Highly recommend. They have baby chicks most times we go! Selection of garden/farm equipment of things you can't find elsewhere.

It had been a while since I was in the Lasalle/Peru area and I knew that I needed to visit Rural King. I was excited to see the young chicks and ducklings. As I wondered around the store, I found the house brand wood pellets in different styles of wood, it was great to see 100 percent wood pellets. I look forward to my next visit!

Live in the Country? Have farm animals? Have a pet dog or cat? Need to do minor home maintenance like painting? Looking for durable outdoor clothing? If you answered Yes to any of these, you need to check this place out. There are aisles of pet food and accessories. One of the coolest thing I saw was an electric heated Pet Bed for your faithful four legged companion. Definitely something to consider for the cold winter months. They have a paint section with all kinds of paint. They have a tool section that sells top quality name brand tools like Milwaukee, Crescent, and Dewalt. In fact I purchased a nice 56 piece SAE and Metric set for my cousin (a farmer that can always use tools). They have durable and lasting outdoor clothing for work or play in their Carhart brand line that they sell. Of course everyone stops and looks at the baby chicks that are for sale. I'm no chicken expert, but I was thinking the Rhode Island Reds were awfully cute. Ha! The employees I interacted with were friendly and courteous. I think this store lives up to its name - "Rural King", check them out.

Most employees don't know what the heck is going on and aren't very friendly. Don't take your small child there, either because not a single cart in the store has buckles!!! Bought a pair of rural king brand work pants for my husband that lasted four hours before they tore from crotch to knee. Worth the extra drive to go to Farm and Fleet in Ottawa!

I've never had a fantastic experience at this store, but today is the day I call it quits. My sister was a manager here, and got to see first hand how things are run. I mainly come here to purchase animal feed and products. Today I accidentally grabbed layer feed instead of chick starter and grower. I live half an hour from this store, and realized my mistake when I got home. After driving back into town the same day, I was told they don't take returns on feed. The reason? They don't want any contaminated feed returned as it could have come in contact with diseases. Are you kidding me? There's always mouse droppings and urine all over in the feed section. You host low cost vet clinics. You allow pets into your store. A reputable seller would have let me return, or even exchange the feed. Cashier didn't even know how to ring up salt blocks without scanning them. Salt and mineral blocks are always dirty and broken. Cheap brands on all horse tack and supplements. Staff is not friendly, nor are they helpful. I'd rather drive farther and pay a little more at Brothers or Farm and Fleet in Ottawa. At least I know I won't be getting a side of rudeness and mouse pee with my feed.

Tried to buy a handgun for them . Once I walked out I got a call from there manager saying I'm in there do not sell list on there store because he doesn't feel safe selling me a gun . Unbelievable. If u like to be treated like ish go to rural king

What an awesome store they have tons of stuff of all kinds - farm, home, hunting and fishing to name a few. I love this store it is one of my new favorites! Today the kids and I just went there to look around.
