I choose to go out of my way (specifically, out of the town I live in) to visit this post office with my mailing business. The gal behind the counter is always friendly, helpful, and efficient. She never gets flustered or upset if there's a line of customers waiting, she treats you kindly and I appreciate that!

Issues continue....No mail on day last week, then no mail last night. We understand that mail is being stolen at all levels. Postal Inspectors are busy. Yet it's time clean house.

We’ve lived in PR since 2011 and I’ve made countless trips to this post office and never had anything less than a pleasant experience. Lines are usually short and staff is for the most part friendly. And as for our mailman Alex, we absolutely adore him! Best mailman we’ve ever had!

Patrice was awesome helping me apply for my expedited passport. I had some glitches, but she told me what to do and handled me and everyone else at the same time. Great experience. Thank you!

too bad no place for zero review rating! post offices do 'their thing' every day and that means we wait never receiving mail put in others mailboxes while that jibber jabber talking on their cellphones! dummies for profit!p.s. to include DES PLAINES 60016

Place is supposed to be open until 6pm. They have the tendency to randomly close their lobby down a half hour after they open. What the hell is the point.

The current state of the postal system is a disaster! Not only is mail lost, delayed and destroyed, mail has been stolen out of the outdoor blue mail boxes.

I live in a condo with an intercom system and post office just don't deliver the packages there. For some reason they put a note "insufficient address" or some other random note and send the package back to the sender. They don't attempt to redeliver or neither the package is available at the post office to pick up. As I am writing this they sent back my medicine back to pharmacy. I always try to choose other carries and avoid the post office at all cost but once in a while I have to use it. And they are not able to deliver half of the times (literally). I wish post office manager would read it and make the service more reliable or at least give me the opportunity to pick up my packages, don't send them back for no reason. I assume the reason is sloppiness of the carries. I never have any issues with other carries and the address is super easy to find. The problem is that the post office can't/doesn't want to leave the packages outside so they just send them back to the sender.

Over the course of the past year I have attempted to purchase 3-4 rolls of first-class stamps for my business at this location (in the town where I live and where we have a PO Box) on at least 10 different occasions. Only twice in all of those occasions have they had them in stock. The other times (often after standing in line for several minutes) I am met with--"I'm sorry, we don't have any." How is this possible? You're a post office? Who is in charge of running this location? As a side note, I have had to go to a different post office in a neighboring community, which has had the rolls of stamps every time I've gone there. Clearly the person in charge of that post office knows how to do their job far better than the one in Park Ridge.

Terribly understaffed. There’s a sign outside the door that they are reopening at 12:35, it’s now 12:40 and there’s a line of 15 people waiting. Confused why they would be closed during a lunch rush.

This location has 5 POS/kiosks but only one person always working. Also, Manager always has an attitude.

So sad to enter a government service building that has so absolutely little to offer in the way of service. No hustle and bustle here. The absolute MINIMUM in help or information is given at any single moment. I had to go through the line 3 times as information was given to me on an "as needed" basis. The workers looked like their teeth were being extracted and the effort I saw in any single given task was in SLOW MOTION. What happened to pride in the workplace? It's a sad day for the work ethic here in Park Ridge.

USPS still provides, by far, the best value for your money. Tracking and priority are very affordable compared to FedEx and UPS, and in my lifetime, I've rarely if ever received a damage package from USPS (whereas that is usually the norm from FedEx and UPS).That being said, this location's parking lot is ALWAYS FULL, and I don't know how. I have never been able to park in the lot. Thankfully, there is free street parking right around the corner. It would be nice if there were more parking spots. Maybe it would be possible to repaint the lines in a way that creates more spots rather than making the lot larger? It's a pretty odd shape.
