After a fairly detailed process involving bids from six companies and their different products, I selected Fritch to install my new air conditioner and furnace. They got my attention early on with a top notch sales consultant and an aggressive price point. The consultant was easy to work with as I made tweaks to the proposal and asked many questions. It wasn't perfect - there were a few issues with the installation as well as a possible product defect, but they took ownership of everything until final resolution, which has made me a content customer.

I’ve been a customer since Fritch was first recommended to me.I’ve always experienced wonderful and friendly service from everyone at this company. In 2007 when I needed a new furnace Mike Fritch came to my home to help me with the decision. My utility bill has remained on the lower end since I had the new furnace installed.I know everyone at this company to be professional and honest.I continue to keep up my yearly contact for my furnace and air conditioner. It has saved me a lot of money in the long run.Services: HVAC system maintenance

We love Fritch and have been loyal customers for decades. We have had the annual service package for just as long. The technicians are always polite, on time, and courteous. Relationships with a company aren't commonplace in today's world, but it's our relationships with the people Fritch has on their team who make us stay with them. Sergio is our favorite - even our cats love him and greet him at the door! We trust him and always enjoy his happy, kind-hearted personality. Even when he delivered the news about our old AC being on it's last leg, we could tell he felt bad. Fritch sent him out quickly when it stopped cooling. He helped it limp along until a new unit was available during all the Covid shortages. When the new unit came in, they were quick to get it to us and the guys were all great. They also came quickly when our furnace was blowing cold air and got us going quickly. Same with the time it wouldn't fire up. We've needed them on the hottest and coldest days over the years and they've always been here for us. We can't say enough good things about them.Services: HVAC system repair

I've been a Fritch customer for 20+ years. They have treated me with respect and friendliness. I had tried another company years and years ago,, and got the creepy, mansplain vibes. Asked them to leave and Fritch was right out to check things over. Sure on occasion I've had to call the office and ask them to come back out; but that has been few and far between.

We called to get clarification on an issue we were experiencing with our furnace. We use Fritch for our yearly maintenance on our old furnace. Every year (last one was November 2022) they marked the assessment as “pass” and we were never informed of any potential issues or hazards to be on the look out for. Instead, we were told how great of shape our very old furnace was in considering the age. So of course, as customers we assume our furnace is functioning safely and properly. Prior to our yearly inspection this year, we turned on the heat for the first time this year and immediately noticed a gas smell and called Ameren. They discovered we had a gas and carbon monoxide leak at unsafe levels. We decided to call Fritch and also called to get a few other opinions from other HVAC companies. We were informed our “Maintenance Techs” (Fritch) should’ve informed us of rusting and serious erosion long ago because in the heating exchanger it was so badly rusted, black and corroded. Although it was discovered by all techs, including Fritch this year we were told it should’ve been caught in the years prior because it was that bad. We were told by the others that this didn’t happen over night or in the course of months, this was an ongoing issue. Which they all believe is what led us to having a gas leak and carbon monoxide. We called to get clarification from Angie the owner. Her response is as follows..”this could have happened within 11 months”, “I back my techs”, you guys were “smart” for contacting someone in regards to the gas smell”. “And we should’ve known with an older furnace this was going to happen” Well, when we’re being told by your techs that our furnace “passed” and is “safe” and a great furnace for its age why would we expect other companies and individual HVAC professionals to question why this wasn’t caught earlier in our previous yearly assessments? I might add the other HVAC companies were not informed of “who” performed our yearly maintenance until later on and we were fully aware of any potential scare/sale tactics they may use to sell us a new furnace. However, one of the techs even took pictures and showed my husband how bad the heating exchanger was. We even had an HVAC professional in the family look at the area in question and they were also concerned as to why this wasn’t “caught” during our yearly assessment last year or even sooner. I felt like Angie was more concerned about “backing her company” then our safety. In regards to our safety, she did make a comment and said “I’m glad you guys are safe and you did the right thing by calling to have the gas smell checked”. We’re not idiots. I truly felt as though it was “fluff” and sarcasm and I even said that to her. She hung up on me. The conversation was very frustrating and did go around and around with no solution or even a potential “make-it-right recommendation”. It doesn’t sound to me or other professionals that Fritch did the right thing in our previous year’s assessments. And we even asked if they “open” the box during their assessments where the heating exchanger is and Fritch told us they don’t. It’s not fair that people that we trust and give our money to get a way with this type of service and think they can say things like “glad you’re safe” “our techs only get an hour” but not an ounce of accountability. The other HVAC companies found the issue within 10-15 minutes… It’s extremely frustrating. Please strongly consider another HVAC company before reaching out to Fritch. Do your due diligence. I’m sure Angie will have a snarky unprofessional reply which will further prove my point on our experience. In response to the owners comment below, she is not being truthful. WE are the ones who reported it to Ameren first. There was no need for her to tell us it was our responsibility because our responsibility was already taken care of by contacting Ameren and having detectors. Yet again more excuses. Their commitment to safety was not upheld.Service: HVAC system maintenance

