I rent from Avis frequently for business purposes. This location has the worst customer service and they make up their own rules. Several times I've dealt with unnecessary comments and attitudes. I received legal threats from a personal phone number, with no prior attempt at contacting me, even though the credit card on file was active and a request to extend the rental was made. It's not all the agents, to be fair, but it doesn't seem as if much care is given about the service that is regularly provided. I've even seen other customers treated poorly so I don't believe it's personal. I'll do my part to avoid renting from this location in the future, just sharing my experience.

Just landed at the airport.Me: “Hello do you have any cars available for rent?”Lady “ I don’t know… I doubt it…”Me: silence staring …..Lady: “ I said I DONT KNOW”Me: “Well how can we figure out if you do?”Lady “ i don’t know go online and see”Me: “ is there any other way. Since I’m here already?”Lady: “ I told you I don’t know and to just figure out online!”Great customer service Avis

Everything was ready and prepared in advance before I arrived. It is very beneficial to use the App, which helps this process. It was quick and efficient to show my ID, pick up the portfolio, and head to the space where the representative identified where the car was parked and ready. It is so easy to get in and out compared to other rental locations.

0/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! I experienced extreme prejudice and was continually lied to !! Erin the receptionist was rude and made up multiple “policies” so I wouldn’t be able to rent. When asked to show me said policies were, she couldn’t show me where ANYTHING was written (Because she made them up). I’ve rented from Avis in the past and never experienced anything like this before. I knew exactly what I needed to rent. I asked to speak to the manager (I believe her name was Jessica or Jasmine) and I specifically asked what I need and she stated my flight itinerary, which I had. However, Erin intervened and refuse to rent to me. I waited for almost two hours and saw that I was treated vastly different from the white customers, she didn’t make them jump through hoops or ask a million questions. It’s very heartbreaking and shameful.

No clue how to return this car. Apparently you are supposed to park it and go inside to the AVIS counter and maybe give them the key..maybe leave the key in the car ?♀️ who knows! No one near to ask! I’ve traveled all over the world, and this is a first !

I was moving from my house in Lombard, one of the Chicago suburbs to the north side of Peoria. I couldn’t get the freaking trunk open as hard as I tried. There was no owners manual in the car. And I called to try and get help and they were just like yeah well whatever, I mean sure these people are is nice as they can be in person, but otherwise they’re pretty freaking, helpless. Probably the stupid born again Christians. Anyway, I never could get my phone hooked up so I could actually take a call while I was driving. And they were as nice as they could be to me when I was at the airport but they just don’t understand what poor service the providing I’m from Chicago and I’m used to provide a world class service to my users. I worked in IT for 35 years and they’re in embarrassment.

Only 4 people ahead of me and line for 50 minutes. It was absolutely painful watching the person working the counter. The last thing I need on the tail end of a flight.Rental reeked of cigarette smoke. Absolutely filthy. Windows were disgusting.

Rental went great...5 weeks later I was accused of $3,500+ in damage to the car. The damage report had 400+ more miles on the car than when I dropped it off. The report was filed at O'Hare Airport but I returned the car to Peoria Airport, 175 miles apart. This is fraudulant behavior...how may people is AVIS trying to have pay for the same damage? Avis dropped the claim but what would have happened if I didn't have proof I didn't cause the damage? BEWARE EVERYONE

Rented a 12 seater van on Friday, transmission started slipping on Saturday 900 miles from home. Called Avis on Monday. Went to the closest airport and did a complete swap for a brand new Ford Transit. Very smooth. Returned new van back home a week later and received a day off of our rental. Will stick with avis here on out! Thank you Avis!

The car I picked up was disgusting. The interior door handle had been used as an ashtray. The car's exterior was caked with dead bugs and there were several dents in the exterior that they had described as perfect. The staff I spoke with "Couldn't check every car." and "were sorry to hear that my experience wasn't great." No other resolutions were offered.

When my husband arrived to pick up the rental, he was told that the reservation made under my Avis number was no longer accepted for spouses. Was never sent a notice of this policy change. In addition he was charged a deposit that was twice the cost of the rental. Will think twice about using my "Wizard" number again.
