn & Suites Pinckneyville, IL. Completely different experience. Staff were accessible, from Kimmy to Mit. The hotel was safe, the pool was heated, there were pool toys provided, a game room, breakfast, and best of all the place was clean and cleaned often.
Well worth the extra miles off the main road. My family and I highly recommend this hotel.
Rooms: Clean, what can I say more. The cleaning folks are meticulous. It might be an older hotel, which they are renovating, but it is a clean hotel. I was waking the hall with the Manager, Kimmy, and we saw some dirt near the elevator. Before I even had the chance to make it back to the hotel from getting my bags, the area was cleaned up. Beyond that, again, the place was clean. Bedding was clean. Shower was clean. Toilet was clean. Sink was clean. Carpets were clean. Overall, 5 star for cleanliness.
Safety: Standard triple lock system at door. No issues with theft.
Food & drinks: Normal Continental Breakfast, also comes with waffles. :) Wide selection of breads for toast. Fun cereals like Cookie Krisp to good cereals like Special K with Blueberries.
A unique feature is 24/7 juice bar where the apple juice tastes like apple juice and the orange juice tastes like orange juice. That is rare at any hotel.
Noteworthy details: Comfortably heated pool. Game room with darts, pool, and music. Kind staff and patrons.”
