Asked for deferment to help pay down a credit card to pay it off quicker, was told I couldn't do this. I have had an excellent payment history with them payed early even. They even asked me what the deferment was for which I feel is none of their business as long as I'm making my payment in a timely manner. I have never had a problem with any banks and now I am and it's with this cefcu I regret getting a loan here (3) yrs now. I will be glad when I make the final payment because I will not be returning if I am going to be treated as if I don't make my payments. If I could give a less of a star I would.

Management has shown they will say whatever they can to just get you off the phone or to put the responsibility on their staff instead.
They tried to withhold my title, for what turned out to be some made up reason. They could not reference policy to back up what junk they tried to feed me. And instead of admitting they were wrong, management just avoided me, until drove myself to a corporate branch. Turns out they couldn’t get that rule in writing after all, and my title was shipped that day.

Not a safe place for women. Men dress as women here. Escalation for r@pe victims. When brought to managers attention was told cannot use drive thru no more and have to talk with manager every time I go in. Because I am not accepting instead I’m scared

If I could give no stars for the Peoria office…Linda from collections calls rudely, no compassion….no understanding…..over talks you..when you mention being rude…she started getting snappy and had the audacity to hang up on me. I was literally 30 days behind after the loss of a job in April 2023 I communicated this several times…she didn’t note it until June!!!! Thats ridiculous. Troy the manager over collections called me after I complained about the treatment…he didn’t apologize and mentioned she will still have to communicate with me…I do not wish to have any contact with her at all. He offered no solutions or anything and I wasn’t trying to even get out of the payment…life happens people struggle. Do not get a loan with them regardless unprofessional.

I filed a complaint but I did it with the wrong office they forwarded my complaint to the Illinois department of financial and professional regulations. Today. We went into the member center they said they found a charge for 26 dollars and some change said they filed a dispute on it was on the phone asking if it could be disputed called cefcu's 800 number who said they had no record of the dispute this last time I called CEFCU I even recorded my phone call so when I go to small claims court it's all right there. We got a new account number like I said got paid the deposit went in the wrong account called cefcu guy I talked to says deposis in new accounts take time check back in a hour or 2. Then we get a letter from cefcus ach coordinator telling me the correct format the information goes in tells me to update the information with the company as soon as possible or cefcu was going to charge me $10 dollars each time they had to manually add it to my account lady just signed it ach coordinator I googled it and found out who their ach coordinator is called unfair business practices ebay got me twice a day the limit they could run my card. Cefcus overdraft limit is 120 dollars I don't see why or how they treat their members like this facebook.com/reel/642049…

Such a bad choice to bank with CEFCU. Initial set-up was easy, people are nice, and the overall dominance in the area allows them to offer some good benefits. HOWEVER, they will charge you a fee for every little thing. I opened a new account and switched all of my auto debits to my new account. Because of the odd way they manage their account numbers, I received a fee of ten cash dollars for each and EVERY one of the auto debits.This situation is so common, they spent the developer money to have an automated form letter sent out automatically each time this happens, so this is clearly a known issue to them. BUT instead of fixing it, and being clear to customers how to format their account number, they chose instead to prey on unsuspecting new members to charge them this predatory fee.This company has already been sued for this kind of bad acting behavior, and they settled, because they were wrong.Imagine if a had moved 30 auto-debits over... they would have charged me 300, even though they were the one to put a dash in the account number. Absolutely nowhere in my documents, and no person warned me they had this issue.So, no problem, I knew, so I called and said "Hey please take these off, I'm new, and its a weird format your using" they offered to take 2 off. 20. For a mistake they made. Then they had the audacity to call it a "courtesy".Excuse me? No! It is no courtesy to steal my money and they offer me 20 back. I told them to keep the 20 and I am going to close my account now.For the rest of time, I will make sure every human being I meet knows not to bank here. I hope you choose not to, but if you do, please be careful.One last item, I spend over an hour switching all of my accounts to this new number. I invested so much time in this bank, so that it could be the place for me. Now I have to redo all that work again, but thankfully this time, it won't be with a greedy organization that does not see human beings as worthy of serving.

Do not bank with CEFCU! Worst customer service EVER. Do not get any line of credit with them. They are rude, condescending, and unwilling to work with their customers. Lindsey is our current loan officer and she is AWFUL. We'll be making some changes.