***This post is in conjunction with my wife's post made earlier *** please see for reference....I will not get into the weeds here about the lack of confidence and professionalism of this company. I will get into the FACTS....upon learning from other qualified technicians that our furnace had a cracked/ old and rusted heating exchanger and was pushing out serious levels of gas and carbon monoxide. It was advised to call Fritch to get a full understanding of what a yearly inspection involves. I called and spoke to a dispatch representative of Fritch who stated that he had prior technician experience, and that when he performed checks on various HVAC systems, he would only check the temperature of each heating exchanger. I asked would he at any point checked for carbon monoxide to which he stated if his temp check read normal....no he would not check carbon monoxide levels. Then I had him read off our performance checks history with Fritch, to which he stated the the heating exchanger was checked off as operating normal.I say that to say this...each of the other tech( various companies)we had at our house yesterday immediately opened the heating exchange box with no prompt and or knowledge of what the issue was. This was done purposely as we KNOW how competition works among businesses. After opening the box they could physically see that the exchanger was corroded, rusted. Each tech stated that if Fritch would have physically opened the heating exchange box when they did their seasonal checks, we could have informed about the condition of the heating exchange box and at that point could have made the decision to buy a new furnace. We've been customers of Fritch for two years, our neighbors, family members have all recommended this company so it was troubling to hear how snarky, sarcastic and down right rude Angie was while trying to explain our experience with this ordeal. She attempted to talk over my wife and I. And very sarcastically down played the conversation about how dangerous this all could have been for our family.Again...the facts are we were customers, we're depending on their knowledge each time they serviced a key component of our home and when it was known that someone from their company dropped the ball...we get attitude, sarcastic and condescending comments from the owner....Angie. I asked her in the heated exchange of words...how can we make this right to which her comment was..."well I think there's a level trust here". No accountability or willingness to make it right. We don't normally leave reviews, but this situation could have turned "bad to worse" for our family. Angie and people like her are the reason the trust issues are present when dealing with business transactions that run our world. We have decided to let the Universe have it's way with Angie. I am doing my due diligence and informing anyone thinking about using this company. Now go ahead Ang.....post the most sarcastic, non conducive and productive remark you can....you're definitely good at that...complete smoke screen and you offer no resolution to the facts....I'll do my part to get the word out about you and this company and Believe me when know alot of people.Service: HVAC system maintenance

Fritch was recommended to us. We called to diagnose and fix why the HVAC motor/blower was cranking almost 24/7 and the thermostat was not functioning properly in our new house. Long story short, after 3 hours, 1 lb of R-22, a taped up hole, copious note taking and $531.00 the HVAC is still cranking, the thermostat still doesn't work properly, and I am pissed! We had to shut it down at the breaker to turn it off. I had also asked for an estimate to have the system replaced, but was told no one can do that at this time. Thanks for taking my $$$ and not fixing the problem. I'll be going somewhere else.

Was at my home from 9:15-12:15. I was charged for four hours instead of three. I have contacted them about the overcharge and nothing was done. The technician was there exactly three hrs. Not a minute longer and that even include him going back to the shop for different tools. I live in Peoria and Fritch is in Peoria. They could have scheduled me first. I had to pay for him driving from first customer in Chillicothe. They also said some people pay for him driving from Bloomington because he lives there. This was as a good business for years. I had an uncle and a cousin work there until they retired. The technician also complained about the fact that my furnace part was under warranty. He tried to sell me a new furnace first. I told him I couldn’t afford that. He actually moaned and groaned so loud that I could hear him and he was in the basement. Afterwords he tried to tell me that I’m going to need a new air conditioner. I was treated terribly. I have tried to get a refund for the hour they overcharged me. They keep making excuses and talking in circles. Math is simple. He was here three hours and I paid for four. Taking advantage of senior citizens.

Price gouge at the parts counter is just appalling. Needed a standard capacitor for AC unit and figured shop local instead of online (major mistake). Even skipped going to ace hardware since Fritch is family owned and lives close. Parts counter never mentioned price until she rang it up, total was $52 and change for an $18 capacitor. Offered to sell me the hard start kit for $189 plus tax, a $29 part elsewhere locally. I understand a business needs to make money but honestly be more upfront with cost if you’re going to gouge like that. This is why people don’t shop local after experiences like this.

We had Fritch come out when we turned on our central air conditioning unit this year and didn’t have cool air blowing. We thought it was refrigerant that was needed, but it turned out to only need the coils cleaned! Our unit is very old and we hadn’t had it serviced since we moved in 5 years ago, so you can imagine my relief when the technician tested the unit after cleaning the coils and it was cold! Fast forward a week after using the unit after the coils were cleaned and my unit had a very disturbing crackling noise and smoke was billowing from the unit. I called Fritch back and explained what happened and honestly I thought the unit was shot because of the age; however, Fritch came out, did NOT charge the service fee for returning, even though the issue was not their fault, but a failed capacitor. I paid for the part and labor to install. Fritch is a company I would highly recommend. They are professional and reliable and will not try to sell you things you don’t need! Their technicians are knowledgeable and friendly. While Furnace and AC are not cheap to fix, Fritch will not overcharge for the work they perform. If I could give them 10 stars here, I would. For all your heating and cooling needs, call Fritch!Services: HVAC system repair
