I DO NOT recommend this daycare at all. We enrolled our then 2 year old to attend and after only two weeks of just half days, the director told us that she was no longer allowed to come back. Why? Because she was crying for her parents daily (like a normal 2 year old who is adjusting to a new setting). The director also had the nerve to tell my husband that our daughter’s crying was “getting on their nerves.” Oh and wait, there’s more… She also had the audacity to tell my husband that he should come the week after to see the new batch of kids starting their first day, so he can observe how kids “normally” act.I am thankful we ran out of there and never looked back. She is a thriving (smart and social) almost 4 year old at another wonderful daycare who welcomed her with open arms and actually was attentive to her needs.

We've had our 2.5 year old foster son at Sugar Plum for almost three months. In this short amount of time our timid little guy has completely opened up to us and our family. I know this is due to the comfort and support he receives at Sugar Plum. He also has a disability where his left hand isn't fully formed. He now knows how to hold a fork properly, put on his coat, and hold a pencil the right way! I'm so glad we came across Sugar Plum. They've really made a difference in his life and in our family's life. Truly grateful to their staff and, of course, to Mrs. Waters.

My son has been going to Sugar Plum Tree for 3 years and it has been the one constant since we moved to Park Ridge. We can rely on them to care, teach and provide him many learning experiences so he can become an independent little boy, ready for kindergarten. They helped him learn to talk more with wonderful songs, colors and shapes in Acorns, drink out of an open top cup, potty training & clean up after himself (lunch and toys) in Sprouts, learn all his letters, numbers, writing, follow direction, independence and more in Discovery and Koala classes. Each classroom has an appropriate teacher-student ratio with colorful, private rooms each with their own personality. And during the pandemic, they have kept each child and staff member safe with their rules to protect and keep the mask mandate since the kids are too young to vaccinate.Mrs. Waters and his pre-K teachers have supported our son in most his special ed needs by allowing his private therapists to come to the school. He gets SLP & OT sessions in per week while aligning with his teachers to work with his therapists which help him transition from therapy back to gym or class time. This has been such a big help to know he is getting many of his needs met. Thank you Mrs. Waters, Lynn, Brittany and all his teachers for your help, support, learning and life skills for our son throughout these years!!!

The school has a big gym that the children have access to year round and have lots of field trips and school events for the children to participate. We had a great teacher in our first classroom and they potty trained our child in under 2 weeks! Also, they have a 6pm pick-up which was helpful to our family at times. On the other hand, they are extremely disorganized from everything from field trips to payments and pick-up and drop off times, they closed too often during the winter for weather issues, and the teacher in the second classroom was not nearly as engaging or helpful as the first teacher.

I have gotten to know all of the teachers over the years and they really do care about the kids. They are hilarious and so good at making the kids laugh! My son sings the months of the year and the days of the week at only 3 years old. The teachers put everything in song formation so they kids really learn a lot. They are creative and there are tons of activities for the kids to do!
