While we were in the area we found a historic home that we could tour on the weekend. This was a great experience with the guides and their knowledge of the history.

The John C Flanagan House was built in 1837 and is the oldest standing house in the city of Peoria. There is a circa 1800's cannon in the front yard and a metal plaque describing the history of the home. The house sits on Peoria's east bluff and is surrounded by many other fine homes
